Jane because she would survive longer, can fight and protect Clem better, teach Clem to be a survivor and is street smart

Definitely Christa. In the two years Clem and Christa were together, Clem learned to stitch, start a fire, keep a fire going, and presented herself as a mother like figure. Jane on the other hand, "taught" Clem the knee trick and to search dead Walkers, and acted as a sister figure. However, Jane did teach Clem to watch out for the immobile but still living walkers. Jane also fulfilled Clem's childhood fantasy of having a sister, but, in my opinion, Christa provided more for Clementine.
Christa kept Clem alive for over 4 times as long as Lee did.
You can say 'oh time means nothing', but in the zombie apocalypse you have little more than your life, and being a competent protector is a big part of what being a parent is.

Christa/Omid made Clem go into the bathroom all by herself, without checking it, before the time skip. They had no idea what cou… moreld've been in there... walkers, bandits, murderers, rapists.... It was completely irresponsible of them because they cared about "kissing stuff" more than protecting little Clem. As someone who has a lot of children in my family that I see on a regular basis and knew my whole life, hearing people say that Christa is good for Clem simply because she was there longer than Lee or whatever absolutely enrages me. Christa and Omid suck as parents and that is the truth. I will never change my mind on this.
About Jane--do I really have to say?
Well, the dynamic between Clementine and Jane is not maternal...it's more of a sister/mentor dynamic...so obviously Christa makes a better mother figure for Clementine. They're both good for Clementine for different reasons. Christa is the motherly figure and Jane is the sister/friend...both perspectives are helpful for healthy socialization

Christa teaching Clem to sew up wounds...did she, really? Or did Clem just pick up on it herself by watching while it was done? It's not entirely clear.
For the campfire scene, they could have given us something to do without having an ignorant Clem. Just have Christa say something like "Ok, I'm going to find water, you tend the fire like you did the other times" and play the rest of it exactly the same.
Instead we have Christa saying "you need to learn to do this", like it just occurred to her now, and one of Clem's possible answers is "Omid wanted to teach me...". Omid wanted to, a long time ago. Not Christa.
It looks to me like the authors explicitly wanted to show Christa as overprotective, and only just starting to come around. Which is...understandable, really, she lost her lover and baby, and she just wanted to keep the 9-year-old that remained with her safe.
But I prefer Jane's approach, in that situation at least.
Don't read too much into the campfire thing - Christa did indeed teach clem how to sew up wounds, so clearly she did show a hell of a lot to… more get that far.
Gameplay comes in front of story sometimes, unfortunately, and they needed to give the player something to do in the camp.
