Wasn't Raiden meant to represent the player's desires to be 'badass' just as Snake was, hence why he 'replaced' Snake initially, but turned out to be almost completely inferior to him in every way and could never hope to surpass him? Doesn't that really reinforce Snake's legendary status, since Raiden was designed just to make Snake look better?
Retrospectively metal gear solid 2 had a good story but even to this day I have always been disappointed at the fact that we had to take con… moretrol of such a stale and boring character (raiden) while snake was a supporting character. I would definitely have preferred playing as snake over raiden!
The point I'm making is not that season 3 couldn't be good for others without clem my point is that I wouldn't enjoy it half as much if she wasn't the protagonist. I dunno if I could watch walking dead if Rick died..
Which is why I think playing as Raiden worked better for Snake's development than playing as him directly for the entire game. Had Snake been under our control the entire time, I don't think that Snake wouldn't have had the development that he had as a major supporting character.
Metal gear solid 2 sucked without playing as snake. Gears of war wouldn't be the same without Marcus. Kane and lynch wouldn't work without the two. Hitman wouldn't work without agent 47. I could go on...
i honestly blame the writers for ruining clementine's character, i thought they would do better than making her a robot... it's just a shame that it didn't convince me that season 2 is another masterpiece, but no i still prefer season 1
I thought Clementine was a really interesting character, but there is no way I would just stop playing if she wasn't included. Every WD game… more i've played has been a high standard and some of the 400 days stuff was season 1 like quality to me. I have a feeling that most of the people saying it will continue to play future games and are just saying it out of anger. Only the really die hard Clementine fanatics would stop playing.
How would it be over? No it's not. There were 6 different endings for Season 2, that's like the biggest choice-tree so far, and they ended the season in the middle of it! It's the biggest cliffhanger in this story so far, Season 3 HAS to pick up where S2 left off.
I would prefer to continue playing as Clementine. Telltale's TWD felt like it was always about her imo. That said, if they decided on another character, I would still buy. Be very annoyed, but still buy.
When you put it that way, it sort feels like TWD Season 2 did the same thing for Lee. Clementine was just SO inferior as a pc it made me miss Lee that much more.

well now that we played as clementine in season 2 it seems pretty obvious that we're gonna play as her in season 3. But i did not like playing as clementine in season 2 and i think that's part of why i was dissapointed with season 2, clementine is a great character but she should not be the playable character. i've stated my reasons for this many a times before so i'm not gonna do it again unless someone asks me too :P
I want Season 3 to have Clementine as a main character in it but i would be happy if the main character was either Clementine, Christa or Lilly. I'm interested in seeing what happens next to all these characters and would like them to find each other again. Lilly and Christa in the same group would make a very interesting story imo.
Hopefully this argument will come to a close when Telltale announces whether or not Clem will be in Season 3. In the meantime I stand by my opinion that Telltale will not "ditch" Clementine in season 3. While season 2 in my perspective had little character development for Clem season 3 can still make up for that. That's why it doesn't make sense to end her story too soon.
I like Clem as a supporting character. But I don't like her as the main protagonist. Hard to put myself in an 11 year old girls shoes. So it takes me out of the story some.

I'd like Clem to be in season 3, whether or not we play her. As long as the npc Clem is slightly different depending on how we played her. I don't want another initial break out story. Let's pick someone up X years into the outbreak.

Go play MGS 5, and tell me MGS 2 sucked.
TBH i'm am at the opposite side of the spectrum, if they hire Clementine I WILL NOT BUY....
SO THERE.

haha sorry for you XD
Actually I would love to play as another character other than Clementine in Season 3.
I actually don't care who we play as, I'm still going to play just because I love the walking dead franchise.

It be fine with me. Saves me money to get a good game

It might have something to do with a mixed review season, and a three year wait, six endings etc.
