  • It's obvious why Arvo shot Clem. He was still sour about what happened with Natasha...and if you were in Arvo's place you'd probably take the open shot too.

He shot Clem specifically to get the audience to hate him and retroactively root for Kenny, even though there was no in-universe explanation

  • edited February 2015

Yes, that is the reason why, but it's also kinda weak because it was a misunderstanding that could have been easily fixed with a conversation the writers kept from happening. I wish they would have let Clem have more conversations with him so we could have explained it, but plot called for her to get shot. .-.

And besides, if I was trying to escape a crazy violent man I'd be more concerned with getting away than with some revenge that doesn't even kill the person I'm shooting at. I mean, if Arvo wanted to kill her he would have went for the head. That, or he's just a terrible shot.

Oh yeah, it shouldn't have been a problem

In my play thru the shot comes after I call for Kenny and Jane so there was no point in staying quiet anymore. If you remain silent he shoots anyway, but he probably didn't care about making it out alive...he's got nothing else to lose save for his own life which is bleak now that Natasha is gone.

Shooting Clem in the head would be a mercy...if I were him I'd want to leave her for dead to become a walker.

Possibly, but I still think that if he was 100% bent on revenge that he'd just grab a gun and shoot Clem, Jane, and Kenny while they were sleeping or something. He mainly wanted to just get away, but Clem showed up and he saw his chance for revenge and took it no matter how much it fucked up the original plan.

Yeah, he took the revenge shot because he had the chance to do so

  • Pretty much. for example yesterday i tried to get a new cellphone Friend wants me to try out Androids, so i finnaly agreeed to get a samsung galaxy. so i went to the ATT store, and they told me that i was denied when running the credit check, . That made me extremely angry, because i know i have good credit, and i just placed a bid on a house, two days ago, but i'm being denied for a cellphone... so i 'm walking outside, and i start to drive Angely, because i was mad. I started to slip and slide around, because we just had a blizzard earlier this morning, well i better calm down, so i did.

I ended up checking my credit score, it was fine. Then i called ATT, they told me that i apparently owed two dollars from when i was a kid, that was the reason why my account was denied. I just shake my head man and laugh.

  • I don't think anyone will truly shut up about Kenny.

The guy's been a fire starter since the first episode of S1, and arguments still break out to this very day about him. He has a presence I don't think is ever going to fully go away, even after he's dead. He's just that polarizing.

Wait until he's dead in season 3, everyone will shut up I guess....

Fair enough. Although my opinion is that Kenny's an asshole, which is why I state it so bluntly in the first place. I typically state things without much apropos, that's just how I am.

It has now, but it hasn't lived as long as the Kenny obsession which lasted o the forum for about 8 months.

Soon people will just forget about him. They'll be outcries of those who want him to be in every single season 3 episode when he died, of course, but after that the forum will start talking about subjects more interesting.

You can at least completely disagree with all of Jane's actions in episode 4.

You're not even allowed to say 'no' when Kenny asks you if you trust him in episode 3.

Your options are 'I trust you', 'Is this a good idea?' or something else I can't remember, but you are not given the option to say no.

If we're given the option to say yes we should absolutely be given the option to say no.

  • The option to say no more to kenny woulda been nice b/c in No Going Back, if you didn't side with Kenny on the important choices Kenny could've attacked Clementine as well as Jane

  • The fact that you can make Jane help save sarah is basically being able to call her out.

We never get to influence Kenny's actions.

This is, in my opinion, the whole point about the Kenny vs Jane scenario for me. Jane is flawed. Kenny is flawed. Jane can and does improve under the influence of Clementine. Kenny has never shown himself capable of doing so in season 2.

  • I like Kenny, although I don't agree with bringing other characters down to make another character look better. (Even though I didn't like Jane or Lilly that much) but at least you aren't trying to change everyone's view on him!

Kenny does get hate but so does every character and I know how shitty that feels, to have someone ridicule your favourite character when you believe they don't deserve it. I know it feels bad but you just need to think, not everyone will have the same opinion, I can't think of any person that everyone in the world can agree is a good person or someone who doesn't receive any hate at all. This is because every person will receive hate at one point in their life, even for minor things and sometimes you just have to accept that there is nothing you can do to change their mind and just get on with your own life. Don't let how other people feel about a character affect the way you feel otherwise you will just make yourself upset, it's usually best to just ignore it and think 'well, as long as I know he is a good guy then what they think shouldn't matter right?'. You probably don't want a pep talk but decided to give one to anyone who wants one? I'm feeling the same way right now about Luke so I wanted to help others who feel the same about their favourite characters!

  • I dont really personally think i want Kenny to change tbh, because the reason i like him is because of his personality. But it probably would be good if there was an option in there, there SHOULD be an option for all players but i guess there arent. this is exactly why im hoping telltale makes the endings into branching paths in season 3, so we have a lot of diversity and we'll get to be with who we want and maybe even see a bunch of determinant story

I mean when people do stuff like that, some are bound to retaliate with a gif of their favorite character dying and then start more pointless arguments. Like back when Kenny vs Jane thing was fresh, people would post a gif of Kenny/Jane dying and someone else would reply showing a gif of Jane/Kenny dying and then we have more arguments. Anyways I'm done talking about this, I think it's best to just end it.

They can. Just in a way that explains why you hate them instead of just calling them a piece of shit and show a gif of them dying. That would start more stupid arguments. • i wont deny that no, but without his flaws he would become bland and therefor a throwaway character, and also stop being relatable to me (of course i would still try to keep him around as long as possible though). He reminds me a lot of my dad, and i agree with a lot of things kenny does (not beating up arvo hell no not that). So i dont know if i want him to change either

  • That's just so not true.

Almost every single character in the walking dead isn't as flawed as Kenny, and they aren't all bland.

A character doesn't have to be mean to be well written.

  • I dont like him because he's mean, because its very clear from the get-go he wants to be a good person, from the way he is during his introductions in both seasons. He just doesnt have the capability to do good things because his mind doesnt work that way, he very clearly has mental problems but that still doesnt stop him from trying to be a good person. He just thinks all of his actions ARE the right actions, which isnt true. And i think that nearly the entire cast of season 2 was bland, they all had very little flaws. and they were all terribly uninteresting excluding Nick, Sarah and Walter (and even then, they were all off'd before given a conclusion) Kenny's endings and his determinant death all at least feel like conclusions, and i personally think they were all written amazingly. The more flawed a character is, the more realistic they are, and also relatable. I didnt give 2 shits about any of the characters who died in season 2 (excluding ones ive listed above). and again, i dont think he's mean, and even when he is, that still reminds me heavily of family.
