Here's a "fun" idea for S3.

In the scenario of Clem staying in Wellington, (I have 3 saves. In my main one Clem stays with Kenny & AJ), I like to think she stays there for a few years, learning such vital life skills such as holding her liquor, smoking and how to play poker.
Which brings me to the 2nd point of this post: wouldn't it be pretty neat if Clem witnessed/participated in a game of poker, obliquely referencing TTG's first game?

What does the honourable public think?

I find it adorable the way she's holding the cigarette. Even filling your lungs with harmful chemicals is cute when you're Clementine.

What about the face she makes after it, that's even better.

How is watching an 11 year old girl smoke manage to be both hilarious and adorable at the same time.

(Ignore this, I messed up) Edit; Never mind, the comment system confuses me sometimes...

  • Everything is cute when you're Clem. Hell, I even found it cute when she fires a gun...

  • You forgot to mention oddly disturbing... since if things were normal, that would be considered way out of line But yeah, I agree.

  • It would kinda be a cool Telltale company easter egg if they had clem playing poker

  • Isn't it illegal for minors to play games like poker?

Who cares anymore? She's drank, smoked, got shot and killed walkers. She can play some poker.

  • Well, I do.

  • I dont give a shit if Clem smokes, but i dont want ANYONE drinking alcohol at all

  • Funny, it was the exact opposite for me. I let her drink twice but refused the cigarette.

  • Well, It is if you play poker for MONEY as a minor... Which in the event of the ZA is worthless anyway.

I've enjoyed games of poker since the age of 13, but we'd play using points on a sheet of paper.... Live a little, carpe diem, hora ruit.

    Well, I do.

  • Well, I let her do everything, but was hesitant on the cigarette, but I said to myself, "worse things can kill her quicker.."

Funny, it was the exact opposite for me. I let her drink twice but refused the cigarette.

  • As a kid, I've been taught not to gamble, or partake in any activity that involves betting money.
Even if it's just by points on a sheet of paper, or those chips in casinos, I'd rather spend time with my family.

Which in the event of the ZA is worthless anyway.

Just because the world is now mostly inhabited by the undead, doesn't mean that I would detach myself from laws that I grew to abide. In this situation, I play as Clementine, so I have the right to choose what she does.

I was referring to money, not laws. I agree that some, at least morally, should be applied to the ZA.. I'm not denying your right to play Clem as you want. I was only picking up on the fact that you said gambling for minors is illegal (and rightly so), when I had said that money is now worthless.

Btw, (no hate my friend) are you Mormon? I have a few Mormon friends who're like that.

Its all about being a Thug. She gotta learn to be thug queen of this series.

  • I dont give a sht if people smoke because it doesnt change who people are personality wise, alcohol still scares me in real life, i refuse to even walk down the wine/beer isles at my local HEB because of how much it freaks me out.

Funny, it was the exact opposite for me. I let her drink twice but refused the cigarette.

  • To be honest, I couldn't let her do anything. Drinking or smoking.

  • I would be cool in the jane ending, that they find a pair of throwing knifes and Jane teaches Clem to throw them.

  • That sounds cool. I would like if we can choose for Clem to play poker. And also have options to cheat and get caught.

  • C'mon, Telltale. Where's Poker Night 3?

Wouldn't mind seeing Sam and Max playing alongside Gren or Woodsman from TWAU.

    Sorry for the late reply:

Agnostic: (noun) a person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable, or that human knowledge is limited to experience.

Atheist: (noun) a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings.(God)

So you're either one or another, you can't be both. You either believe that the existance of a Supreme Being is possible (agnostic), or not (atheist).

    How?

  • Agnostic - a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God or of anything beyond material phenomena; a person who claims neither faith nor disbelief in God.

Right, exactly, you're just rephrasing what I said. So you can't be an agnostic atheist. You're either an Atheist OR an Agnostic. You can't be both at the same time.

An atheist doesn't believe in God/ a Supreme Being, and doesn't even believe in the possibility of the existence of such a being, whereas an agnostic does.

    You can be both.

  • I'm unsure whether there is a God, but I'm leaning towards a no.

I know forum users who classify themselves as one.

  • My point exactly. Who cares that an underage individual is gambling/smoking/drinking now that the undead are roaming the land? (Some people might care, but they'd have no authority whatsoever to make that person stop.)

Pretty funny we ended up straying so far from the original subject matter.

  • But would people allow a minor to gamble though?

people make bets all time. You've never made a bet with your friends or family about something....anything? well, technically that's gambling

so I would say yes to your question. minors could gamble....:but many factors would come into play as well. it would depend on the group's ethics and what the bet and stakes are...and the mental capacity of the minor in question

But would people allow a minor to gamble though?

  • Honestly, if I saw that that minor can handle with ease a gun, hammer, axe, I'd leave him/her to it. He/she must have seen/done worse things in life than gamble to be so proficient with weapons...

But would people allow a minor to gamble though?

  • Up to a point, but it'll more depend on the charisma of the group leader. If he says anything goes, then anything goes.
