Fear The Walking Dead Season 1 a Disappointment?

Comments

  • I think it has definitely improved as it has gone along. The latest episode was pretty good in my opinion.

  • It didn't start off well, the first couple of episodes were a bit boring, but it has improved with every episode, the last episode was great.

  • Honestly.... yeah. Its watchable and all, but its not really living up to what I was expecting. And its getting kind of hard to defend this show from wannabe critics. (Stay away from AV Club and Hitflix. Those motherfuckers.....)

  • Not for me, Im enjoying it and I think they are setting up a lot for next season. Its not like people were totally in love with TWD season one going by the way people complained.

They do make some excellent posters though.

  • My feeling on critics are, say what they want, they wont change my opinion. They are, after all, just people.

  • I have mixed feelings on it so far. I think it's had some good moments, and it definitely has the potential to get better, but it's pretty clear (at least to me) that it's not living up to the original show, at least right now. I like the fact that they're looking at it from the perspective of a different kind of family (a divorced man with his ex-wife, kid, girlfriend, and "step"-kids) and I like the fact that it's not solely focused on Travis as much as the original show was focused on Rick in season 1; the characters definitely seem to be getting more balanced screen time. So that's all fine.

Nevertheless, I was expecting things to be moving a lot faster in this particular show, but I guess that was part of the twist of it--everyone was expecting them to go out into the desert to try to survive (they'd probably have been doomed in the desert, but it'd have been interesting to see what the family was going to try to do there) but instead the writers brought the military in instead.

One arc in particular that I appreciated and that I wished they'd spent a bit more time on was how Nick thought, early on, that he was absolutely crazy because he had witnessed people eating each other, and how no one else in the world seemed to believe him. If this show had stood alone as its own and if the original show had never existed, this would've been a great plot point to start from. Even though they did focus on it a bit, just the internal struggle Nick went through (was he insane? or was it just the drugs? or had he really seen what he'd really seen?) would've been great development and great story-telling if they'd focused on that a bit longer, imo.

  • It's ok.

  • Original show became boring and what producers do? A clone. No, thank you.

  • Not for me, I personally loved it, especially the finale.

  • I was expecting to see much more panic and outbreak, but it was okay.

  • I mean, it was alright, the last episode was really good

  • I thought it was fine not great but okay

I loved it! Waiting for Season 2! It was much better than original TWD's start I think. Now we can see how the apocalypse starts, but in TWD we just see Rick waking up and poof, everything is full of walkers. Fear TWD is much more interesting in the start.

  • I've enjoyed it.

  • It was okay but none of the characters stood out as that likable to me so I wasn't as invested in it as compared to the regular series or the game.

I thought it did the series of events and discoveries of the infection right but to me, the characters felt pretty dull.

  • Its pretty shitty.

  • only good episode for me was episode 6. i give it a 3/10. and now they are making a spin off of the spin off that will pass in the comercials, Fear the fear of the walking dead, -.-
    FOR REAL?! lol

  • I really liked it. It's certaintly better than nothing y'know.. The more zombie shows the better. Poor choice of lead actors though imo.

  • I liked it, from start to finish. It was very hard for me to care about any of the characters, at first. I just liked the story in the first couple episodes. But, I now like Maddie and Nick, and liked(RIP) Liza. Dr. Exner wasn't so bad in the end, she tried her hardest. But like Maddie said, "she's lost". Really liked that scene. I think she said it as in, "she is" lost. But I took it as "she has" lost, and I like to think Dr. Exner took it that way as well.

Idk, it was pretty cool, and I'm looking forward to next season.

  • It was alright. I was kind of taken back by the reveal in that finale that the group in this show is a bunch of assholes.

  • It was nice and that ending, oh man, many people didn't like the show because it was "slow" but I really enjoyed it.

  • It was okay, but I expected way better. Season 2 looks promising though.

  • They're creating shorts that take place on an airplane and will introduce a character for later seasons. Research would be nice before complaining, hell you can watch the shorts online as they come out.

  • The walking dead show as a whole is a disappointment.

  • What the hell is wrong with you people?! I think it was pretty great, and the character development was pretty good considering it was only 6 episodes. You guys expect way too much! It was actually better than I expected it to be! I feel like you guys are just not trying. At least 8/10 for me

  • I thought it was pretty good. Only thing I didn't like was it was overdramatised at points, at times felt a little cliche.

    I respectfully disagree.

  • I honestly liked it, it wasn't as captivating as I hoped but it was still pretty good imo.

  • Yep total disappointment. That's why it is the most watched show on TV.

  • Mobile games are some of the most played games ever. Does that mean they are good?

  • If people derive pleasure from them, then yes it does.

  • I love the zombie/apocalypse genre and how directors can tag along the drama and action however, I feel the show is alright the actors are mediocre and at times you forget it's even a zombie show :D

  • Well, if you want to be wrong, then you can go right ahead.
