We are currently looking into an issue where the Season Pass is not downloading correctly on the Xbox One, and hope to have it resolved soon. In the mean time, you can download and play Episode 1, as it is a separate download from the Season Pass. Please note that you still own the Season Pass on your Xbox Live profile, even though you cannot download a 'Season Pass' file at this time.
yes. this is complicated, because there seems to be 2 versions of the Tales of Borderlands Season Pass. Both of which are apparently cloud based DRM / liscenses ( The Manage ) feature for one of the 2 passes is less of an issue, but the Bundle seems to want you to rebuy it. On top of this, the Games FRONTEND must be patched again, to actually look for the correct season pass. However, this whole snowball is being held together by the fact that Microsoft keeps a past transaction purchase record. I have reason to believe there is absolutely NO DRM/liscense being downloaded to the console, and any Season pass content will have to be verified remotely unless they change it to download the SP DRM. Which can cause issues due to the way the XBOX One requires its liscenses to be on the internal drive ( or verified remotely by being ONLINE ), which causes issues with installations on USB drives, and trying to play the content while offline. Hence a snowball. Caveat being, if you can manage the content, that each episode downloaded comes with its own liscense #, then all is well. The Season Pass doesn't have to carry a liscense, but when there is more than one version of the SP, and the console cannot recognize if you have bought it without checking Microsoft's purchase history... there can be trouble. I don't doubt that the individual Season Pass is probably working as intended, because Sunset Overdrive uses the same method, along with the new Lara Croft Arcade, but the game needs patched to look for the correct season pass, and not re-charge because the bundle came with an incorrect one saved in its purchase history log.
Yes, you're over reacting, IMO. If you have the collection you own the pass. If, like me, you purchased the season seperately, you still own… more it according to MS, the pass just isn't downloading just yet. Seeing as episode 2 has not yet been released, TT and MS have time to fix it and there are several replies in this thread that they are working on it. It's annoying, yes and I'd be amongst the first to complain if we don't see a fix before episode 2 is released. Until then I'll be checking back here for updates.
yes. there are a 2 or 3 different scenarios going on here. There seems to be at least 2 different Season Pass " Identifications " for the Tales Borderlands game. Neither of which downloads any file or proof you own a season pass to your XBOX. In the long run, this probably won't mean much, BUT... Telltale is going to HAVE to fix the issue with the game before episode 2 comes out. They are going to have to make sure their system recognizes the individual purchase of the season pass, along with the bundle purchase. Its a 0 KB download, so no DRM in either case is downloading to your console. The ONLY proof of owning the Pass, is because Microsoft has a past purchase history, and 99% of the time, it catches if you already have bought it or not. In neither case, the actual GAME frontend cannot recognize this as of yet, because it is searching the console for the PASS. It cannot find it on the console, and sends you to one of two Xbox store pages. One the individual pass, or 2 the bundle pass. The latter is messed up worse than the individual pass for the game.
To Break it down more..........
1:) One scenario, is that the Borderlands Tales Season Pass, will come up as " Manage " . If that comes up, odds are, that is how that installation of the Pass will be the method to install future content. ( Sunset Overdrive currently uses this method, and it works ). Unfortunately, the Borderland Tales GAME frontend, will need to be updated to account for this, because right now, it cannot find a season pass installed and doesn't know to look online for it. Hopefully, before episode 2 DLC comes out, when you click it in game, it will come up with " Manage Content ".
2:) Another scenario, is that if you bought the bundle, its a different file structure than just buying the BL SP by and of itself. In fact, you might be getting a message that you have not bought the pass, and that it costs $14.99 ( or whatever sale price ). This is recorded on Microsoft's end as an " Alternate SP " purchase. Again, the GAME frontend will need to be patched more throroughly to look for all records of a Tales of BL SP purchase.
3:) You have the game installed on a USB drive, but in the dashboard, the installation directory for any content is to install to internal. Normally, not an issue. However, if there is no DRM liscense on the internal drive of the XBOX, it will want you to buy it again. As TellTaleMike has been saying, the XBOX One needs the Episode 1 Game/Frontend to begin with. So, you may have Episode 1 on a USB drive, but no DRM saying you own the Season Pass, which is another episodic mess. Hopefully, again, If the Microsoft store catches the fact you have bought it before, it will have the manage option, otherwise, it's the second version of the pass, and will charge another fee. This scenario is BAD, because when new content comes in, it will install new content on internal drive. If the content itself has DRM attached to it, there should be no issue, but getting to the point to download it... they have to fix. Telltale games needs to get ONE version of the Season Pass on the market, and to be able to play it offline, the safe way would be to have it download the file to the internal drive. As it is now, there is absolutely NO evidence any liscense is correctly being downloaded to internal drive of the XBOX One.

Same experience as others I guess. Bought episode 1 from the marketplace on xbox one and then once that was downloaded and installed I then purchased the season pass. I know that the other episodes haven't been released yet, but the lack of confirmation that I have bought the pass is concerning. I'm a bit wary of doing anything else as I don't want to end up paying for it twice.
I've checked my Xbox account payment log and it says I bought both the first episode and the season pass, I hope that means I do indeed have both and it's not an error.
Is the same for me since, i also wait for a fix til the release of episode 2, when it is still not fixed, i hope Telltale will make the Episode 2 available for free, because i'm sure as hell i am not going to pay for it again like i had to do with Wolf Among Us

Thanks for the update TelltaleMike. As a friendly idea you might want to make a sticky post about this at the forums top so maybe you dont have to play pete and repete. Toss in your make sure you have downloaded ep 1 info and use it to update us all. Thanks again
Does anyone know why I can't download the season pass fate I bought the TTGC? TelltaleMike please. Will I be able to download it later do free or will I have to pay for it
No, just no. Free for everyone? Then if the season pass issue gets resolved we get less for the price and people who didn't bother buying it get something for nothing. MS know who has purchased it and I suspect the reason it's taking so long is because of the Christmas holiday. If it is not resolved by the time episode 2 is out I will contact MS and get them to add episode 2 to my account.
I would demand that - when its not fixed til the release of episode two - that Episode 2 is free for everyone, Season Pass or not. Sorry Tel… moreltale but that would be the only way to not call the wrath of the community upon you ;D
Until now i not have given up the hope that it will be resolved. But if not do as i told you.
If you have purchased the Season Pass, please note that you still own it. We are currently working with Microsoft to resolve an issue where it does not download to your Xbox. If you have not done so yet, you can download Episode 1, which is a separate download from the Season Pass, and you will be able to play.
Greeeeat to see I'm not the only one having problems
My Problem is, I just bought Borderlands EP1 for checking if i like it (I definitely do, I love it). so I bought the telltale games collection with the 5 games on xbox one but unfortunately the Borderlands Season Pass isn't shown there and it says I have to buy it..
Naah, i think you guys can fix this and hope it will be early.
If I don't have to pay again everything is alright
I still got 4 more games to play for now! So See ya!
We are currently working with Microsoft to update the Season Pass page to show that it has already been purchased. Please note that you still own the game, and will be able to download the later episodes when they are released.

I purchased the "The Telltale Games Collection" from the "Store" section on the Xbox One. All of the various items that were listed as included downloaded except for the "Tales from the Borderlands" Season Pass. After wasting an hour with Microsoft support they told me I needed to speak with you. I've read multipile similar issues on the Xbox.com forums. How long until we can expect this issue to be resolved?
To cover a few of your future "suggestions" :
1) In the Xbox One store the Telltale games bundle is listed as "Manage" not purchase
2) Every item in the bundle is listed as play or download except the tales from the borderlands season pass
3) MSFT had me perform a number of task with my account to "resolve" the issue including a hard reset of my console, deleting and redownloading all of the bundle's content and deleting my account (and all of it's cache items) from my console and re-downloading.
None of these issues were helpful. They also suggested I "wait, it should resolve itself"...... It's been four weeks...
I'd be happy to supply you (confidentially) with my Microsoft Order Number and Gamertag. If this issue can't be resolved prior to the first DLC instalment I'd appreciate a gratis 25-digit DLC code.
My apologies, unfortunately at this time I do not have an update on the issue. We are currently working with Microsoft to resolve the issue, and hope to have more information in the near future.
There's an update for TFTB which now shows my season pass as purchased. Doesn't show up in the manage game section, but it does on the in-game doc menu. If you bought the Season Pass and haven't booted the game up in a while, do it know and the problem should be patched. Cheers
Not quite fixed for Telltale Collection owners yet, but at least it's not linking to the separate entry in the store like it was before. Just now needs that specific store item linked to the collection.
EDIT: Seeing how Game of Thrones Episode 2 was handled, I guess Telltale will be able to simply add the borderlands episodes to the collection instead of bothering with the season pass download.

What's also strange that today I got a updatewho knows what for and now it shows Buy TFBL season pass for 14.99,Before it showed pin to dashboard but now I gotta re-buy it?When the telltale games package was on sale for gold,i bought it and everything thing was finebefore it would not let me load into any game but that's fixedim just wondering when this problem will be resolved.
Starting to lose my cool now, taking the p1ss, obviously the reason that episode 2 has been delayed is because of this problem, so they have more time to sort it out, no real reassurances and the same old response of 'we are working with microsoft to fix this problem', not really good enough. Surely it cant be that hard to rectify within the time given. Im guessing that they have other 'prioritys'. Used to have a lot of respect for Telltale, but it seems like the bigger these companys get, the less they seem to care about their public relations in regards to issues. Im hoping they sort it out soon. I wont hold my breath though.
After 2.5GB title update everything is looking good now(xbox one). I buy the season pass separately few weeks ago, not the collection. After starting the game it shows i purchased season pass and all dlc, there is no option to buy again. It did not download anything like Game Of Thrones did the season pass file(or i just dont noticed). Thank you for the fix. Please Telltale, dont make this fault again on the next game. I hope you learn the lesson.
I appreciate the constant work to try and fix the problem with the season pass not showing up for people who have bought the telltale games collection, but it would be nice to hear stuff from you as things progress. Because I feel like we have been in the dark throughout this whole situation and I don't know if we are close to a conclusion or not.
Well something similiar happend back with Wolf Among us, everybody who bought the season pass on Xbox at least had to "buy" the Episode 2 or 3 cant remember, but it was a similiar problem.

Yes we don't even know if we will can play the episode 2 when he is coming . but if we can't continue with our choice like the episode 2 of games of throne that's sucks as well
