In season 1: Clementine the moral compass of the season. I would side with her on pretty much everything, luckily she always wanted to do th… moree right thing and it would work out quite nicely. It did make it awkward to play as her in season 2 since that moral compass is now gone and she makes the decision whether it be good or bad.
In season 2: I would do everything I could to not get along with Carver and Troy for obvious reasons (they bad people).
The way I see it, if you need to hurt Clem you can't be a good person.
TWD universe seems like the type of place where if good people survive long enough they eventually become bad or have to do bad things to survive, but that's what makes them so interesting.
I don't agree with you that Troy & Carver are bad people. I will admit that they have done some bad things, but honestly who hasn't in … morethe ZA.
The only good guy in TWDG S:2 was Luke, and he died. I feel like the writers of the TWDG really love the batman movies....
They're always trying to play the concept, "you either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

I both love and dislike Jane. It's the strangest thing lol. She reminds me a lot of myself in terms of practicality and reservedness and other things (though I will say I would die defending my sisters from walkers), but I can't stand some of the stupid shit she's done. Or rather the stupid shit Telltale's made her do, since it doesn't quite make sense for her to have done them.
Luke will always be golden to me. They cut that guy down in his prime sigh. He better be back in season 3 via some crazy Kenny-like miracle story-line that doesn't make sense.
Kenny I'm ambivalent towards. He can get ridick angry but I know his heart's in the right place.
Ben and Clementine's friendship was very heartwarming to me...I could never find a way to get both Ben and Kenny to come look for her in my playthrough but I hear if he comes he'll say that he wanted to help Clem because she was his only fan. And he gave her stickers for her walkie-talkie and if that's not the cutest shit I don't know what is.
I liked him. Nothing he ever did was malicious. And Clementine liked him. "I like Ben. He's my friend. We don't leave friends behind. Thats my vote" Even after he left her that time.
The whole Kenny V Jane thing was so forced, they should of gave you a situation where it was two people need help, one dies, that way they could of expanded on making more development instead of making Kenny a monster, and Jane the entire game telling us how much of a monster he was.

Yeah it was forced. They should've done a lot of things differently. It would've been nice if they'd had Kenny resolve his differences with Luke as it seems like they were starting to do In No Going Back, and then work from there. Like some unused game files suggested you would've lost Kenny or Luke in the snowstorm, and you had to go with one, leaving one with an unknown status. That would've been nice because then neither of them would've been determinant, and they could've shown up in Season 3. But I'm guessing TT thought it wouldn't have been that climactic to just choose between them like that without some big showdown/conflict, or maybe there weren't enough feels they could squeeze out from a snowstorm scene.

Positive : Luke Jane and Rebecca. I felt Jane and Luke's personalities were the most relatable and I really liked how those characters grew and developed and really made me care for them thus making them my favorite characters of S2 by far. Rebecca was a bitch in Episode 1 but she grew on me over the season. Over this season I really liked how her relationship with my Clem changed. From enemies to Rebecca calling her "My favorite little person in the world." She was easily my 3rd favorite character this season.
I don't agree with you that Troy & Carver are bad people. I will admit that they have done some bad things, but honestly who hasn't in … morethe ZA.

Arvo (negative): Things are never good for slimy little cowards that try to saunter up to people in the cold and threaten them. Pity? Scumbags don't get pity.
Kenny (negative): I'm not preferable to loud psychotic rednecks written with the complexity of a third grader.
A.J. (negative): He's a baby.
Bonnie (negative): A dumb ass who's the definition of a self-centered cowardly two-timing backstabber.
Mike (negative): He was surely nice while was he plotting to leave behind a baby and a young girl with no supplies. He sure is swell, huh?
Clementine (positive): Can do no wrong in my eyes, she is Voltron after all...
I agree, they should have the best forum writers come together and write the next season. I bet if we all put our brilliant minds together we can come up with a better story than S2.
S2 imo had so many issues, i don't even know where to begin. I think it started when they decided to change the story mid game. I feel they added Kenny as a last minute change, so they were always trying to compensate for the changes.
Carlos was supposed to play Kenny's role.
Sarita has no character development, the only thing i know about her is that her family doesn't celebrate Christmas, she was just basically another body to make the count higher, and to develop Kenny's character even more.
Sarah was dead as soon as they decided to Ax Carlos for Kenny.

A lot of people have managed to remain good in life without being selfish, murdering, bullying scumbags.
At least I know what kind of person you are if you identify with Troy.
There's black and white to everybody. That's the whole theme of The Walking Dead story--no character is 100% good and no character is 100% bad. Some people are pushed towards the dark end more than they'd like to be though.

I think Season 2 started getting bad post A House Divided. Kenny's return was done well as we could see his mental state was questionable (calling Clem Duck and making strange jokes). I would have handled his character like this: After his beatdown by Carver, he doesn't wake up. From there the group decides they have to leave him behind (like Luke was saying) if they want to get out and away from Carver. From there, we don't know if Kenny is alive or dead, making him unknown. I'd sum up the season like this.
All That Remains eliminated Omid and Christa, two worthwhile main characters in Season 1 Ep 3, 4 and 5 in a matter of 5 minutes. We meet a group who have questionable morals. We like some of them (Luke, Pete, Alvin) but hate others (Nick, Carlos, Rebecca).
A House Divided saw Carlos and Rebecca do complete 180's in terms of character. However, our choices have a very large impact on the narrative. We can potentially save or kill Nick. We can save or kill Alvin.
In Harm's Way was too linear as we literally were directed from location to location with very little worthwhile character development.
Amid The Ruins was a mess. Our choices did nothing. Our past choices didn't matter.
No Going Back was strange. Somehow Jane and Kenny ended up hating each other for no reason after 3 previous episodes of Luke and Kenny.
Overall: Character development was lacking this season. Too short episodes. If you look at the Season as one cohesive effort, it seems like a badly planned mess of inconsistencies. The novelty of playing as Clementine wore off. Too much from Season 1 was repeated.

Ooh I thought you were talking about some much older thread I'd never seen. I didn't think there was much wrong with In Harm's Way though lol so I never clicked on that post! I'll read it now though. :S
His girlfriend just died in front of his eyes, in a horrible way. He was upset and angry about that. He blamed Clem for it, which was inappropriate, but he apologized for it. Even though he went though all this depressing experiences another time, he helped the group to deliver the baby and did everything he could to protect them.
I understand people that dislike Kenny for what he did during the events of episode 5, but this is ridiculous.

Michelle is one character that interested me that I don't talk enough about...I've already discussed my attachment to Arvo to death at this … morepoint, but the most intriguing thing about Michelle is that it seemed so obvious that she was just a scared kid trying to be tough because she thought it was the only way to make it out in the world. I hate that she killed Omid but her reaction afterwards shows that she probably has never killed anyone before. I find her kinda sad and interesting at the same time. She reminds me of someone I knew when I was younger, that probably has something to do with it.
Yeah...maybe she was like Clementine at one point, and maybe had people who cared for her and looked out for her but she lost them and unlike Clem, had no backup in the form of Christa and Omid...Michelle seems to be a girl who just tried hard to look tough and probably learned to be that way so nobody would try to take advantage of her. When she kills Omid she drops the gun and surrenders, someone who was a cold-blooded killer and thief wouldn't have been so shocked at what they did if it was something they'd done plenty of times before.
I love Carver, he wasn't a bad guy really in my opinion. He was a really smart guy, that would go ape shit crazy if he lost his temper. Sou… morend Familiar? At some point in our lives we meet someone like this, he is generally a decent guy, but when he loses his shit, Watch out. That is what made him such a brilliant character to me, is because i could see other sides of him, that i think a lot of players just don't want to look or dismiss any similarities they may share with him.
Ben, the pathetic kid. He reminded me of my kid brother, How could you be mean to this kid. I always felt bad for him and Kenny reminds me of my best friend. A complete pain in the ass to deal with, sometimes.
Nate, I love this guy because he reminds me of myself. After coming back to the states, I just don't care anymore, its how you make it through bad stuff, you just turn them feelings off. When you go through a lot of shit, and you seen a lot… [view original content]
No I don't think it's ridiculous to hate him over that. Did Lee go crazy as fuck when he saw his brother die? When he found out his parent's die? No he didn't, everyone has lost people and he isn't a special case. Also remember that I'm one of the people who sided with Kenny for the entirety of season 1, and was pretty much a fanboy of his at one point, but what he did crossed the line and that was when I was pretty much over with Ken.
But why?

I liked Carver as a character. I wish they could explore him more.

I just thought of something funny... You know the one person who was relieved when they found out there was a emerging Ebola outbreak,
Back OT -
I don't see the world as black and white. Its more of a healthy shade of sepia.

Positive bias: Clementine, Lee, Christa, Omid, Carley, Luke, Nate
Negative bias: Stranger, Danny St. John, Larry, Ben, Kenny, Duck, Carlos, Rebecca, Troy, Reggie, Bonnie
I suppose anyone who attacks the group or puts them in danger I have a negative bias to, unless they redeem themselves, e.g Ben.
I am positively biased heavily to Kenny. Although anyone who is nice to me, I am biased to.
Clementine. Positive bias. Fairly self explanatory I think.
Arvo. Negative bias. Shot my Clem for doing necessary actions.

You wrote up a thing defending Carver a while back right? Can you send me or post a link bc I'd love to see it.
