Rhys raised an indignant eyebrow, setting the remote down, before turning to face her -- eyes staring straight ahead of her and ignoring him completely -- with a scowl.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Are you deaf?" She snorted and it was as irritating as it was endearing. "It means that you need to shave. Get rid of the scruff. You look homeless."
Rude, but straight to the point; he knew how to appreciate that.
"Wow, aren't you a sweetheart?" He scratched at his unkept chin. "Just what a man wants to hear."
"Hey," she shrugged, unaffected by his subtle complaints, and picked the remote back up, "you reap what you sow."
"Great," he rolled his eyes, "I'll remember that."
When she didn't reply and continued, instead, surfing lazily through the channels he eyed her carefully. Fiona never really continued a conversation when she had nothing to contribute to it, he knew, but he wasn't good at coming up with topics either -- and being ignored was starting to get on his nerves -- and he was dying of boredom.
Maybe he could make her take her words back.
He scooted over slightly, earning a side glance from her part -- but no words -- that made him grin. He knew she could see it and when she averted her eyes away from his frame, feigning ignorance, he could tell she was curious.
Without warning, he pounced on her, caging her in his arms and forcefully brought her cheek to connect with his. She didn't squirm and he was a bit disappointed but he should've known better; she already knew him well enough to figure out when he was up to something.
"If I get a rash," she grumbled as he pressed his cheek closer, "you won't live to see daylight."
"I think I will." He loosened his grip and she relaxed a bit more. "But what do you think now?"
"I don't take it back," she started and he pouted, but pressed a kiss against her hair nonetheless, "you do need to shave."
"What's so bad about it?"
It was silly and he wasn't really offended but he still liked to think he looked better than a hobo and she wasn't helping his case.
"It's not, I like it."
He pushed her away slightly in confusion but she held him in place, grabbing his sleeve.
"Really." She reassured him when he didn't offer a response.
"Wha-? But then why...?"
"Why do you need to shave?" He nodded. "Because you have work tomorrow, Hyperion."
"You need to shave."
