Most In-Character Ending for Clem (Morals or Friendship)

  • Depends on the Clem. My Clem was heading in the loner direction for a long time, so it made sense to ditch Jane and Kenny.

  • The person playing the game has their own reasons why they choose what they choose. Nothing uncharacteristic about any ending. We are Clem, we choose what's best for her.

  • Exactly. It depends on our character and choices.

  • Personal perspective, ect.

  • Quickest fix would just be to bring back Sean Vanaman to write the episodes and Gary Whitta to do his supervisory thing.

Just hope that telltale can step up from Season 2 which was incredible IMO, but there was still room for improvement.

  • People will be talking about Lee forever. This game changed everything. It was the first game to really breach the wall between games and narrative in an utterly convincing way.

I picked Kenny for the LOLS, as long as he doesn't cry , I'm tired of hearing about character's problems. Clementine doesn't complain about her problems, why does everyone complain to Clementine? People are just so willy nilly to talk about their feelings with RL strangers. Maybe it's just me, but i been the exact opposite my entire life. Its just weird that people get all emotional with someone they just met.

    Maybe its me.

  • Be indulgent - the people had to survive without facebook, whatsapp, they couldn´t even call someone of the spiritual welfare - so they talk to strangers, face to face^^
I personally just played the both ends with Kenny yet, but planned a ice-cold run, ending with jane -or better: alone.
At the first time i guess i reacted mostly spontaneous, and fixed "mistakes" in the second run, but I´m afraid to become a I-have-to-act-like-this-for-get-the-right-dialougeoption one.
But it is hard to decide wich end fits best with my personal opinion of clem - and after reading this thread, i aren´t alone ;)

And on my mind it is amazing, that, like TheRealBiz said, players talk about their decisions still this time after the first and the second season - i´m very glad :)

The best ending in my opinion, is the 'Alone' ending. Just the brutality and imagery that it shares with the ending for Season One is beautiful.

In Season One, the story ends with Clementine sitting alone abandoned at a field, after crying. She's scared and doesn't know what to do, until she spots two silhouettes in the background; a sign of hope.

In Season Two, the 'Alone' ending shows the story ends with Clementine walking instead of sitting down, showing she's taking an active role in her survival and she isn't so emotional as she isn't crying, she has gotten used to what has happened. She doesn't even appeared scared, and as she looks around the field, there are no silhouettes. No sign of hope. Just her, a baby and a horde of walkers. Clementine covers herself in walker blood, alongside the baby and moves through the horde. Uncaring and devoted only for the safety of herself and the baby.

The prescence of walkers contrasts with Season One to show the danger of the world. The movement of Clementine, her caring role for the child and use of walker blood signifies her now more active role in her survival which contrasts with the Season One ending where she is sitting down and only moved when she saw a sign of hope (the silhouettes). Even the lack of silhouettes signify a lack of hope. It really encompasses the brutality of both Clementine and the world around her, making it a really magnificent and fitting ending for Season Two.

My first ending I went with AJ into Wellington, but I felt it was wrong and copied the save file, this time going with Kenny. That was months ago and still I don't know what the right option is, but I have two save files there and I'll see what happens. I'm leaning towards sticking with Kenny though...Kenny is like a father to Clem (in how I played). I have feeling he wouldn't last without Clem either, he's lost too much already he may just give up, we both need each other. Killing Kenny was never an option for me, and sticking with someone as cold-hearted as Jane wasn't an option either. I completely understand the people who would go alone, but I just can't kill Kenny...no way.
Remember this is just my opinion and how my play through worked out so i don't want any immature replies on why I am wrong, I am only wrong based on your play through which is entirely different to mine...don't mind discussing though...

  • The best option for me is to spare Kenny and go with him.

I completely agree with what you said. Kenny is family I can't kill him, which is why I'm undecided between the "Alone: shoot Kenny, leave Jane." or "Leave with Kenny/stay at Wellington." endings, which show Clem needs Kenny just as much as he needs her. What do you think I should choose, morality or friendship?

You can make Clementine hate Kenny but her pre-existing character already likes him why would she keep a drawing of kenny 2 yrs and 11 months into the apocalypse if she hates him? Even in Season 2 where she can optionally hate him there are scenes where it was clearly written for them to like each other the only in-charcater way your Clem can get rid of Kenny, is if you shoot him after he kills Jane cuz she has an angry and hateful expression which would fit your anti-Kenny Clem, instead of shooting him and mourning him which would contradict your Clem.

The problem is you can play Clem however you want and make her into YOUR Clem but since she wasn't playable in Season 1 her character was already established, with a few alterations from your Lee's choices, but ever since then Clem character was already established so when you pick choices in Season 2 it seems to contradict her in Season 1.
    Example:

    ATR
1- Save christa - You can leave her but Clem isn't the type to do that, she would throw the rock to help her.
2- Feed and kill Sam - She would give Sam food since she loves animals and would euthanize him out of mercy not leave him to bleed out.
3- Forgive Nick - She would forgive Nick when he explained his story because she would sympathize with him, not antagonize him.
4- Give water - She would give water to the man because she would want to know where Christa is and she would feel sorry for him.
5- Nick or Pete - This could go either way, but IMO saving Pete would make the most sense because in that moment Pete needed more help, plus due to the previous day's events she had more trust in Pete. Nick even berates Clem for choosing him instead of Pete.

    AHD
1-Take blame - This one could also go either way as well seeing as Clem just met Sarah 2 days ago, but with Clem being so nice she could defend her or since she barely knows her she could toss the blame.
2- Who did you sit with - Its a matter of preference but if you're staying faithful to Clem's original character you should sit with Kenny, plus its been 2 years and 11 months so wether they're friends or not Clem would still want to catch up.
3- Tell Walter the truth - No explanation needed if she lies Clem's just being a jerk for no reason.
4- Convince Walter - Same as above if she says Nick sucks she's getting him killed, and for what? Nick never did anything wrong to her.
5- Seek Kenny or surrender - This is a complex choice, but seeking Kenny and telling him to stand down seems like the most sensible thing to do IMO.

    IHW
1- Help Sarah - Choice is so easy its dumb.
2- Tell Bonnie - Clem would not easily trust Bonnie after AHD.
3- Theft - Clem would try to come clean cause she wouldn't want others to be hurt.
4- Watch - Obviously Clem's still a nice girl and she wouldn't watch such a scene. She didn't watch maliciously when Kenny killed Larry, or when Lee killed Danny and even in NTL she doesnt watch Lee gut the Walker to cover themselves.
5- Chop it off - Depends on personal opinion.

    ATR
1- Leave Sarah - Just as with Nick, Clem's a jerk if she doesn't save her. There are literally no consequences for wasting time on saving her, leaving her is just unnecessary.
2- Steal - This one is debatable cause Clem's in a position were she would have to abandon her morals for medicine but it would be hypocritical to steal when she didnt want Lee to do so back in SFH. Even though it contradicts Clem, robbing Arvo would make more sense because then he has a legitimate reason to come back.
3- Hold AJ - No brainer, why is this a major choice?
4- Leave in 2 days or the next day - Depends on personal opinion.
5- Shoot Rebbecca - Isn't it obvious? SHOOT HER.

    NGB
1- Go for cover - Save AJ obviously.
2- Cover Luke - Covering him instead of getting close makes more sense, you hear me Bonnie?
3- Ask to go with Mike - Pointless choice (Literally no impact) Clem would never EVER consider leaving Kenny and Jane over Mike.
4- Kenny or Jane - Here we go the reason why this thread exists. You're all gonna say its about personal opinion, but it makes the most sense for Clem to shoot Kenny because she helps people in need and watching him kill Jane isn't something Clem would allow, but then she would abandon Jane after she exposes her trickery. Go with Kenny is good too, because she cares about him and vice-versa (If you're faithful to her bond with Kenny). His two endings could go either way. The Jane endings go against what Clem, Kenny, Christa and The Cabin group all tried and most died to achieve this entire Season...Wellington.

The thread is entitled 'most characteristic ending for Clem' not 'most characteristic ending for a clementine who loves Kenny', and if it were the latter then obviously the Kenny endings fit.

  • The main problem with the multiple endings is that clementine is the same but it is not a different clementine it is a different thing a character is dealing with. Your choices don't matter and it makes the entire season pointless. I chose alone not because i felt it was best but because I found it the only interesting ending in the bunch.

  • The best option and more inline with her character from season 1 was to go with Kenny. "I vote Ben stays. Ben's nice and he's my friend. We don't leave friends behind."

Agreed, people say it's their Clem but she already has a character so some choices make more sense. To those who played The Witcher 3, there's a quest where you can let Dijkstra kill Roche but since Geralt already has a character, letting him kill Roche wouldn't make sense to his character. Same goes for Clem with the final choice.

  • Yeah. For me, going with Jane made no sense. She'd shown little loyalty to Clem or the baby and they had only really known each other for a day so I don't get how Clem could really trust her. Plus it made no sense that Jane would compare Clem to her sister when Clem had shown she was way more capable than all the adults put together by stealing a radio from Carver's camp and then switching the P.A system on. Not to mention the herd. Clem only became doubtful when she had to look after a pregnant lady.

On the other hand, Clem has known Kenny a lot longer, and though they've maybe not had many interactions. (Who knows what happened during the six month gap between A New Day and Starved for Help) she's seen him back Lee up even when they've not been seeing eye to eye on things. Kenny has never given her reason to doubt him.

It could be argued as well that Clem stuck with Kenny because he was her last reminder of Lee, a connection to the past.
