Is it better to...?
Have your sentinel, who already trust...or the traitor, who could redeem himself? I'm just not sure. I want to hear ALL of your opinions.

hmm... I'd say it depends on who the traitor or the sentinel is:)
Both are great men, but This, my friend, is really a hard question
I prefer having Royland, the most badass and most loyal man to House Forrester that ever lived, as Sentinel.
I had Sentinel-Royland at the end with me.
What about you?
I had traitor Duncan.
Ser Royland Degore as Sentinel, from start to finish. I can't think of a better set-up than that.
I didn't want Duncan as my right-hand-man and I definitely don't want traitor-Duncan.
I was so happy to see Sentinel Royland (and for me) Lord Rodrik survived and were reunited come the end. They're the best pair IMO.
Definitely a loyal Sentinel, especially if that Sentinel is Royland.
Okay, I'm gonna go back and kill Duncan.
I would advise you to stick with your canon choices, even if you regret them. It makes for a better story and the regret will shape your future decisions and develop your characters. Just my two cents.
I'm in the same boat as you, Asher and traitor Duncan. I honestly feel like this is the best combo. It's going to make for some really intense storytelling. Royland had already proven his loyalty beyond question, his death both satisfyingly wraps up his arc as well as motivate my Asher to survive and avenge them all. I advise you to stick this out with me before you start rewinding. I have a good feeling about it, no matter what happens
But I want Royland the Sentinel to be there for my canon save. Like you did when you rewinded to save Asher instead of Rodrik.
Okay, I see what you're saying. Why didn't you kill Duncan the first time if I may ask?
I thought that Gared might somehow return to Ironrath and he'd be fine if Duncan was alive. But that was before I thought that Royland can die if you spare Duncan. And besides, I'm having a YouTube channel soon, so I might as well kill Duncan to save Royland. And besides, Gared might die if I march south in season 2, so I just figured there was no point.
Me too, I'm sorta looking forward to seeing Duncan redeem himself.. it's just a little sad that in my playthrough Royland sacrificed himself to save his Lord.
People say it's Laughable at the fact Asher could be dead but Royland?
It feels weird but rest in peace Royland :')
I would rather have a loyal sentinel (Royland in my game) than a scumbag traitor who gave the Whitehills a lot of crucial information about the Forresters (how many fighting men, Asher returning, etc). In my opinion, the traitor doesn't deserve a chance to redeem themselves.
Well said, ShadowHunter94.
Edit- Royland lived.
EDIT Fuck that. Rodrik and Sentinel Royland to the end!
You know what? I'm gonna go back and stay with my original choice. I've been thinking it over and I figured @VengefulKenny was right. Duncan deserves a chance.
Killed traitor duncan and am with my sentinel
Killed Royland the traitor and I'm with my Sentinel, Duncan.
I hope you know that Royland was the only member of his family to survive. He was basically the last of his kind. It says so in the Codex.
ok
