Might I ask why Everyone is So against...

  • Well, I can't look into their heads, but I guess it's because they're annoyed and don't understand why some people are fixated on the love life of an 11-year old when she's not even had the possibilty to form something like a longer lasting friendship..

because it's a shitstorm waiting to happen.

  • I find the idea of Clementine being romantically with someone laughable. I think this in real life too about young couples. Because when I remember my middle school dating stories, they're awkward af. I cringe just thinking about them. That said I'm not one of those people who are like, "Clementine can start dating when she 50! Dur-dee-dur." I think 16 is a good age for books, media and videogames to start romantic relationships.

  • Or girlfriend.

Im not against it. If Clem wants a boyfriend, go for it

  • Yeah I meant, the WD games, not games in general lol.

After season 2 ,I can't see Clementine being romantically intrested in someone.

I keep laughing when I compare Clem from EP4 how she discribes that observation deck in full detail and that "Cool hat" kid from Jane ending.

    But... hey you never know...

  • I wish there was a choice to somehow "discard" of AJ. I don't mean kill or abandon...just discard.

And this, right here is why i absolutely hate the very fucking idea of A.J.

  • Yes, i agree. I would Have loved an option to leave the kid at Wellington, and continue on by myself.

Or just leave it with Kenny. I would have considered letting him live if it was a possibility to leave AJ with him.

But no, now we get to start off with a baby - and he'll probably get killed and it will be all Clem's fault. And she'll have worse PTSD than before and never be able to look at another pregnant woman again without breaking down. Uuugh.

I wish there was a choice to somehow "discard" of AJ. I don't mean kill or abandon...just discard.

    1. She's only 11
    2. We don't really need one.
  • I personally think it's fine if she just has a crush but a boyfriend...No. Kids just aren't mature enough to actually have a serious relationship so it seems kinda off place at least IMO.

  • After season 2 ,I can't see Clementine being romantically interested in someone.

Now, while I've said that I'm not opposed to Clem having a crush or some kind of romance arch, I do agree with this statement as well

It's in the middle of a zombie apocalypse she needs to survive, not have a "disney true love" moment.

  • edited June 2015

What has child porn to do with it? Why take it there? There is nothing wrong or unusual with Clem liking someone and wanting to connect with them, especially during an apocalypse where its so frightening and probably lonely. It doesnt have to be ugly unless people make it that way.

It's in the middle of a zombie apocalypse she needs to survive, not have a "disney true love" moment.

  • WHOA! No one else in this thread took it that far except for You buster!

    1. She might Not be 11 in Season 3, as This is a season 3 thread.
    2. Some people want to see Clem having a little crush.

  • Rather not. I think she can love and much more deserved to be loved after all that ****, she went through. However...

I can't imagine a working love story for this style of game. The reason it is so immersive, is because it gives us the feeling of control... it is our decision who Clem (or Lee) became friends with. Respectively the friend of Clem/Lee became my friend. For that matter the person Clem would (or should) fall in love should fit my personal view... and with that every other players view... and each of them probably with a very different opinion on what the perfect partner is.

In short: Making a love story is a guarantee for disaster. It will make 99.9% of the people unhappy about Telltales choice of "boy/girlfriend" unless you have the choice not to fall in love.

  • Rule 1 on the internet, DO NOT / NEVER FEED THE TROLL, HE CAN PUT CHILD PORN, NECROPHILA, WHATEVER IN A BLENDER AND MENTION IT AND YOU GOTTA IGNORE THE TROLL.

  • I don't care if she has a love interest, i have no interest in playing kissy with anyone. What kind of a love story could a child have anyways, dumb.

  • Finally someone that understands me ...

  • What if AJ dies, and it is her fault, her being CLementine. To let a child take care another child is irresponsible and wreckless. Just my opinion.

You and 100% left AJ behind.

  • I'm quite aware of that. and Is your Caps Lock button okay? I'd take it to the hospital to make sure.

  • theres nothing wrong with it,but i hate how modern media tries to make everything have an angle, shes just an innocent little girl lost in the Z.A. ,she had a girlish crush on Luke which i enjoyed her being all sheepish and embarassed.

Well what's wrong with being LGBT? I mean, yeah, It makes no sense for Her to have those feelings AND have a Love interest, But nothings wrong with it.

  • Mainly because to us straight people, we are sick and tired of the "media" pandering to Minorities, and then dismissing OTHER minorities, such as Angry PTSD VETS.

Where a US Vet kills himself i think it is one every 48 minutes.

  • A child can't really understand the concept of what love really is. Love is sacrifice, Love is pain.

Watching someone wither away in a hospital bed dying from cancer, that is love, being with them when they are crass, is a understatement, is love.

Wait..... Of course she can't know what love is. We are talking about a crush. when u think someone is cute and u like to hang with them. When children say : hey i like u. that's what i'm talking about. Not that Clem is going to have a boyfriend and like make sacrifices for him, or kiss and stuff. Just minor things.

That shouldn't even be her problem, I don't want to take care of a stupid child of two people I didn't like as human beings. She'd be better off without him

So, uhm, you do realize i was joking right. I only like women, i know that is a stretch in today's world but i grew up in the 80s, when it was acceptable to beat your kids.

  • I think her having a crush would be natural enough though to be honest season 2 was too much danger to think about things like that properly.

  • It would be great if TTG would give the player a choice. And if their would be a choice and I would like the other character - yeah Clem would have a crush on him/she for sure.
But I don't want it to be forced. This is a TTG Game: you can choose your personality, you can choose to like a Person or not and how you interact with them... So you should have the choice if you have a crush or a relationship - and how far it should go - or friendship or nothing at all. But their should be a jump forward from how you ended season 2.

I wouldn't find it strange if they would give us a hidden choice - through interaction and talking - to choose the sexual orientation. I know people don't choose who they love, but we all choose if we have a relationship with someone. Why don't give us a girl or a boy who we can flirt with and you can choose if you flirt, friendly or harsh. To say it completely: she will be 13/14. she is in the age where puberty hits hard - why don't give the player the chance to be her "mind" - and to "Control" her realisation.

  • Me too Clemenem! Obviously :)

I was so mad at how the relationship with Clem and Rebecca developed, really really frustrated. I feel like Clem would have done just about anything to avoid being anywhere near a pregnant woman or a baby, after what happened with Christa and her child. And then, she winds up here, alone, with a 2 week old baby. It just doesn't make sense to me.
