One Thing Amid The Ruins Truly Excelled At....
Was that ending. Man it was intense. One of the best cliffhanger endings I've seen. When the screen goes black and the gunshots start my blood boils up.
Sure, No Going Back took away all of the climax that scene built, but man it was good while it lasted.
What do you guys think?

What do I think? WHAT DO I THINK? I THOUGHT IT EXCELLED AT A LOT OF THINGS (heresy, I know.)
Green you traitor.
I never said that in this post.
But I do think it's bad, but the ending is amazing.
You can't handle the truth.
Says the rhysha shipper.
I didn't think Amid the Ruins was that bad
EDIT: I didn't like the ending because I chose to not steal from Arvo, so I thought that ambush was unwarranted
I am not the biggest fan of Amid the Ruins, but I will admit that it did do some great things. The cliffhanger, as you said, was great (even though I didn't steal from him), but some other things from the episode I also liked was that there was a lot more exploration and you could actually talk to characters, Jane was developed nicely in this episode, and you had the birth of AJ.
Oh boy, Borderlands Shipping Disease has reached TWD section! Everybody, evacuate the children and head towards the exit!
It was great, all S2 episodes had pretty good cliffhangers.
I thought the beginning was great also if you cut off Sarita's arm. I thought I was going to have to runaway from Kenny when he seen what I did.
That cliffhanger was spectacular....ly screwed up in the finale. I was really expecting Clem's group and herself to be shot up, dying or dead. There's so many ways they could've gone with that, but instead we get one dude who doesn't act like he's been shot in the arm at all and the other hobbling around like tiny Tim after playing peakaboo stupidly.
Worst follow up to the best cliffhanger ever
Did you mean. . .
Omid the Ruins
Have Nick and Sarah survive episode 4, and have an additional member of Carver's group also escape with you in episode 3
Bonnie is immediately killed in the gunfight, much like Natasha
Other member from Carver's group is incapacitated in the crossfire, and is left trying to pull themselves behind cover
Buricko is shot, but still able to stand and fight
Mike is shot in the arm as usual, manages to get behind cover, along with Sarah (if alive)
If Nick is alive, he will grab AJ and get him safely behind cover
Nick takes cover behind the wall, across from Luke
If Nick is alive, Clementine will get to choose which side of the wall to go to: with Nick or with Luke (no huge differences, apart from different dialogue from the two)
Buricko moves in, executes the member of Carver's group
Nick takes a potshot at Buricko, managing to strike Buricko
Buricko retaliates, firing a shot at Nick as he falls to the ground
Nick is fatally shot, prompting Luke to try to run over to him, resulting in him getting shot in his leg by Vitali, who's still fighting with Kenny
If Nick was already dead, the opening will be different: after Clementine tries crawling towards AJ, Luke will get out of cover, providing covering fire to Clem, telling her to get behind the wall. He will then grab AJ and try to make a run back behind cover, only to get shot in the leg like he does now
Kenny saves Luke from Buricko by shooting him, like he does now
Nick, if alive, will ultimately bleed out from his wounds next to Clementine and and a devastated Luke
Fight plays out as normal from this point forward, Clem Kenny and Sarah are unharmed
There we go, a much more devastating and death-filled version of the shootout
I thought it exelled at being horrible.
Very true. I felt that the ending was one of the few good parts though.
I thought the ending was great too, but it made no sense in the next episode, the Russians suddenly had different guns, nobody died (in clems group), etc.
No Going Back definitely messed up what could have been something so good .
It's a shame.
It was a suspenseful ending but at first I thought this was gonna be a troll thread saying "One Thing Amid The Ruins Truly Excelled At....-NOTHING"so thanks for not being a troll
I was super excited at the cliffhanger and was disappointed no one died in our group from it.
There I said it.
I was expecting it to say "Being a disappointment".
Yeah I mean the scene wasn't worth the result. How could you go from being so intense to so ridiculous and have them all magically survive
I thought more than the cliffhanger scene, the scene where Rebecca was giving birth was intense as fuck. The ending was still great though, had me scream "wait, what?!" when the episode finished :P
The reaction is jaw dropping. And when you hear Luke say, "No!" and the gunshots erupting always makes you surprised.
Reminds me of Lilly and Carley in the RV in Long Road Ahead. You're just like "What the fuck?!?!?"
My heart was pounding.
At first sight it was crazy intense and I was hyped for the last episode. But when I thought about it, I did not expect much casualty from it. It would not have made sense especially killing Sarah and Nick earlier. I'm actually surprised Mike and Bonnie lived; I totally expected them to die.
