Do you want Season 3 to have an antagonist?

Just a simple question, do you want another Carver like character in Season 3? I wont say the stranger because he was really only the antagonist in the last episode unlike Carver who had multiple.

  • I want one, but I don't want him/her to be killed off mid season. Make them a reoccurring character throughout.

  • Ladies and gentelmen, it's time to bring back Nate.

  • I would say yes, it would be cool to see an antagonist for the whole season, not just half of one.

  • Sure, How about Negan? oh! maybe Christa can come back and be evil! or maybe even nate!

  • A strawpoll could be a good reoccurring antagonist.

  • If they brought back Nate do you think he would kind of be the Shane of the group?

  • I'm not sure he would stick around groups, but he certainly stands out from the crowd like Shane did. Also, Nate is characteristic and can fit the storyline at any time.

  • I personally think in S3, they need to treat the story more like the Television show, and understand that they don't have to kill every character off at the end of the season, then start with a brand new cast of characters.

  • Agreed. If everyone dies by the end of Season 3 I will facepalm.

  • Yes but not main antagonists. I want minor antagonists such as humans, walkers - A person who is reoccurring but they have their reasons for doing things against Clementine and her group.

  • I want one that we see throughout the entire season, who only meets his/her downfall in ep.5. I want an "All Out War" thing like between the prison and Woodbury or Negan and Alexandria.

  • Not necessarily an antagonist but a very questionable ally and corrupting influence like Nate. They could nail a Clem and Nate dynamic if they tried

  • I hope that antagonist won't end up like Carver. Dying mid-season without really doing anything.

  • Depends on how it's done. Carver didn't really have the chance to live up to his potential, but I don't think his role as a dictator needs to be copy-pasted.

I'd prefer to see more people who aren't one-dimensionally evil. Other survivors that could feasibly turn out to be allies or antagonists depending on how you interact with them and what extremes they're driven to.

  • I want an antagonist but one that matters. I don't want them to die without a meaning, like Carver who died only to provide characterization to Kenny and somewhat to Clem. I would really like if they took a Negan approach where they constantly shapes Clem over a period of time and you can go with it or try and fight their influence.

If we don't get a antagonist like that then I rather we don't have one just for the sake of the plot.

  • Definitely. I feel that both Seasons have not had a proper antagonist yet. The first Season had Stranger, but he was introduced at the end of Episode 3, and we didn't get to physically see him, Season 2 started off good with Carver, getting us to expect him early on, then making his first appearance in Episode 2. He died way too early.

For Season 3, I want the antagonist to be introduced in Episode 1, and make it to at least Episode 5. I want a war between their group and Clem's group like the show and comics have done. Maybe Wellington will act like some sort of "Woodbury" in the sense that the leader isn't who he/she says they are. I think it'd be an interesting twist if Lilly were the leader, and became some sort of Antagonist. Lilly is the leader type as seen from Season 1, and she will definitely not get along with Kenny if chosen to remain with him. Plus, when has TWD ever had a female antagonist? Also, I want explosions. I'm just REALLY curious as to how explosions look on Telltale's engine.

  • We need a REAL villan Carver was just poor, St johns, Bandits were too far along. We need someone who can be seen as a real moral option even if they are a darker person

I want to BE the antagonist! Clem ruthless leader of Wellington sounds good. >:)

  • Well, Carver created this dark side of Clementine which everyone seems to hate here, path focused mainly on survival which could've been explored if certain options were selected. Some called it "badass", but such behavior surely can be classified as deviating and worrisome. It still depends on player's morality, though.

I hope that antagonist won't end up like Carver. Dying mid-season without really doing anything.

  • I don't really see the "dark" Clem he created, maybe because I didn't watch him die? I don't know I really don't see his impact.

  • Everyone hates it because it just feels stupid that an 11 year old girl is the nemesis of a old crazy person, they both don't really have alot in common and it just feels like a lame way to make Clem look "badass" at least from my perspective.

  • Here's a neat fact for a lot of you... You do not need a clear antagonist to simply occupy space in a narrative because it gives you comfort to hate someone who is a clear threat to the "good" of any giving character.

  • i know right. I know this is a novel concept but sometimes "OK" things happen too, or even good things can happen!

It would make the deaths mean more meaningful when they do happen.

  • If it happens again I'll be extremely disappointed. I mean seriously. Three times in a row.

  • Guess it depends on whether you agree or not with his "survival for the fittest" ideology. If you do and decide to follow that idea, such thinking may justify leaving Sarah at the trailer or robbing Arvo without feeling guilty.

maybe because I didn't watch him die?

Probably. "You'll learn. You go with that feeling you got right now, Clementine. It's what makes you stronger than the rest of them."

I don't really see the "dark" Clem he created, maybe because I didn't watch him die? I don't know I really don't see his impact.

  • I would like there to be an antagonist yes but only if he/she is well written and isn't a typical villain like Carver was.

  • Carver believed that the next generation has to be strong enough to lead people out from the apocalipse, that's why he was obsessed with his unborn baby. He also wanted to persuade Clementine to understand and support his ideology - which the player can actually agree with - he considered her as a person who fits into the world he created.

  • I dont mind if they put a another antagonist, but in my book, walkers are bad enough.

  • I want a '' Stranger '' just like Season 1. If that won't happen, well, Nate is welcome.

  • Yes! I realy do want Clem and her possibly new group to fight with new antagonist who's leader of other group while Clem is of hers. And I think it'd be really stupid and annoying if TTG would kill him for a episode or two like they did with Carver.

I guess that makes sense, bu the thing here is that, I don't see how Clementine is supposedly Carver's equal and why episode 3 keeps hammering that idea, it doesn't work for me and it still feels like Telltale are trying to make Clem seem "edgy" and "cool" and that's not a good thing at all.

  • She's not equal with Carver, Carver's explored the dark side of survival and Clementine was exposed to its effects. The storyline continues this idea - showing it's possible for Clem to become someone like him. It's really up to you has he succeeded or not.

  • I want a crazy ass antagonist that's seriously fucking dangerous. Way worse than Carver, Stranger, St. John's and The Russians COMBINED.

    Someone like Negan.

  • And if I try my hardest to make Clem less of a one dimensional edgy person, but that ends up happening anyway, then I'll be pissed, as I've heard Telltale is planning to make Clem more "edgy", which is bad, very bad.

Clementine needs a villain that will put her on the edge kind of like Vaas from Far Cry 3.

    I want a gentleman who has a reason for his evil. Not a mindless murderer like IHW Carver, but more like AHD Carver. Oh! And he needs to be voiced by him;
