Community or Small/No Group?
What would your method or way of surviving. For instance would you have rather worked with someone like Carver or Negan if it meant certain safety and likely survival? If it were me I'd stick with them. When you're in an armed and protected community you don't run the same risks you would on your own. While true you're 100% free and can come and go as you wish you still don't have people watching your back and it only takes one slip up to die in the ZA. I'd rather be with insane but organized humans than monsters and bandits.

I can't lie and say I wouldn't love the security of a community in a ZA even if run by mad men, but I would like to do some good even if it's for total strangers. People like Carver or Negan tend to frown upon such a thing. So I couldn't see myself getting along with em. You're free to do crazy shit, but acting civil, helping some random people, or forgiveness would be a bad move. That being said, I guess it usually ends up with people coming together to form communities no matter what or you become a filthy scavenger weirdo lol.
I think it would be harder alone than in a group to survive without a defend-able shelter. You could be careful and creative for a while, but you have to sleep and eat sometimes. I think speaking realistically, a group would be a necessity for long term survival. I wouldn't sell out to someone who has no sense of morality or human decency for protection though.
I'd do the exact same thing as you. Being with crazy but smart people is better than being with a buncha rapists and murderers.
If I had to choose between Carver or Negan I would choose neither and go on my own because both are bad men and criminals. Now if it was say with someone like Lee or Kenny then no doubt I would go with a group.
I think a Community would be the best way to go about it, since you'd more likely have protection, resources and people. However, if the community doesn't work, bad things can happen as we've seen time and time again with post-apocalyptic movies, shows, books and games.
That's a tough question and provides a huge moral conflict. If I had to choose, even if it meant having it run by a Negan or a Carver, or even a Governor, I would take my chances with the community. You have food, security, weapons, a roof over your head, but at the same time, you'd be giving up your freedom and would be forced to do whatever the leader tells you or go along with his or her decisions, even if you know they're wrong. Being on your own or with a small group gives you more freedom, but also lowers your chance of survival, and with supplies running low, being forced to scavenge for food, medicine, etc., the walkers may become the least of your worries. Then there's always the chance of coming across a huge group, and if they take the Negan or Governor approach, your basically fucked. Both sides have their pros and cons, but if it means a better chance of survival for me and the people I care about, I would have to go with the community, even if it means innocent people getting hurt or being killed and choosing to ignore my conscience and let it happen.
While communities like Carver's do offer a lot of in terms of survival (food, water, protection), I'd still choose to either go in a small group or on my own. I wouldn't be willing to sacrifice my freedom and morality, considering how large community groups tend to go about getting their supplies, and despite the benefits, it's not worth being controlled by a dictator and loosing my own identity. Surviving may become a hell of a lot more difficult, but at least when I end up dying, I won't have as many regrets because I chose to sell out to the likes of Carver.
I hate people.
I'd Will Smith-it and have a faithful dog run around with me going on badass adventures and fucking shit up. Maybe I'd keep a tied up racist redneck with an eyepatch so that I could viciously maim and bring great bodily harm to him for just reminding me of another certain character from a certain video game series.
That's a tough decision. I either want to be alone, with one person or with a smart group (People who are not cold-blood murderes, who know how to fight and scavenge supplies and who only kill people that make trouble around first). I can accept a community as well, one which is very well defended, has food, water, weapons, comfortable beds, so I don't have to go around in circles for supplies and with people who teach folks who don't know much fighting and survival.
Being on your own or on a small nomadic crew is highly romanticized in media. Can you imagine being by yourself, so weak that you cannot fight walkers anyone, scavenge for supplies, or defend yourself from bandits?
Besides, if you don't like how things are being run at the community, you can always attempt to pull off a Stephanie—taking as much as you can hold and running off to the woods.
Well, in a community, you could have a place to hide if it gets run over, and to show that there's not animosity towards whoever wants to leave, you could send a small portion of the community to go scavenge food for their leave, so that they have enough to survive with and the community retains their food resources.
But in a small or no group, you don't have anyone/you have less people to argue with when it comes to important decisions, and you could always choose to join a community if you so wish. Hiding everyone involved would be easier, too.
I would prefer to be with a group and community like the Alexandria Safe Zone- post Rick and Friends. I wouldn't want to be lead by a leader with a Chaotic Evil worldview.
and then Kenny becomes Carver and you don't know what to do
