Clem & AJ
So for this thought experiment, we're going to make two main assumptions:
1) Clementine is the main character again.
2) There's another time jump so Clem's in her mid teens and AJ's four or five.
I imagine AJ is going to be bothered as he grows up over the fact that Clem is not biologically related to him (i.e. he can't call her "Mommy") and that he has no family left. This will prompt the players to take action two ways. They can have Clem lie to him and say that she is related to him (perhaps as a big sister or more drastically by lying and saying that she's his mother) or she can tell the truth, but then say that it doesn't matter that they aren't actually related. Clem then has the option to bring up Lee and can pull out his picture (if you haven't thrown it in the fire) to show AJ and explain that while Lee wasn't Clem's real father they became family. And in the same way AJ is now Clem's family too.
Alternatively, if Clem lies and says that AJ is her son and she's part of a larger group they will be rightfully unnerved with the thought she had a baby when she was twelve. So the lie will have two different types of "Blank will remember that" - one that will indicate that AJ had a positive reaction and one to indicate that everyone else had negative reactions. Basically, it will be a choice to make AJ happy but upset others in the group, or to make AJ upset with the truth but have the ability to do damage control afterward.
Anyone else have any ideas of how the relationship between Clemtine and AJ will work out in Season 3, should they return?

I hope Clementine loses A,j. somehow in S3. I just want to be able to focus on Clementine and her survival and development. Having A.j around was really unrealistic in S2 b/c he hardly ever cried, which i find hard to believe given how little food they had for him and the freezing cold temperatures. The fact that he didn't starve or freeze to death is unconvincing. They had us taking care of Clem in S1, I don't want to have to play as Clem raising A.j.
However, since A.j will likely be in for the long haul, I just hope TT uses him more realistically this time around.
Ok, I'll indulge this ideal cause I think it's quite interesting. But first, I'd like to again make my stance known that for all intents and purposes, I'd like for AJ to be rid of in the plot.
If placed in similar circumstances to what you're asking though. I'd be honest with him and say his mother and father died but I'd try to soften that blow by reminding him that they were "good" people (even though I personally didn't care for either of them). Building relationships off of lies is not something I'd want, so even if it hurt him to know he'd never know his parents, at least he KNOWS.
But I digress, the biggest tragedy of season two is that AJ (the biggest focal point of the later half of season two) was completely wasted and that if put in a situation where I could shake his infant body around like I was Bugs Bunny, I would in a heartbeat...
You would end up on Steve Wilcos
Bugs Bunny teaches children great moral values, Steve Wilcos does not.
Besides, I'd rather be on the big time... Jerry Springer is where it's at.
don't make it more sad then it already is. lets just wait and see. I hope season 3 is out sooner then later
I'm hoping for no more time jumps, but that is an interesting concept. I'd tell him the truth, for sure. I remember when Lee firsts meets Vernon, he asks him if Clem was his daughter, there's an option to say yes. As much as I treated her like it, I couldn't lie and say yes.
He was AWESOME, early Steve, he would yell at people, and call them names. Now he is Dr Phil, talking about their nancy feelings. I don't got feelings, MAN DONT HAVE FEELINGS.
wtf is wrong with you
Well AJ isn't a person, he was a plot device. Its like saying you would shake that cartoon salt shaker if you needed some salt.
Jesus Christ, it was a joke. Calm yourself.
Idk about you, but I don't think violently shaking a baby is a good joke. Let alone a joke.
Another human birthed out this child.
It is indeed a human.
It was an analogy
No, it's not. Only when someone is using it in a context comparable of a cartoon, it's not as though I said "I wish I could slaughter AJ like he was apart of the Armenian Genocide" or something like that. I was trying to make a joke, nothing more.
