Did you know...?

Out of all 97 characters that we have seen in The Walking Dead excluding characters we only see as walkers, or animals. There are only 3 confirmed characters that are alive, no matter what. All the rest are dead, alive under certain circumstances or are unknown. The characters that are alive are:

  • Clementine
  • Alvin Jr.
  • Edith from Wellington

That's it. It's shocking to know how many characters we have known, that have died, we separated from or are alive and with us in certain cases.

Comments

  • Yeah. It's like every character besides those 3 are doomed.

This outlines one of the problems with the game in that they take the "no one is safe" concept way too seriously

Not even the source material itself has reached this high of a dead:alive ratio

  • It does seem more realism that Clem does see Christa, Molly, Etc again. I the 18 century and without cellphone, facebook, and the world fill with deadly diseases, if you lived in the rural areas or even the cities at those times, a sudden shift in schedule or relocation could mean that seeiong that person in one day you most likely to see her again. So, it would mean sense that you don't see Clem and Christa monuments in the future.

  • I don't think Molly will come back because she is a one-time character.

  • I still don't remember where this was confirmed

    I'm a gamer it's kinda my thing

    Yup.

Eventually, tension dissipates when we're conscious that every character that makes an appearance is going to die, not because of a situation they're trapped in that is inescapable or because of a naturally occurring circumstance, but because of some stupid slasher flick logic that sees the characters as little more than a reason to have a "mature" rated game.

[Doug Moral] "How can Carver die an impactful and particularly grotesque death?"

[Adam Dickenballs] "I know! Have him standing in a large dimly lit room by himself with one fully automatic weapon standing only three feet away from a group of people who hate him not bound or locked up and have him screaming like a dumbass while the same group of people are obviously looking directly above him extremely suspiciously to a girl who'll get the drop on him like she's fucking Arnold Schwarzenegger from Commando."

[Doug Moral] "Ok... that is extremely dumb..."

[Adam Dickenballs] "Wait! There's more! Have Carver stumble around and then get shot twice by Kenny and have a particularly cool shot of him coldly holding his gun like he's Charles Bronson in Death Wish cause we need to push our line of Kenny action figures th..."

    [Doug Moral] "What?"

[Adam Dickenballs] "...And then, have a choice that doesn't mean shit and is only there to act as a partition to all the weak stomachs out there, basically being a 'Do you want to include the No Russian mission' option at the beginning of Modern Warfare 2. Cause yeah, that's what a choice is... black or white."

    [Doug Moral] "..."

Adam Dickenballs later went on to head The Walking Dead development team for No Going Back while poor Doug Moral got fired for his continual insolence.

    Character: [breathes]

    Telltale: [swings sign]

    Character: Alt text

And darn right. It's gotten so ridiculous you'd think we were playing Battle Royale, not The Walking Dead!

  • Why does Edith count as always alive and not the family from Jane's ending?

They can be turned away from Howes, which would leave them unknown, all the endings end at exactly the same time, so Edith is always inside Wellington.

  • Edith is in a relatively safe (albeit overcrowded) camp and the family seemed to be doing pretty bad. If you didn't let them in or didn't get the ending at all, it makes more sense to list them as Unknown.

  • It's still hardly an absolute ranking, as this thread implies.

Edith is always inside Wellington in the Kenny ending, yeah.

Family is always alive either inside or outside Howe's in the Jane ending, in plain sight.

If its based on when the episode ends, then the family in Jane's ending are also not dead, determinant, or unknown.

  • While 3 are alive:

    41 are dead.

21 are determinant (but most of these are dead as well).

    27 are unknown.

    Andd, 5 are undead.

Well... a lot of people died or got lost. Didn't they?

  • I think they confirmed that we wouldn't at least see Christa this season and may have made a passing comment about Molly somewhere, but I can't remember. I KNOW it was a video interview or something, that's for sure.

  • I giggled at Edith from Wellington.
It's so random that she is a confirmed character XD

  • not even just the 18th cent...but even in biblical or B.C.E era people were kept in touch with others over vast distances

  • but in these conditions that the world is in the walking dead universe, finding someone is going to be a challenge seeing that
    1. the world is about 70% dead, or if you want to used experimental statistics, 2/91 characters are confirmed alive.
    2. there isn't a established mailing system in this world, nor do we known( as far as clem knows) any other communities out there, meaning she can't just randomly go out searching every house, barn, field, and shed looking for her, or just go out asking people out on the road, that would be deadly.
    3. Clem (three,two,one) state(s) over North Carolina.

  • we'll....yeah. her condition will not change whether or not you go to wellington. She still will be safe in her 2 story fortress. ensuring her safety. As for Randy, his faith can be changed.

  • I know but it's just so random that out of all these major characters that we love or hate for the sole reason that they made a prolonged impact on the story and the confirmed alive characters is just...
    Clem
    AJ
Oh yeah... and Edith from Wellington.

    YAY.

    XD
