More than one main character? [POLL]
TT's most recent series, GOT and TFTB, both allow the player to take control of multiple characters. Now, obviously I'm all for keeping Clemmy as the main character, but the use of more than one character in GOT and TFTB has been so successfully done that I'd be interested to see how it would work, and how many people would be interested to see something like that. I'm not automatically saying that an existing character like Kenny/Jane should become playable, but I was thinking that, because a lot of people have been talking about AJ becoming playable, would playing as both AJ and Clem work? It would pretty much be like the Lee-Clem relationship from S1, except you got to play with the younger character. Or does the idea of having two child characters not appeal to you? What do you people think?

I not want it...
Only Lee and Clementine - main characters
Yes, I agree wholeheartedly. Maybe not Kenny or Jane but other people. Imagine the mind fuck you could do where in one scene you're being nice to someone, then you play as that someone and are an ass to Clem. Clem's dialogue options when we next play her will be more hostile toward that character. It would also make the ending of who sides with who in some conflict or whatever more unpredictable.
Talking to some character as Clem, and then talking to Clem as that same character...sounds like you'd just be talking to yourself essentially lol and that sounds a little boring honestly. Or do you mean something else?
Pretty much this. I don't want to play more than one character in TWDG. Unless I could play as Lee again, that would be an exception (but obviously it can't happen nor would I want it to).
No thanks. It would take too much focus away from Clem. Who is all I need for S3.
"Kenny, I need you to save my son! He's going to die! Please!"
Option 1: "Let him fend for himself. I already got AJ as a self-serving replacement, I don't need two!"
Option 2: "Nah, I hope you don't hold this against me later though... we cool?"
Option 3: "But I'm too busy being horrible."
Option 4: [Sniff your farts and run away like a true coward]
God, I could only imagine how displeasurable it'd be to play as him.
I would prefer to play as just 1 main character, even more so as Clementine. Keep the story as simple and tamed as a ZA story can get I guess.
I'd rather not have multiple playable characters because I just play them as if I were there. So for me they're just the same character with a different look.
So no thanks.
I mean that if we had more than one main character our interactions with those characters would matter more because one character will remember how you acted toward her and can influence other characters behaviours too.
No I dont think multiple protagonists work here, the apocalypse is going to be the same everywhere though playing as a child is not very entertaining to me
Apparently the zombpocalypse is different enough in LA than it is in the rural South for it to warrant a spin-off TV show...
I wouldnt mind multiple protagonists. It would satiate people who cant seem to live without Clementine, and people like me.... who cant stand her anymore.
Pretty much. I kind of like how the zombies will look more human because there hasn't been enough time for their flesh to rot. But after I read that, I kind of wondered how they're going to pull that off. Is only the pilot episode like that? Because it wouldn't make any sense that some zombies' flesh rot after a day or two whereas in LA... they don't? I should probably look it up again, I'm probably wrong.
Sure I think it would be cool.
I hate multiple POV's, okay maybe that's an exaggeration but still. I love being honed in to just one character and seeing the world through there eyes. It works for GOT because they all have unique story lines but could you imagine switching off in the walking dead? I couldn't.
I'd be cool, imagine playing as people who you know are bandits and then they end up raiding the other characters camp, and you get to watch the bandit guys kill everybody
I think it could work lol. Telltale have done a magnificent job managing the length of the episode while developing character for the 5 main characters however I've noticed some complaining about Asher not getting enough screen time. I can agree somewhat which is why I would suggest that the episode needs to be longer than a Season 2 or even Game of Thrones episode to work.
I'm going into the spin off with an open mind, For people who dont like the genre like any zombie movie just dont bother, going into it with a negative outlook means likelihood of enjoyment is low, I admit the walking dead is up and down in its quality and I prefer other shows but still, the spin off has potential to be good. Honestly the reason I think the game wouldn't work with multiple playables is that they would have to have a larger cast of characters and relationships involves with them. 400 days was a brief test but even small groups quickly had to sideline the majority of characters and the time we get with each one is limited.
You contradicted yourself. OF COURSE a story set in an uber-glamorous city will be different from one set in the more pastoral South. Doesn't change the fact that it's a blatant cash-grab, but then again I don't care much for any non-game aspects of this franchise.
Your argument about 'more variables' doesn't work now - Telltale's grown as a company, and this year alone they've introduced two new games which deal with multiple protagonists. They're perfectly capable of handling multiple perspectives in The Walking Dead - it's only a matter of effort. They need to step it up.
Yes that would be good, but TBH i want Kenny/Jane to just go away and never ever come back.
Maybe it could work but I want TWDG to have only one main protagonist.
