I actually felt bad for *****.
I actually felt bad for Norma.
I honestly felt like the antagonist in this mini-series. We ruined her life, burned their home, killed her people, and killed her brother (even though Randall deserved it). And we even cut off her arm, ffs! All of that was fucked up and completely unnecessary.
Another thing: I don't think Norma ordered the deaths on the ferry. I think Randall did that on his own.
All of this shit happening is Sam's fault. She stole once, Norma let her off the hook, she stole again, and we burned their home. All of that bullshit is Sam's fault! Not Norma's, Sam's!
Am I the only one who feels this way?

I agree with you, a hundred percent. Won't elabore on it, because I've done it so many times by now that I'd feel like I am rehashing the same arguments over and over again. But I agree completely.
Her people did.
To escape from certain death after her people captured us.
They shot first.
He deserved it. Having a loving sister doesn't excuse his crimes. In fact Norma should beg for our forgiveness instead of trying to kill us.
Bitch tried to kill Oak and Michonne, she had it coming.
Apocalypse man, people do harsh shit. But this was necessary.
She deserved death, but I shake my head at the amount of people that let her get eaten. Most of which let Randall live. (Didn't want to fall to his level as they called it, GG) I mean after all that she's still human, one that I think didn't deserve such a brutal and painful demise.
Alright.
I agree, I completely regret letting her die a horrible way. She was such a reasonable person, she gives people chances, even the ones who destroyed her home. I can't believe I was forced to be on Sam's side, who started ALL this mess. Here is the proof:

Wernt you the guy who shot her because you wanted to kill her then went back and let her die because you realized that would be worse for her?
Why is this all over!
You're right, they are. That's, uh… one massive change of mind, @TheAutisticGamer.
Anyway no one was innocent in this story, however I ended up siding with Sam due to norma and her group being so uncooperative with me and then trying to kill me. I told sam that I hoped she learned a lesson from all this chaos, whether she did will be up to her.
The only truly villainous things Norma can do is to determinantly shoot Oak as punishment for not agreeing to release her brother right away and instead continue negotiating during the trade, and when she can shoot Zachary for attacking her while she was also trying to kill Michonne in a fit of rage after Randal dies.
Norma was no saint, but the majority of the time she was being tough yet reasonable, especially when considering how she was still willing to be cooperative even after Michonne and Sam had destroyed her community and got most of their people killed over what the minority had done to them.
If the writers had intended for Norma to appear as the villain here, I'm pretty confident that they failed.
I dunno. Is that your business? But yes, I am. But I've been thinking it over, and I finally thought to myself: "Why was I such a horrible person?"
Yeah, they really fucked up.
I dont think they intended her to really, her dialogue in episode 3 invokes sympathy.
Wha-? I thought you hated her.
I did, at first, but then I've rethinking too much and thought to myself "why was I such a horrible person?". She was such a reasonable person, even to the people who burnt their home down. I really regret being a bitch about her. A lot.
That fair enough. I havnt personally, I left her to die and stand by it
Thanks for understanding
They definitely didn't intend for her to be a villain, as far as I'm concerned
Did they intend for her to be an antagonist? Yes. In the most basic sense, she is a character that opposed the main character(s), so yeah, she fits the bill as an antagonist.
Did they intend for her to be a villain? No. Most of her actions are understandable and backed up by motivations that make sense, and she's far more reasonable than you'd expect the big bad of a story to be. If she was truly meant to be the villain, that trade scene wouldn't have played out anything like it did. Randall fit the role of villain far more than Norma ever did.
Yeah, you're right. I'm sorry, @Firewallcano.
You know, the more I see posts like this, the more I want someone from the Michonne team to chime in. I'm actually interested in what they'd have to say. Was the intent to make Norma the bad guy/villain? Did they intend for Sam to appear less justified than Norma? Was this intended to be a grey-area conflict?
I'd like to get their perspective on the matter. If anything, it'd make for interesting conversation.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for adding new writing directions and more morally grey-area conflicts, and I was rather impressed with how the finale didn't straight-up declare that everyone from Monroe was evil and deserved to die for standing against Michonne and Sam, hence why I had thought that Norma had made for a more interesting character than most from Season 2.
But given the biased support towards Sam and her antics and the lack of option to truly condemn her, I'm more inclined to think that the writers have always intended for the conflict to lean more towards black and white rather than grey vs gray.
Or maybe more like grey vs white.
Or maybe it's black vs blue.
You know, like that dress that gone viral.
I am still absolutely shocked at the amount of people who let her get eaten. She didn't deserve that at all.
Yeah, I fucked up. It seemed like I was the antagonist of this game. Stupid Sam though.
That's the decision I regretted the most in TWD Universe.
@IronWoodLover, do you get what I'm saying?
I regret it too, now. Shit, time to replay for the last time.
She killed Oak in my game... felt like she deserved it.
That was probably the issue I had with the Michonne series, I could tell Norma and her group weren't really bad people, and yet the circumstances were pushing for there to be a conflict with them when I wish there could've been an option for things to go peacefully.
The dress was white and gold.
Because you screwed up.
Man I have so much shit I want to say to that but that response isn't even worth a reply
I wouldnt say he screwed up himself, Norma still chooses to murder oak, just because michonne asks for him
Exactly. I didn't make a choice to kill Oak, it just happened because Norma lost her shit.
Plus Oak doesn't even have any dialogue if you save him, so I could argue that his death serves a better purpose story wise than him living
Plus the fact that there are no wrong choices because it's a tailored narrative...... SIGH...
Well, that was just a mistake.
Norma is a good example of how I hope the Whitehills are handled in season 2 of GOT. I enjoy being both the hero of my own story, and the villain of someone else's.
Play InFamous Second Son if you have a PS4 or InFamous 1-2 if you have a PS3 if you enjoy playing as hero or villain.
Thanks friend, I played Second Sons and did in fact go the villain route lol.
No sweat, mate.
Nope. Not the only one. I feel like Randall was only there to help you feel somewhat justified in your actions. But really, at the end of the day, it's pretty much all on Sam.
Boo Sam
