Ways Season 2 could've been better.
These are suggestions on little details that could've made season 2 better in my opinion.
ALL THAT REMAINS.
At Gills Truck stop, depending on your 400 days choices, you discover Becca's guitar instead of tin can.
The group who confront Clem and Christa ask if this is Shell or Becca as well as asking where is the rest of your group. Also in the scene immediately after Omid's death, add dialogue about not trusting strangers after last time, and explain that the last group they met weren't too friendly. (this hints as to what happened to the baby) Also, when Christa mentions Wellington, Clem can point out that the people who told them might be lying on the count that Christa just said we can't trust anybody no more.
When waking up on the bank after falling in the river we have the choice of going looking in the woods or searching for wood. If we choose make a fire then Clem gets her arm injury from collecting firewood, and Sam the Dog finds us instead, but instead of biting Clem, dies in its sleep.
When locked up by the cabin group we have the choice of breaking out or waiting. If we wait then Sarah will come and find us and try and be our friend. No matter how you injured your arm she'll mention her father was a hospital porter and her mother was the actual doctor.
Add a bonding scene between Alvin, Pete, and Clem where they go fishing and Alvin tries to make you be a less mean toward Rebecca.
In the climax make Pete a determinate character. If you go with Nick he dies. If you go with Pete it turns out he wasn't lying and he did just slip on a rock.
A HOUSE DIVIDED.
When Carver comes to the house allow Clem to have the choice of Becca and Shell from 400 days as names. If you choose Becca or Shell then when he discovers the photo of Sarah and you choose the dialogue of its my sister, he'll say, choice dependant, was her name Becca/Shell by chance?
Make the choice of teaching more important. If you choose to teach Sarah how to use a gun then several opportunities will arise during the episode to teach her. If you refuse then during the episode you get a scene where Carlos catches her with the gun and tells her off.
When fleeing the cabin and Rebecca is taking to you, add a choice to listen to her or ignore her and go talk to the others in the group.
Give Kenny an explanation for surviving. "I fell down a manhole cover." OR "I ran blindly through the building praying to God I'd get out. When I did I tried to catch up to you at the Marsh House but there were too many Walkers."
At dinner Kenny will decide you will stay with him regardless of choice and he'll try and emotionally blackmail you by saying it was what Lee would've wanted. He'll say Lee would want you with someone he knew rather than people who could be anyone. Conversely, if you sit with Luke he'll say that although you may want to stay with Kenny you don't actually know him well and a lot of time passed between when you last saw him and now. Still ends up in an argument between the two.
When Carver attacks the camp, Nick goes with Kenny and Luke to the generator.
Instead of breaking the fingers of a man who needs his fingers as a doctor, Carver attacks Pete if he's still alive.
IN HARMS WAY.
When you're in Carver's camp and after you've met Reggie, Troy and a group of people will enter the holding cell and attack Alvin. We learn that George was Troy's brother. Carver comes in and stops the attack, apologises to Rebecca and Alvin, then sends Alvin to see Carlos to get seen to.
When being put to work we first work with Bonnie and then with Shell and Becca taking stock of food supples. Again this would be choice dependant on 400 days. We learn more about the camp through these two and about their reluctance to leave.
From here to the Greenhouse. When given the choice of helping Sarah or doing our own work, change the outcome. If we help Sarah then after Reggie is killed, Carver will take Clem aside rather than Sarah and discuss the risk of helping someone at our own expense. If we don't help Sarah the scene is normal.
After telling Bonnie about Reggie, it's Russell (choice dependant) who opens the door for you.
It's Luke and Nick who pull you into the comic book store and tell you their plan.
In the scene in Carver's office, he'll explain why he saved Alvin's life and say that it should be a leader who brings justice on those who deserve it and not his minions. He'll show you Alvin lying in the chair, bloody and bruised. Wyatt from 400 days escorts you back to your group.
Clementine expresses more dissatisfaction with being expected to do things for the group and still treated like a child. Make it more of a plot point than a throwaway line.
Have Nick be the one who was caught stealing food to play into him feeling like a fuck up and his depression.
When escaping have things start to go to hell when Sarah panics and shoots her gun. If you didn't help her than things carry on as they would have done. Carlos will be surprised by the gunshot behind him and because of this will end up bitten, prompting Sarah to shoot wildly at the walkers. Things fall to hell.
AMIDST THE RUINS
Nick, who is desperate to prove he isn't a fuck up, runs after Sarah, which prompts Luke and Pete to run after him.
Add a scene where Clem, Jane, and Rebecca wash the blood off their faces. When finding Bonnie and Mike at the monument, have Clem express more displeasure at being expected to do everything for the group when they ask her to speak to Kenny. When Jane and Clem go looking for the others they come across Wyatt's car choice dependant.
When we find the trailer park where Sarah is hiding we see that Pete has been bitten and is dead.
When given the choice to leave or take Sarah. If we choose to take Sarah with us, Nick will be the last one out and be bitten on the leg and dragged down and killed. If we leave Sarah no one else dies.
Make the decision to rob Arvo clearer and have more effect on the finale.
Add more fuel to the Kenny vs Luke fire by having Luke concerned at Kenny's attachment to the baby.
If you choose to wait until morning to leave then there should be little snow on the ground. If you wait a few days then there should be a lot more snow on the ground.
Instead of Arvo's group we're confronted by the remnants of Carver's group, including Vince, and Wyatt, and Russell, which prompts Arvo's group to either help us, if we didn't rob him, or try and rob all of us.
NO TURNING BACK
In the resultant shootout, Nick/Sarah, Mike and Bonnie, are killed, as well as most of Arvo's group and Carver's group. Only Wyatt and Vince remain alive from Carver's group. The last shooter is killed by a returning Jane who has not returned alone. With her is Christa. Christa has been following Clem since they got separated and it was only by meeting Jane that she found out where she was. Jane expresses that the only reason she came back was for Clem. Kenny and Luke argue about the baby prompting Christa to take the baby.
Arvo says there is a house where there is food. Kenny is mad and blames the Russians for the shootout despite it not being them who started it.
As well as the scene with Kenny when you patch his eye up, there is a scene with Christa where she mentions that he looks just like Omid Jr.
Throughout the Episode and up to the powerstation the episode will continue as normal, but with extra scenes where Clem expresses that she's sick of being expected to do things for everyone and Jane tries to convince her to leave. Everyone shares a happy moment around the fire but it becomes clear that Christa is becoming overly attached to Alvin Jr. Only Clem notices this as she's the only one who knows Christa. Kenny and Luke still argue over the baby though and where best to take him. Luke annoys Kenny by saying the baby isn't Duck, prompting an angry outburst.
When they reach the lake covered in ice, Arvo runs when he sees walkers which prompts Kenny to run after him. The ice cracks and Jane falls in the lake instead of Luke. Jane drowns. At the cabin when Clem is recovering from falling in the lake, she hears Christa having two conversations with Luke and Kenny-each conversation suggesting something about the other.
Once Kenny gets the truck going, Wyatt, Arvo, and Vince try to steal the truck. Clem is still shot.
Clem wakes up to Luke and Kenny arguing over what to do about the baby. Eventually it ends up in a fight between them and Clem has a choice to kill Kenny or let Kenny kill Luke.
If she kills Kenny, then Luke and Christa will go back to Howes. If Kenny kills Luke then they go to Wellington. If Clem does nothing then Christa shoots Kenny after he kills Luke. Clem discovers that Christa inadvertently led to their deaths because she wanted the baby to make up for the one she lost. Clem can either forgive Christa, or choose her own path and take the baby from a devastated Christa and cut all ties to the characters from season 2 and 1, becoming a new Clem for season 3.

Telltale Games
If only we have a time machine. You just made Season 2 a lot better. And gave the 400 days characters an actual role. Poor Luke though.
The 2 gentleman Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin, the brains behind the story of The Walking Dead Season 1, I wish they still worked at Telltale. Season 2 would have probably been much better.
UMMM..........
Reading all that, ain't nobody got time for that (at least me, that's A LOT OF WORDS)
I only read episode 4 (because I hate that episode and want to read any imrpovment :P) and I strongly agree with all what you said ALL... PROPS TO YOU
I liked the idea of finding out that Carlos was really a hospital porter and his late wife was the actual doctor
I wish they had kept the fishing idea
I liked the idea about teaching Sarah how to use the gun or not use the gun having more of an effect
The idea of keeping Nick alive and becoming determinant when it comes time to save Sarah from the trailer...and then later on having either of them die in the shoot out.
I enjoyed Christa return...and the twist; edit: I like that you only find out that Christa was behind everything if you choose not to intervene
You do know they helped create the story of Season 2 before they left right? They also oversaw the development of the first episode before they officially left Telltale, Vanaman had an additional writing credit and Rodkin had an additional design credit on All That Remains.
Thank you. It is my dream to write for Telltale some day, and for the Walking Dead. I wouldn't even mind writing 5 different Episode ones just to keep our choices going from season 2. Hire me, please Telltale. I'll work from home if It helps
well, that explains why All that Remains is probably my fav episode of S2
An additional writing credit is not really a huge contribution, it's probably only adding or fixing a few lines of dialogue or small parts of the story.
They should hire you for season 3 (-:
I feel your pain... I feel your pain
Well...it seems reading that was worth it
sometimes those little things can mean a lot... those little thing are often what affect the heart and soul of the story
The thing about Kenny vs Luke again... Nobody would save that Kenny. Kenny seems more horrible in this suggestion. Worse than he is originally. everyone loves luke and luke hasn't done anything wrong. So that wouldnt really be an ending... Why would Kenny randomly try and kill luke for a baby? Kenny goes off on Jane because it seems like she killed it, kenny is fine with Clem taking care of it. So I dont get that. And That shouldn't be a reason to fight so bad that kenny is about to kill Luke, and if the answer is becuase hes crazy! then that makes every person think "Wow kenny is insane... I cant let him kill an innocent character like that" To me it just doesn't work. Other than that great story
As much as I like Season Two, this would've made it ten times better.
I liked most of your ideas till EP5
