If Lee were still here, how do you think Season 2 would've played out?

In all honesty, I would've prefered to play as Lee, instead of Clementine.
Due to his age, and experience, Lee carried more authority then Clementine, and it was easier for others to respect him, and to listen to what he had to say.

Though I like Kenny, his uncontrolled anger broke the group up.
Obviously; Kenny was in a real bad place, but the point is, if Lee has been there, I think the group would've stayed together, and they would've reached Wellington.
Ones like Jane and Mike might not have agreed about Wellington, but as long as the group had a cool headed man leading them, like Lee, I don't think they would've done what they did.

Uncontrolled anger is the most toxic element in society today.
It can ruin business relationships, friendships, and even families.
That's why it is so crucial, for all of us, to work on having self-control.

Lee was pretty much the only person who could put Kenny's ass in check. With out shooting him anyway. So I agree, the group dynamic would've been a lot better with Lee around.

Edit: Also, I think a rivalry or a determinant partnership between Lee and Carver would've been a lot more interesting than that Chancellor Palpatine shit they tried to pull with Clem.

  • Well this series wouldn't have as many awards if he was still alive.

  • They could've killed Clementine instead..... I'm kidding.

  • Lee might've been friends with Luke and looked after everyone. He'd also have a big fight with Carver and possibly prevent Kenny from falling in madness.

  • I assume there wouldn't be a16 month skip in the game and possibly Chita and Omid would still be alive. He would still treat Clem mostly like a child. I don't think they would be traveling north either. At least my Lee was weary about large groups. And we wouldn't have met the cabin group nor howe's survivors.

  • Lee was one of those people who, as long as you were reasonable to deal with, you could get along with him. Luke, Rebecca (after the first episode) and Kenny are easy to deal with when you can say the right things to them. Lee may not have stopped Bonnie and Mike, but Luke probably would not have died as easily and Jane would not have gotten away with her sneaky convincing behavior. Jane, Bonnie and Mike would have been sent away from the group if possible.

  • Depends on how you play him. It would be more difficult with Kenny. Carver would be a huge problem and Clementine wouldn't be the same little girl as before. I think he would have differences with Rebecca's and Carlos' distrusting and harsh nature but care for both.

  • I think that if he was still alive, the Season could be about adjusting to Clementine's stone cold behavior. Like, in Season 1 you're preparing her for the world, but in the Season 2 time skip she's adjusted way too much and Lee needs to get used to it. And while Lee tries to adjust, he can't. So he tries to re-teach Clementine how to still have feelings and letting her emotions run without hiding them away.

Lee: "Hey Ben" Nick: "...I'm not Ben" Lee: "Oh...ugh. Sorry..."

  • I doubt his death made any difference. Killing off Lee was the stupidest decisions they ever made. I already bought the game, what does it matter if they kill him off at the end. You bought the game, are you saying you wouldn't of bought the game if he lived through Season 1?

Lee's Absence of Season two is what KILLED season two. They didn't know how to portray Clementine in a realistic protagonist.

I kinda disagree with you, of course S1 would be awesome anyway, but, at least IMO, Lee's death is what makes S1 so emotional, it's the only scene in the game that made me cry like a baby, and I think it was a perfect ending for Lee's story. Dying to protect someone you love.

  • They could of wrote something just as emotional, IE the scene where Joel falls and gets hurt in the hospital.

It didn't have to be his death. Nope. I disagree.

Joel's injury in the hospital was less of a raw emotional scene to make people cry and more of a shift in narrative tone to show Ellie's own story through possibly some of worse of how a cycle of violence can affect someone. She's never the same after the fall chapter, and by the end almost seems suicidal.

The Lee death scene was the end of a plot entirely, and was used as a raw emotional scene. It was a resolution, Joel falling was really a lead up to a climax for Ellie.

  • The way I see it the only real way of really giving Season 1 its reputation was with a dramatic event, something we will always remember. The two most important characters were obviously Lee and Clementine, so something had to happen to either. Since Lee was the protagonist and Clem's personality had yet to be fully contoured, we could find ourselves in him more than in any other character. If Kenny or Christa or whomever died, sure it would have been a bummer, but I would just brush it off in a few seconds. But with Lee...

  • Carlos might have gotten away with one or two hostile remarks directed at Clem before Lee broke his jaw.

  • i bought the game when it came out. When did I ever say I wouldn't have bought the game??? All I'm saying is it had a big impact on the story. Think what you want but I like both seasons equally.

  • Damn right. And Nick (bless his heart) would've died after that misfire.

  • I think the story would've went in a different direction, which we would not meet the cabin group or see Kenny.

  • Well, if it roughly followed the Season 2 story, we could've fought Carver, which might've been pretty damn fun/intense if done right. Honestly the most disappointing thing about playing as Clem imo is that we didn't get any tense QTE sequences (unless you count Sam) like Andy St. John and the Stranger.

  • No one can deny the similarities. Not even my main man, Lee.

  • I think, the fact that Clementine's opinions were never really observed, was the biggest problem.
Though it was realistic, after all what adult is gonna listen to what a child tells them?

Subjective opinion. Personally to me, getting stabbed would be worse than being shot, but everyone is different.

The Lee death scene was the end of a plot entirely

I understand this, they never thought this game would be such a success it was, that is why they killed off their main character. I am not sure if they envisioned a sequel or not. When they had to continue the story with the main writers gone we got season 2.
