Should Clem be a little more... Happy?

    About Clementine...

She doesn't have PTSD. She doesn't have a disorder in the first place.

If Sarah had it, Clementine has it.

That makes no sense, Sarah was traumatized and she couldn't handle it. We all witnessed her behavior. The reason why Clementine is "down" most of the time, is because she lost a lot of people and she feels sad for being alone. Some people just can't handle emotions.

the creator of this thread said:

I want her to have a little more emotion in her voice

    1. voice actor is way too old, it's hard to make a proper voice for a eleven year old, but the voice also needed to fit with the character. so can't say to much about that.
    2. Clementine's character has been affected by everything she has been through. We don't know what else happend after Omid died, and seriously; A LOT could've happend in that time.
    3. Clementine is still mentally stable, after everything she been through. In contrast of Sarah, who wasn't.

  • Sarah is nothing like me. She didn't have PTSD, i don't know why the writers said that, because she was not a accurate representation of what the disease is. I feel like they were just trying to explain away her obsucre behavior with a disease that is "trendy." in pop culture, or they didn't know what to say and said the first thing that popped in their mind.

She shows no symptoms that are comparable with PTSD, or anything that would make me think she has it. I was diagnosed myself with this disorder myself. However Clementine i could see, having the disease because of all the horrible things that happened to her since the whole mess started.

If Sarah had it, Clementine has it. Clementine doesn't have PTSD. Look at the symptoms Sarah had: Not wanting to move, wanting to

  • Incorrect.

    Happy Clem > Badass Clem

  • Her life is awesome.

I don´t blame her for not being happy. I wish she was, but her life sucks. I like her as she is, unemotional or not.

Absolutely, I would much rather have a happy little girl than a cold emotionless survivor....

  • Depends on the situation.

    For sexual purposes, no.

Kenny was way more interesting than that cunt Jane. We've seen the silent badass who loses her family and becomes selfish then brought out of her shell by the main group of survivors, sound familiar? I assume you're talking about Sarah when you say "young girl", she was annoying, lame, useless, and definitely lowered everyone's chances of surviving. I don't understand the few people who hate Kenny, do you all realize how boring the story would've been without him, would you rather all the characters get along and live in peace without absolutely any conflict? And sub-par writing? So why do you bother playing it? You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

What does she have to be happy about? Being written to follow a group of idiots and fuck-up's through their demise as she is forcibly als

  • Telltale confirmed that Sarah suffers PTSD.

  • Oh, she definitely has it. So does shell-shocked Kenny.

PTSD isn't the only thing that's "off" with Sarah. 15 year old girls don't act like her - they act like Becca.

BTW, look up "Happy Little Clem" or "Psycho Clem" on Youtube if you want to see her smiling. :D

Kenny for certain. His behavior, the way he treated Arvo. In my own experiences I never became violent, but i definetly could identify with Kenny in some degree. For example this line.

"What is wrong with Kenny? Why is Kenny acting this way? Is Kenny going to be okay."

I disagree, i think every child acts different. Some are more outgoing then others, some are born shy. I never thought Sarah had anything mentally wrong with her, other than she was lonely/sheltered and wanted a friend. She was my Ben Character for me in S2.

I loved Ben from S1. I wished he would of survived, and in S2 same with Sarah.

  • After all that's happened, we are lucky Clem is not catatonic so no, there is Zeo reason for her to be much happier then she is

  • "Symptoms of PTSD. People with PTSD often experience feelings of panic or extreme fear, which may resemble what was felt during the traumatic event. A person with PTSD has three main types of difficulties, which include: reliving the traumatic event – through unwanted and recurring memories and vivid nightmares."

They claim that she has PTSD. Although not represented properly, it is confirmed that she has it. I guess that she's just silent when Clem comes in, because with Luke, she was screaming very loudly.

However Clementine i could see, having the disease because of all the horrible things that happened to her since the whole mess started.

Well, it's not really the matter of what she's seen, it's more of how she acts. She doesn't show any symptoms whatsoever, nor is it confirmed. But I can see what you're trying to say.

  • Oh, she definitely has it. So does shell-shocked Kenny.

Clementine doesn't even show any symptoms of PTSD. But I agree with Kenny having it.

And no, we were born with "personality" for a reason. Not every 15 year old acts like Becca, Becca just seems to look at the ZA in a different way. Sarah, not only has PTSD, but was very sheltered. Her personality is warm and caring, and Becca's is hostile and quirky.

Seconded, once again. I'm all for having some actual introspective on Clem's growth and the childhood she left behind, and exploring that kind of sisterly bond with Sarah would be a very bittersweet dynamic.

  • I actually had this odd dream after my second play through of season two. Where Clem and Sarah find a department store, and Clem lays out all these tools and equipment on the floor. Canteen, lighter, rope, tin snips, pliers, raincoat, screwdriver, mirror, needle nose pliers, compass. Where as Sarah adds a couple of frivolous fun items. Pack of Cards, a couple of books, pad of paper and pens. And then you have to pick only six items to take with you. Kind of a symbolic decision on how much you value happiness in such terrible times.

Then later Sarah gets bitten, and her dying request is to return to the department store and just play with Clem in the toy section for a couple a hours before she dies. And there be a ton of things to click on but you could only go through a small amount of them before Sarah succumbs to the bite. Then she thank Clem for fulfilling her dying wish and Clem would have to shoot her. A bittersweet experience with Clem getting to relive her lost childhood briefly before leaving it behind for good as signified by Sarah's death.

  • I'd take too much time figuring out different item combinations, but I like the idea of the variation that would come with prioritizing certain supplies (Even if I'd feel bad having to explain why we needed a canteen more than a fantasy novel).

Ouch. I'm a sap that likes to imagine a positive outcome for Sarah, but the idea of sitting it out with her as she slowly deteriorates could have had some heavy impact on me. Apart from Lee, and the few minutes you can sit with Pete, we haven't really talked to someone who knew it was only a matter of time after a bite.

What if Sarah didn't fully know that her wound was fatal, and Clementine had to go about explaining it? Easing her into the idea, or avoiding the topic while Clem tries to keep her composure playing a game or while reminiscing about random hobbies they had in the past. Staving off reality for however long you're able to give each other, and trying to smile despite the inevitable.
