Similarly, Jane twice tried to leave Sarah behind to die, and wanted to leave Rebecca behind as well because she was pregnant.
The reasoning for Jane wanting to leave Sarah behind was that she was putting the group in IMMEDIATE danger. The walkers were breaking down doors before Jane said anything about leaving her behind, also Clementine at this point, had already tried talking her into moving and going with them. Also, the thing with Rebecca... I don't get what you mean by this exactly. If you're talking about when they were walking through the horde, she wasn't leaving her behind because she was pregnant. As she stated, Jane's done this kind of thing before and knew it was best to spread out; clumping together wasn't a safe option at the time.
he clearly knew that she was involved in the Luke plot and had to have seen her pull the walkie talkie out of her pocket, but after Kenny snatched it out of her hand he gladly assigned all of the blame for that incident onto Kenny, giving Clem special treatment.
I don't really know about this part; writers tend to change their characters, like being oblivious to what's going, to be convenient to the plot. Kinda like how afterwards, it was convenient for Carlos to find bandages to fix Kenny's eye up and stuff while they were in the pen.
Kenny, on the other hand, never once in either season showed a propensity towards getting rid of the weaker members of his group. Rather, it was the weakest -- the children -- that he was MOST protective of.
Whenever Kenny lost his cool towards someone (Ben, Arvo, Jane) it was always AFTER they had caused a great threat to his group and the people he cared about the most. He never tried to get rid of any other group members, no matter how much he disagreed with him.
So whenever Jane does a similar thing with Sarah (wanting to leave her behind), she's automatically like Carver, yet Kenny's not? I don't think it's fair to only keep in mind past actions of certain characters because, as I said before, Sarah was going to cause immediate danger to Clem and herself since they were still in the trailer at the time. I find it funny how you say he never wanted to kill any 'weak' members of the group, yet wanted to leave people behind SO MANY TIMES in S1. He wanted to leave Lee to die (determinant), wanted to leave Lilly behind TWICE, (mind you the first time was before she shot Carley/Doug), wanting to leave Omid behind because of his leg, verbally admitting he wishes Ben was dead (in the house later, he admits he would've dropped him if he was in your shoes.)
I think it's all a matter, in this season anyway, about past action and current actions. Kenny wanting to kill off Arvo after what he put the group v.s Jane wanting to leave Kenny because of what he's doing to the group now or in the future. And, I'm not saying you have to approve of the things that Jane did or trying to make you dislike Kenny, I just think Jane has been getting a HELL of lot of hate in by nt seeing thins through her perspective. (and in that, I mean wanting to leave Kenny)
I'm sorry, but he wasn't smart. All he ever did was cause chaos and you aren't able to deny that. He loved to try and rile people up with his awful threads saying dumb shit not even I thought was even possible to be thought up. Bless you, MichaelAngel0. ;.; Take my like. Honestly I'm just really frustrated when I still see threads like these attacking Jane with such… more a limited view.
And I see you're new to the forum, so here's a little (actually long) thread I did defending Jane a loooong time ago, if you have the patience to read through it all XD : http://www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/84634/a-defense-analysis-of-jane?new=1
Clem_is_awesome and Green613, thanks for the responses, even though they are entirely different views on him. But since he's banned, I guess I don't have to worry about it.
Sure. Honestly my thread was more defending Jane; I purposely was trying to not attack Kenny in that thread. Or talk too much about Kenny at all, really.
And yes, there's the "Official" Kenny vs. Jane Megathread the mods made for users to talk about the decision civilly, although there were many threads merged into one there and it's somewhat difficult to follow some discussions because of that. If I were you and you wanted to read through a thorough discussion about it, I'd go to that Megathread link and with "control" + "f" search for the first comment by "romybarboza77" (sorry the link for his comment doesn't work for some reason o.o), who analyzed the fight sequence from Kenny's POV. Honestly though I found a lot of fault with it because he wasn't looking at it from Jane's POV, and I replied over here and we went back and forth a couple times from there. Some of the things I say are the same things I said in my defense thread, but I don't see them said too often elsewhere.
Oh and keep in mind I don't hate Kenny, either. I just get really miffed when people think Jane's a demon and claim that's all there is to her. But I really just don't have the energy to defend her anymore, even if I still want to. And sorry if it seems I get a little aggressive in those old posts.
The reasoning for Jane wanting to leave Sarah behind was that she was putting the group in IMMEDIATE danger.
That's a good point. But her philosophy of how the weak should be left to die if trying to save them will put others in danger could easily evolve at some point to a more Carver-like philosophy about how the weak should be banned from the group to protect the others.
Also, the thing with Rebecca... I don't get what you mean by this exactly.
I'm referring to her trying to talk Clementine into leaving the group with her, because being around a pregnant woman / baby won't be safe. But really the argument is about her overall philosophy being Carver-like and not so much the specifics of what she did or said at various times. Because obviously choosing to leave the group and leaving someone to die or killing them are very different things that are hardly comparable.
From what I remember at least, he never wanted to kick someone out of the group just because they were weak. He had absolutely no problem with Ben until he found out Ben was responsible for the incident that lead to his family's death. Then, obviously, things changed drastically. His hatred for Ben was not because he was weak. It was because he blamed him for his family's death. (And Ben blamed himself for this too, for the record)
And I don't remember him wanting to leave Omid behind, but I'm guessing it was just after they had met him and he wasn't a part of the group yet. And even then I'm guessing it was an off-hand comment more than him actively trying to convince everyone that Omid should be left behind.
He had no problem with Sarah or Rebecca or AJ or Clem (season 1) or Ben (pre-reveal). These people were not helping the group much, yet Kenny was looking out for them as well as anyone else.
So I don't really see how you can possibly suggest that Kenny had the same philosophy of leaving the weak behind as Jane did. They're not really comparable at all on this front.

I don't hate her, but I do think that it was her plan to get Kenny killed in that fight, either by her hand or Clem's. And I think that one act is so much more evil than anything Kenny has ever done, so I do think choosing to shoot Kenny is the wrong choice.
But she's a very interesting character. They did a great job with that scene and the setup, as proven by how much people want to debate this. Tough moral decisions and shades of gray are what this series is all about, after all.

So what happened to Kenny, that didn't happen to everyone else, before his VERY stupid plan to rush the 3 machine gun wielding guys the moment they opened the delivery truck? What did Arvo do to get beat bloody at the unfinished house? Ran away from the thin ice, and walkers
Well, Carver shot and killed Walter, and Alvin determinately, and held Clem at gun point determinately. That is by far a justifiable reason. And yes Kenny's plan was stupid, I'll admit that, but he was trying to help the group.
Arvo ran away from the group, and distracted everyone, and got Luke and Bonnie determinately killed. He also tried to flee the group when they clearly had him prisoner.
Jane twice tried to leave Sarah behind to die, and wanted to leave Rebecca behind as well because she was pregnant.
Conveniently, yo… moreu forget how: 1) She still stays, and doesn't force Clem to leave Sarah, if she decides to talk her out of the trailer. She also could've died seeing as she was the one holding back the walkers, single-handedly, for most of the time there. 2) Sarah's 2nd death could've been avoided, if Jane was given cover while she was supposed to be helping Sarah; everyone just stood and watched. 3) She still turned back, and saved Rebecca, despite how she felt about her.
Whenever Kenny lost his cool towards someone (Ben, Arvo, Jane) it was always AFTER they had caused a great threat to his group and the people he cared about the most. He never tried to get rid of any other group members, no matter how much he disagreed with him.

You're welcome, even though you aren't as new as I thought haha. You should have been here when the season 2 finale came out, that was when the Jane vs Kenny debates were at it's peak.
When will people understand Jane was trying to protect Clementine from Kenny, a man that Jane was wary of and perceived as a threat to the survival of an eleven year old. Is it good? No. But neither was slinging a nearly 100lb saltlick on an unconscious man, and I don't hear any of the Kenny fans thinking that was bad. In fact, they applaud him for his senseless violent action.
I guess that's just evil to some people. Not because it's wrong, but because it's Kenny that is the clear danger this time.
Yes, Kenny needs anchors.
He becomes depressed if he loses them and almost comes to a point of just being a shell. I remember Sarita talk… moreing about how she found Kenny in a diner and his beard was longer than it was in S2. Kenny just doesn't care when he has nothing...
When I was deciding to either go into Wellington or stay with Kenny this topic came into mind. Kenny through both seasons had a goal...To survive and take care of his family in S1 and later in S1 protect Clem for Lee. In S2 it was to protect Clem and the group and later on to protect Clem and AJ. I feel like if Clem and AJ went into Wellington Kenny would feel at rest and finally accept he has finished his purpose. In both Seasons he failed at his tasks....His family died and he never found out what happened to Clem...In season two most of the group died. If Clem and AJ left him then he would probably go into the forest and shoot himself...As sad as it is...That's why I we… [view original content]
He constantly tries to protect the weak...Well children mostly, he sees a future in them...The possibility to be who they want and it's good. He wants AJ and Clem to be raised right even if that means not with him. I found it quite funny and sad at the same time when he mentioned he didn't want to cuss around AJ because he didn't deserve that. I feel like Kenny is more complicated than we give him credit for...We either see God or we see an asshole. I saw an asshole but one who had a good heart...I honestly think of Kenny as a good guy while writing this. I keep trying to realize all the stuff he did wrong...He did indeed do things wrong but...He did it trying to help people...To save the people he cared about.
Katjaa, Duck, Clem, Lee, Sarita, Walter, AJ...He just wanted to protect them all. It makes it easier to see why he lashed out at Jane. ne of the few things he could still protect in this world was just killed, even if it was an accident it still caused him to lose apart of himself and his resulting Humanity. He lashed out and determinately killed Jane...Was he in the wrong, yes...But did he do it for a good reason, sort of. It's quite debatable and honestly i'm not looking for a fight tonight.
I lurked for most of Season 2 before I even created an account...
It's quite debatable with myself if I made the right choice. I feel like in the end I made enemies and I made friends like you (I hope at least. :P) and I also made best friends like Gustav, Green, Salt, Hope...A lot of people. It's quite strange looking on the past...Wait...How did I get to the point of talking about this. XD

All comes down to semantics. I lurked for several months before I posted here, I consider people still new until they've broken 50 posts.;)

I miss Lemocakes tbh. He had some of the wittiest and most creative insults interwoven within logical posts I've ever seen on the forums lol.

I couldn't agree with this post more. Kenny had his flaws too but overall I'd rather have him watching over Clem than Jane.
