Whatever happens the Forresters went through enough suffering that even a "happy ending" won't be happy anyway, even a best case ending with victory and a wedding will be bittersweet considering all the deaths of loved ones we experienced.

Gared might die since he is deserter, and I don't have high hopes for Rodrik/Asher, sentinel and Ryon.
