Reggie: One of the worst characters in anything
I might be late but I gotta say Reggie is one of the worst characters in the video game series. He's an annoying coward I wanted to punch in the face and is the kool aid drinker. I kinda laughed when Carver pushed his dumb ass off a cliff. Another Season 2 plot device that failed greatly

I always laugh when Carver comes in and looks at the plants and is like: "Reggie."
Reggie was a very bleh character. I didn't really care for him. But when he tried to pat Clementine on the head, I knew he done fucked up.
He made me laugh due to his awkwardness
He was a poorly handled plot device, to be sure, but he's not a coward.
He's a guy who had to reevaluate his own life after his accident and loss of his own arm and was subsequently bullied into submission by a psychopath. Don't forget he was a part of the escape attempt to begin with. But going through something as traumatic as losing a limb can force someone to rethink their priorities, which he himself flat out said. And before anyone brings Lee up, the only reason it didn't hinder Lee at all was because Telltale is choosy when it comes to how physical and mental disabilities affect characters. Nick, Sarah, and Reggie? Realistic cases and side characters, and are thus either hopeless or killed for plot purposes. Usually both. Kenny, Lee, and Clementine (going with the idea that Clem suffered from depression and PTSD)? Unrealistic cases and main characters who are barely hindered at all in their abilities to fight by otherwise traumatic and sometimes life-threatening injuries and disabilities.
On a side note regarding Reggie standing up to Carver, people often talk up standing up to your bullies because "that makes them stop", but for some reason forget the fact that a bullied person can still get the shit kicked out of them by their bully. It's like people think bullies will immediately go "okay, okay, I give up!" if you show the slightest amount of strength. Reality's not that kind.
Decent write but I think you're thinking too deep into it. He existed for one purpose like Mark but much worse
I don't think so because like I said, he flat out says it. "After my arm... it's just that much more important", or something to that effect. Again, the fact that he was totally on board with escaping, but is then trying to convince the others to stay only after he's lost his arm goes to show that it's a pretty fundamental part of his character, same with Carver ultimately disposing of him.
Just because season 2 tended to sacrifice anything potentially interesting doesn't mean there aren't some things of interest we can read into.
There's always Kenny to claim that title.
At that scene is one of the few times that i wished for another dialogue option.
Something along the lines of, " if you ever touch me again, I'll cut your other fucking arm off! "
His character was supposed to be annoying, cowardly and shaky, like when everyone hates Joffrey in GoT and it makes you know that the actor did a good job. Same with Reggie.
Honestly, I felt sorry for Reggie.
He aids the group to escape the first time and he loses an arm for it, and it's ambiguous whether a walker was responsible or Carver was the one to do the deed. Because he was unable to escape the first time he find himself on Carver's shit list and ends up suffering from Stockholm Syndrome ever since, being indoctrinated into abiding by Carver and support his claims in spite of being his hostage.
And then he's murdered by him in spite of being loyal all because of berries of all things, though its really just a weak opportunity for Carver to kill Reggie.
The voice acting wasnt very good for him it just sounded to comical.
I just had the best laugh of my life bless you
My internet crapped out or something and made me post the same thing a bunch of times
A lot of times
Oh god why
Thank you very much. I aim to please.
Still a better character than femnazi bonnie
IMO Reggie should of never existed , and Walter should of taken his place, that is how i would of wrote it.
Reggie lives through your computer CONFIRMED!
Yeah, what was the point of having him in the game? He is one of the most useless characters.
How is Kenny one of the worst characters in video games? He's one of the most complex characters I've ever seen, and I've played a lot of video games.
lmao
I don't see him to be "complex" at all. To be honest, he's really not. He's a family man, doesn't like giving up hope, lost some emotion while having a 2 year grieving process, usually finds things to fight for, likes wanting to kill teenaged boys. Not really complex.
Tied
That's really not an absolute fact. It's up to interpretation. Lots of people think he was very poorly written, myself included.
He existed solely to make Carver seem evil.
Because torturing a man in front of his vulnerable daughter and murdering one of the kindest men in the series in Episode 2 wasn't enough.
This.
But he dies in the same episode where he kills Reggie.
