I REALLY want flashbacks to the S1 and S2 groups
Season 3 has a great chance to intertwine flashbacks to season 1 and season 2's characters since this quite possibly might be the final season. The flashback at the end of season 2 was extremely emotional and it lets us know that Clementine can physically never forget any of them. But I also think the second season's cast shouldn't be forgotten. I would love to see flashbacks with Luke, Nick, etc. It would give them some character development as well that they desperately needed. But it will also give more weight to their loss that we didn't quite get when it happened in season 2. Just a thought. What do you guys think?

I really dont want flashbacks, a few mentions maybe but Id rather focus on the now
Yeah I hear you. I'm a chronological kind of guy myself. I guess I just wish we had some more time with the characters because it seems like a lot of great ones were gone way too fast.
One or none. With the game have two or more it will be probably the result of bad writing. Also, I think that in this case a flashback from Season Two would be the best bet. But, a flashback from the time that Clem was off-screen is so needed that it is almost certain.
I want nightmares. Bringing back older characters without it being in a flashback makes sense if done as nightmares. I don't want Clem to suffer those, but I imagine it'd make sense since she's probably guilt-ridden, and also I have my own reasons for wanting these characters to return.
Flashbacks to Season Two don't seem likely unless it took place during a time skip. The flashback to Lee just barely worked IF it was a flashback instead of just a dream.
Also, the nightmare/dream/flashback/whatever needs models. If they don't have those, then those scenes would mean next-to-nothing for me.
It means that they'll have to re-make character models from previous seasons because they are using an updated engine (graphics) for S3.

I'd be fine with flashbacks, on one condition; they're relevant to the story, and not just there as pure filler or emotional impact. That's not to say they can't have some emotional impact, but don't make it the centerpiece of the scene. Contrary to how some people feel, I think the Lee flashback in S2 is perfectly fine; it's short, sweet, and more or less relevant to the events to come. It has a purpose for being there, and more specifically, a purpose for why it happened at this point in the story in particular. The flashback at the beginning of the third episode of the Michonne miniseries is another good example, if you ask me. It has some relevance to what Michonne's going through, what she's about to go through, and it acts as retroactive character development for some of lesser seen characters in the series.
If you have a few flashbacks in the same vein as those two, I'd totally be on board for it. Not to mention that flashbacks would potentially benefit Clementine's character, in a sense; it helps give the player an idea of who particularly struck a chord with Clementine, whose words or actions left a big enough impact to be revisited, or truthful enough to hold a special meaning going forward.
