In the End Who Are You With?

I'm curious to know whether people chose Kenny or Jane and why they chose said character.

In the end, my Clementine is with Kenny and Aj. We left Wellington after I decided I wasn't going to lose Kenny too after I just lost Jane. I loved Jane's character and thought she was really good for Clementine. Starting in episode 4 I got the sense that my ultimate decision was going to be to choose between Kenny and Jane. I initially I thought that I was going to choose Jane. Then Kenny said some things while the group is resting by the power supply. I'm not going to repeat what he says, but what he says redeems him in my eyes. I want to give him another chance to prove himself to me. The only people Kenny cared about protecting were Sarita and Clementine, except in the aftermath of Sarita's death. Kenny doesn't care about what anyone else thinks because in the end he only cares about protecting himself and Clementine. When Jane "loses" Aj, I first thought she did something. Then I thought well, maybe it was an accident; it sucks that Aj's gone, but either way, at least we don't have that burden anymore. But I was more upset with Jane for losing Aj, even if it was an accident. I tried to stop the fight, but I couldn't bring myself to shoot Kenny. I felt as though you're meant to, but I took Kenny as 'fallen, but never forsaken'. I felt like if the developers what Kenny dead, they're going to have to do it. In that moment, I didn't feel like Kenny deserved to die. I didn't see him as an Old Yeller. I didn't think Jane deserved to die either, but I think it's such a betrayal to kill Kenny when Jane is being so manipulative. She knew Kenny wouldn't let them leave with Aj and that Clem possibly wouldn't go with her unless Kenny was out of the picture. She figures that out back at Arvo's crib when Clem darts out mid convo as soon as Kenny starts the truck. She manipulates Clementine into helping to her kill someone she cares about to prove a point...to protect Clementine, but it's Clementine's decision to decide whether or not she trust Kenny. Kenny was an asshole, but he wasn't manipulative. He and Jane were both ruthless, but in different ways. I didn't have as much time to build up the same emotional rapport with Jane as I had Kenny. My Clementine saw Kenny as family. Jane was just a really good friend, on her way to becoming family, but not on that level just yet. Family is forever and I had to choose Kenny over Jane. With Lee, Christa & Omid, and everyone else from her original S1 crew gone, Kenny was her only family left and my Clementine wasn't ready to give that up just yet. Plus I thought that Kenny would be better suited to help Clem raise a baby. Jane is the more more logical choice, but I had to choose Kenny.

So, in the end who are you with, Kenny or Jane? and Why?

  • Jane and that family, I wasnt going to be with Kenny or by myself so that leaves Jane who I dont really like either

  • ehh, why not alone ending? just kinda curious

  • Jane and Kenny while irritating will do ANYTHING to protect clementine so its wise to keep Jane around (I've said before why I chose her over Kenny). Going alone with a newborn isnt a good idea, I dont consider the alone ending good your basically watching clementine commit suicide by her walking into a zombie horde with an infant liable to cry at any moment. I know she'll be fine for the plot but she shouldnt really have any chance by herself

Why didn't u want to go with Kenny? Why didn't you like Jane? Is there a character that you would've liked to see Clementine end up with?

This is like the second or third one of these in the past week, it's not a big deal or anything, just pointing it out.

But to answer your question, I am with Kenny and AJ. Kenny for me is my best friend in the game, he was with Lee and he was with Clementine. In the second season, we see him become a sort of second father like figure to Clementine now that Lee is gone and you see him literally do anything to protect Clementine, he lost an eye for Clementine for crying out loud. Kenny has always been one of my favorite characters and we have been through so much together. I couldn't abandon or turn my back on him, I consider him family, and it seems that Kenny considers you family as well, he does look at Clementine as his own family. He puts his family aand those he considers family above all things, even himself, so when he see an opportunity to ensure Clem and AJ's safety at Wellington, he pleads with Edith to let them in at any cost. He's literally giving up the last two people he considers family as well as the only two people holding him together. Both Clem and AJ give Kenny a sort of purpose to live, to keep on going. He was saying earlier how he wanted to raise AJ like he should have raised Duck, and when he thinks Jane killed him, he lost it. But when he discovers AJ is alive, he becomes himself again, not to mention how he said, "everything just went black" when he thought AJ was dead. Deciding to stay at Wellington, while it would fulfill Kenny's purpose, would also probably be the end of him and cause him to finally snap.

In short, Kenny is my friend, and I don't turn my back on my friends. We've been through so much together and Clem and AJ are the ones keeping him sane. Kenny needs them, and what kind of friend would I be, if I wasn't there for him now. Crazy or not, I'm with him until the end, he can count on me.

  • I chose to go with Kenny in the end. I love Kenny and felt like he's lost too much already. Besides Jane was one of my least favorite characters in season 2 (I'm sorry).

  • The final choice of Season 2, in my opinion, was one of the hardest decisions in either game. Even though I read what would happen, when I got to playing, it was eating away inside me. All choices in S1 and S2 I took with a calm cool head. Throughout playing Episode 5, and during pauses, I kept weighing pros and cons. I was getting sick to my stomach, this was no joke.

Then, the moment came when Jane and Kenny were fighting to the death. And only my Clem had to make the ultimate choice.
In previous posts, I mentioned what happened.

Chose Jane and let the family into Howe's hoping to start a new group.

I was partially upset with Jane's decision, but I decided I wanted an ending where I was with someone. Hence forth, I've given myself a credo, for my mindset in the Walking Dead world. Kinda like the War Doctor's message, only mines not as dark:

    NEVER ALONE
    NEVER AGAIN

  • Jane's a cool cat, so I stuck by her, and I'm chilling with the family at Howes.

Neither. Just with AJ. I didn't want to be around Kenny or Jane, and I was forced to make that choice. Killed Kenny because he was on the offensive, and I don't want to watch somebody die. I told Jane to screw off and I ditched her with AJ. The ending is kind of weird but I liked it the most.

I approached the ending in the most logical concise way I could. I thought to myself about all the turmoil Kenny put me through and promptly pulled the trigger without hesitation. And, given the option to leave Jane for the way she used me to help her kill a man she was too cowardly to kill herself. I refused to forgive her and left, feeling ten-feet tall.

    Finally, Clementine's free.

  • Went with Jane to Howes and took the family in.

  • Same here!

Kenny. I think killing Kenny and letting her get away with it would be giving her what she wanted this whole time. She can blamed for a lot of the group's problems. She needed to go after all the trouble she caused in a short time span. I feel if you went with her you would allow her inflict a life of darwinism on Clem and AJ and manipulate them both into becoming bottom feeding scum like her. If you want to be blind about go walk with that psycho but me and my Clem our eyes are wide fuckin open :). Her and Bonnie are on my shit list

I had Clementine stay with Kenny.
    They left Wellington together.

My Reason: Personally I saw Jane as selfish. When she told Clementine that she didn't owe the group anything right before she left, I was like "Woah, wait a minute!"
If it hadn't been for Kenny and the others, Clementine would not have been where she was at, and that was reasonably safe.
Admittedly Jane had some good points about her, but overall she just sounded and acted selfish.

When she left, I knew that she couldn't be trusted.
If she left once, she'd do so again, especially when the chips were down.
And when she appeared without A.J, I thought she had done something to him.
She had already made it abundantly clear that viewed the baby as an unnecessary liability, and therefore was not thrilled that he was around.
When her and Kenny started fighting, I helped Kenny as much as possible.

    Kenny, showed that he cared.
He entrusted Clementine with many important tasks, showing he had confidence in her, and encouraged her to have confidence in herself.
He took the heat when Clementine had the radio, thus protecting her from Carver's wrath.
And he looked after Clementine, even after he lost Sarita.

Kenny and My Lee were pals in Season 1, even though Lee didn't agree with Kenny on everything.
When Clementine went missing, and I had Lee volunteer to go search for her alone, Kenny refused to let Lee do so, even though he was not aware that Lee had been bitten, as I had Lee hide his bite from the group.
And Kenny was the one I had Lee choose to look after Clementine, as I'd seen how he was with his family.
So I not only did I like Kenny, but I also knew what to expect from him, and therefore trusted him.

That's why I had Clementine stay with Kenny.
Kenny demonstrated that he saw Clementine like his own daughter, and like any father, wanted the best for her.
And after seeing how hard it was for Kenny to leave her at Wellington, I just couldn't have Clementine abandon him.
Thus, they walked off into the sunset together, toward their next adventure.

DISCLAIMER: Just to be clear, I am not going to participate in another Kenny vs Jane arguments.
    I'm done with all that!
Quite frankly those arguments are ridiculous, as this is only a videogame.
So if anyone wants to write hate comments and tell me why I shouldn't support Kenny, or why Kenny is a bad guy, I will not respond to them.
Not trying to be confrontational, but after having people do that to me time and again; and being rude about it even when I was always civil, I just felt I needed to make that clear.

  • I choose leave Wellington with Kenny and AJ, #TeamKenny :D

  • "Awwwwww, you're already calling him your brother?!" Said every aunt ever.

  • Ditched Wellington and left with Kenny. Not leaving my last friend and connection to Lee behind.

  • Left with Kenny,Clem,AJ because without kenny no more memories of lee and Clementine needs to remember him also Kenny is a
Strong and caring guy (Not Crazy)

  • Thank you for really exclaiming your choice. I enjoyed reading it
