Kenny or AJ?

edited October 2014 in The Walking Dead

For those of you who chose to leave with Kenny (or anyone really, but I'm mainly interested in the response of these), if it came down to the wire, who would you save?

Would you save Kenny as you've known him longer and have probably had a positive relationship with him in the next games, so feel some loyalty towards him? Or do you save the recently born child of your friends?

Thought this might be a hard choice so discussion of it would be interesting :)

  • A.J. for me.

  • Wow. That's a tough one...

A.J. At least he won't kill half the group with his bloodlust and murder boner. Just with his incompetence.

  • But whoever you don't save in this choice dies, so not being able to defend itself isn't really relevant

A.J., a child can't defend itself in that world.

  • A.J., a child can't defend itself in that world.

  • Weren't you the one who made an entire thread, saying you wanted to kill A.J.? :P

  • Ah, still A.J.

  • Something worth considering is how Kenny would react if you chose to help him and let AJ die.

  • Kenny, i don't care about AJ.

  • A.J., Kenny has already lived a lot, and A.J. has a lot to live. Plus, if I saved Kenny he would be pissed because I didn't save the baby.

  • I was. I'd do it without thought.

    I'm super evil, you see?

  • A.J. Wasn't hard at all.

  • How is a baby incompetent? Lol

  • That is a hard choice. Kenny would want me to save AJ, but I'm not so sure I would just let my last friend my Clem has just die.

I suppose I would save Kenny. I'd feel terrible about it, though.

Man... I love Kenny... But A.J., because it's what Kenny would want, and he would lose the will to live if something happened to him, and I'm not gonna let a baby die.

    You serious?

Can A.J. defend you from a herd of walkers? Can A.J. give you advice? Can A.J. even feed himself?

    Yeah, that's what's I though... Lol.

  • Being a helpless baby is not the same thing as being bad at your job, lol

  • AJ. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

  • That's why I'd choose A.J. over "Mr. Asshole Redneck."

    Lol.

Kenny because as bad as leaving a baby to die is, Aj will most likely die sooner or later so you might as well save the person who can do things.

  • Arguably AJ is holding together Kenny's mental state to such an extent that he won't be able to do things when he dies.

It's an interesting avenue to consider.

Lots of him being messed up is because of Duck and Katjaa though. And that happened 16 months before; clearly he's still torn emotionally by it and hasn't healed properly.

Yeah he might get better in ten years, but that's ten years of putting clem at risk (hitting arvo leading indirectly to him shooting clem for example) with jolty emotions to such an extent that it isn't worth it.

I feel like Kenny was so messed up because he had just lost his girl friend and his eye. Yeah Aj helped him get through it an Aj dieing woul

  • I feel like Kenny was so messed up because he had just lost his girl friend and his eye. Yeah Aj helped him get through it an Aj dieing would fuck him up again. But Kenny would get better eventually. That's why in the 9 days later you can see he has gotten alot better. Like I said Kenny seemed to be so screwed up in Ep 4 and 5 because everything he had just lost. I also like Kenny's way of dealing with death because it is more realistic than other characters such as Rebecca who seems sadder that Nick or Sarah is dead rather than Alvin

I gotta abandon that screaming, selfish baby that throws a tantrum when he doesn't get his way and is a huge ticking time bomb for trouble.

    Oh, and I'll save AJ.

  • AJ wouldn't be able to defend himself and would probably start flying halfway across the map even if you just put him by your feet.

  • Please don't post cartoon pic's... I hate them...

  • Harsh.

  • I wouldn't want Kenny to suffer.

Hence the reason why I got the alone ending. I put Kenny's out of his misery so he could be with his family, so he wouldn't have to go through pain each and every day.

And if I didn't save AJ, Kenny would be just as more as a wreck. He'd probably go straight off the end and do something bad to himself or Clementine.
