I believe there needs to be a reaction because it really paints a bad image for the Cabin Group, they look like uncaring a-holes. Rebecca's the only one to give an emotional reaction (Luke swearing three times isn't what I call an emotional reaction), and that's only if he died in episode 4. If he died in episode 2, not a single person gives a reaction because no one knows he died and no one asks, he's only brought up again in episode 5 when Luke talks about everyone who died, Nick is just completely forgotten.
he just needed
This is what I'm not getting, why does he need to die on screen? And why does there need to be a reaction? People can die without Clementine being right there, next to them holding their hand through it.
We'll have no idea how he died (its open ended), but it looks like he's been stuck there for awhile and besides him dying and with nobody reacting to his death just makes it all the more poor. What I think makes it all the more worse, there's no after shock for his death, Sarah had some if you left her in the trailer court, but he didn't.
Literally, the writing for him in Amid the Ruins was really poor. Either TT should have killed him in Ep2 or in the firefight. Both would have made sense.
like really I don't believe Nick tripped and got stuck into a fence
How do you even know that happened? What if he turned and then g… moreot caught on to the fence, walkers love clinging to the fence as shown in the show. I can't really excuse the Sarah getting stuck thing though.
For the sake of continuity. Nick got built up and was the main focus of Ep 1 and 2.
"You're lucky my nephew can't shoot for shit." "He's really a good kid." -Pete
"I'm worried about him. Keep an eye out for me will ya?" -Luke
"Nick's a good guy. He's just losing it." -Alvin
His history of depression is shown in the shed. He can drink with Clem. His backstory with his mother and the buck. He's envious of Luke. Uncle Pete's watch. He killed Matthew, do you let him die or do you save him?
He had so much focus in the first two episodes. Then he is thrown to the side even if you save him. That's kind of lazy.

I'm not going to go into his one much but the point is, are you going to let your Clem let go of people who aren't fit to help themselves, or are you going to let her become the type of person who still wants to save people. Not that hard to figure out.
Nicks 2nd death was the laziest thing the series has ever done, he appears in 2 scenes and in one of those hes a zambambo.
Not every… more character death is going to be a moment of glory, people are going to die like that, not a very valid complaint. Even then, it's not something to hate the episode for, characters die every episode, Carlos' death was pretty awfully done, I rarely see people give episode 3 for that, so what's up? It's just that people liked Nick, so when a character they liked dies, the episode is suddenly garbage.
Sarah dies no matter what you do, so whats the point of the option?

Nick was one of the main focuses for episode 1 and 2, not THE main focus. And the choice that determines his fate isn't exactly you saving him or not, it's you telling Walter whether he's a good man or not, it does decide his fate but in the moment your not exactly supposed to know that, which is why I don't find that there should be much reward to keeping him alive.

Okay, maybe I worded that wrong. He was a main character though who got some good development out of the Cabin Group. It would be like killing Kenny or Lilly in Season 1 that early. It made no sense.

Yeah, I thought Pete's words to Nick at the river were hints of some future character arc, but I was most likely wrong, or it was a dropped plot point, but who knows?
"Sooner or later you're going to have to learn a simple truth."
"What? That you're an a-hole?"

He's been doing the episodes of Season 2 kind of quickly, like every two weeks (except for the gap between the first and second episodes). No Going Back's should be out early December.
The trailer was better than the episode. I had such high hopes and I was kind of let down after playing it. But Telltale does have a history of shitty 4th episodes (Around Every Corner, In Sheep's Clothing), what else could I expect from them. They always make it up in the finale.
I'm pretty sure these are sort of meant to be taken as a joke, but I stopped watching at the fifth one. If she was able to say "hey Kenny, guess you know how Lilly felt" in the middle of the hoard, that would literally be the stupidest thing ever.
He said he played this episode 3 times, so he did some where he left her at the trailer park and some where he rescued her. He does that to find more sins and to see the impact of the choices (which in this episode, there was a lack of).

Personally, I was very let down by Amid The Ruins for mishandling the Civil War ruins setting. All it amounted to was a silly, unsubtle statue whose meaning is actually undercut by the bad writing (Sarah literally falls and is forsaken within seconds of getting eaten alive, and nobody cares about Nick or Carlos), a token mention of Lee, and a random poster comparing the zombie apocalypse to the civil war. ("Oh, when will this cruel war ever end?")
To be honest, I think it's disrespectful of America's history to really dismiss the tragedy of the Civil War to just...well, a couple of idiots bickering at each other and doing stupid things. The Civil War was about two governments who fought over one's 'right' to enslave people, and who conscripted reluctant citizens to kill each other for the sake of politics. It was a war created and waged by humans, not some natural disaster beyond anyone's control as the zombie apocalypse is. In other words, you really can't compare the Civil War to a zombie apocalypse without majorly twisting American history.
Far as I'm concerned, they should have LITERALLY had a civil war between Carver's guys and Clem's group - the slavers from the South fighting against escaped slaves in the North. Not only would it be interestingly ironic for history to repeat itself, but it'd take Clem down a very dark, twisted path for her to become a child-soldier. Don't forget that the title slide for the episode implied a scenario where Clem, surrounded by shadowy human figures (they're clearly not zombies) in the dead of night, covers her face with blood while an ominous war-horn plays. The fact that her hat was missing in the title-slide pointed to some major loss of innocence, which never actually happens in the episode we got.
Then again, I guess I'm the only guy who was looking forward to having that happen. =-P
Have to admit they did a better job with this one, It wasnt too long, it was sortof funny but without ti being to personable etc. The sins they chose wernt as random
I can imagine he will put on a ton of sins for Arvo shooting Clem (you can see how much he hates people who harm Clementine), but then deduct sins for the Lee dream, just my guess.

Regarding that statue: I absolutely hate how they handled the symbolism behind it
It got to a point where they were literally bashing you… more over the head with it; it was shoehorned in to basically every single scene
"Guys look at this statue holy fucking SHIT what could it MEAN"
Nicks death was not lazy, you just have to read into it. The walker near by will have fresh blood on his mouth and Nick will have a bite, but if you don't save Nick in 202 then the walker will have no blood. What happened is that Nick went out to get help when him, Luke, and Sarah arrived at the trailer park, he was already bleeding from the time that he got shot and as we know the smell of fresh blood attracts walkers. Nick didn't have a weapon, he was wounded and couldn't fight the walker off or run away leading to the walker biting him. He was left bitten and helpless loosing blood by the second. He knew he would die and turn before he would get to the meet up spot so, Nick being smart stuck his arm in the fence where he hopefully couldn't escape and kill someone after he turned. Sure they never out right say that's what happened in the game but heck it makes a lot more sense then "I'm gonna er... go for helps bye Luc and Serah. oh look I been bited derp derp derp oh look I'm stuck in the fence might as well die, a durr" So yeah, it wasn't lazy. They simply didn't go into depth which really they couldn't since he was already dead. Nicks death could be one of the better handled deaths when you look at it the way I do.

That's an episode 2 problem though :P
I don't know where I'm going with this. I'm sure I had a point somewhere.
The one good thing about Amid The Ruins? The trailer.
Yeah, that happens to me sometimes too :P

I'm gone for an hour and this is what happens.
I can't wait for that guy to do Episode 5 XD
Me too. But I also want him to finish The Wolf Among Us, he only did the first episode, I've been waiting for the second one for a while.
Im surprised he didnt abandoned sarah in the trailer. I dont like sarah a lot, but i dont hate her. Im sure this hate coments are just a joke
