And what's wrong with that? Season 2 had a definitive ending so making a direct sequel would ruin it. This time skip is a great idea, because it doesn't directly follow the ending of S2, Clem is a different person now, and the story is self contained so new players can enjoy it.
Please read: Quality of Posting
The community is more engaging to participate in if users focus on having quality discussions instead of … morefocusing more on posting ironic jokes, memes, etc. Jokes/memes/gifs/etc are fine in normal amounts, but for the most part, please make an effort to first and foremost have genuine and quality discussion.
* It is preferred that you mainly communicate with your own comments, opinions, and discussions instead of letting jokes/memes/videos/gifs/pictures do the talking for you. It is frowned upon when a user's posting history contains more gifs/memes/videos/etc or ironic comments and jokes than there are actual attempts at quality discussion.
* Please refrain from low effort posting. Low effort posting consists of frequently making posts that mostly consist of meme responses, ironic comments, or comments that jokingly insult other users in ways that would otherwise be offensive to strangers.
A frontier is kind of like the wild lands of a place, near the border. The best example is the American frontier, basically everything west of the Mississippi River before it was "tamed", all wild and such. Something new, unexplored, wild.
So, from what they've said about rediscovering society and rules, and law, etc. We might bump into another or other group(s) during the seas… moreon. Or, they get in trouble with some group and are forced on the run/chasing after a group? Ahh! Who knows, we'll get details later in the fall. Fun, teasing panel though.

I just want to say that im not too crazy about the tittle....but its still the walking dead so im happy...also the release date is perfect for me.
Im disappointed they dident give us more...but im glad they dident. Because that means that i can buy it and hve no clue of what im getting myself into...
Im reading the comments and 2 people are arguing about because the tittle has changed our choices from S1 and S2 wont matter....but they will because TT have said it does...
I dont mind plying as Javi though the whole game because even though i havent played as him i know im going to love him no matter what....and also seeing Clementine...Alive...In one piece....(Well kind of) And im amazed and so proud of her for living after everything she went though....So im going to say that im very excited to play this
PS- Also i want to apoligise for being a freak last night all that news what kind of imploding my mind) (And also for all the gifs i was not aware that i could only put a certain amount up so Sorry!!!) lol
With this new title, it feels like a fresh new take on the series rather than a continuation of the story of the first two seasons. This will obviously benefit newcomers to the series, but I wonder how they will balance this with staying true to the original story they created.
"A new frontier" says everything you need to know, that's one of two good things about it. The other is that this season appears to focus on the particular theme of rebuilding humanity and the struggles associated with that, rather than focusing on a certain character like Clem. Other than that, it just seems an unnecessary addition to the title, making it really long winded.
That save system configuration sounds great. I own TWD S1 and S2 on the PC, so because my laptop can't run the newer games now, I was worried about not having the ability to import my saves from the previous games on my PS4. It should at least let you customise the more major decisions anyway (I haven't watched the video yet or anything, so just going off the information in the OP.)

because you're saying the new name means a new story and i'm telling you the only new thing is Javier cause he will be like lee to the newcomers nothing more you think the new name will change the game story , and i wanna clarify that the story don't have to get changed by changing the title name
you know why they said the walking dead telltale games series the new frontier they said it like this just to clarify to people that the story is still the same and the series is the same
Daze i don't want telltale to explain Kenny/Jane's fate through dialogue. I want to see them in season 3 and hopefully have them play some sort of important role but not necessarily have them appear on screen a lot. I will be annoyed if they only mention it through Clem's dialogue.
But we will see what happened after S2 ending in flashbacks. Return of old characters, with the exception of Kenneth and Jane who will probably appear in flashbacks, would be an unnecessary fan-service.
It wasn't. Some people just whine that, apparently a approximate release date, themes and ideas that this season will explore, new title, Q&A, updated poster, release date for Batman Ep. 2, hinting MC:SM second season and Poker Night 3 wasn't enough. So if you're not 7 years old I'd say go watch it.
i really hope that the writing will be on point compare the writing in s2. every time i play s1 the story telling and the fact that your cho… moreices feel like they matter repeatedly hits me in the face. i want the writing and character's deaths matter. in s1 it feels like your choices do impact the characters. e.g like if you try to save Larry then Lilly will be on better terms with Lee compare to the option if your the one who kills Larry. also if try to save Ben in the church tower it leads Kenny sacrificing himself in the alleyway.
That's quite insulting to people saying that. So anyone that didn't like what was said at the panel means they are 7 year olds? That's what you are saying?
The thing people were most unhappy with was what they said regarding the walking dead, not necessarily anything else. Everything they said about TWD was stuff we already knew. The only new info was the month of release and the new season title

Isn't a release date MUCH more than they usually reveal at panels like this? And instead for being happy and grateful almost everyone started insulting TTG, whine, saying that the panel was o waste of time etc.
If someone gets this angry about a release date for the game their waiting for, they must be around 7 years old.

They didn't confirm a release date—they said that A New Frontier aka Season Three would be released on November, and a general month to expect is nothing out of the ordinary at this point.

You seem surprised. This is classic Telltale. I'd known this would be the case soon as they announced we begin as Javier and then confirmed we meet Clementine after the time skip
"We will learn more about Clementine's past through Javier" So the endings don't matter other than some dialogue? Wonderful! Hopefully this … moreisn't the case and they will actually show flashbacks, if Kenny and Jane died in the time skip I want to see how it happened and how it all played out.

Interesting... Fan Q&A question: Season 2's endings - impact on New Frontier: "Your endings will be represented in Ep 1, possibly further"; "Your story will be explained and you will see familiar characters"; Javier has to unravel that mystery out of Clem, who has changed a lot in the time that has passed.

Thanks Ozzy, we can always count on you
that is a matter of opinion.

OH MY GOD CLEMENTINE COULD GO BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!!!!! xD lol

Clem: Will there be homework?

Nop
Ouuuu I JUST THOUGH OF SOMETHING AMAZING!!!! JAVI CAN TEACH CLEM HOW TO DRIVE!!! xD lol
Pfft Clementine can drive...just not well lol.
So, from what you people are telling me, this panel was disappointing! Glad I didn't watch it.
Clem:
Exacly..he can teach her how to drive WELL! Like Ellie from the last of us

Nice! Thanks for recording as always!

Don't you need that finger to work chopsticks at a Chinese? That might come into play.
Couldn't agree more with you @thedreamcatcher

thanks @dan290786 high - five. peace i am out.
"Season Two"?
What kind of convoluted title is that?
I hope my final choice with Clem with Jane and letting survivor in haven't influenced her in a negative way. : /
Even if it was only a specific month and not a date, that's still way more than we usually get.

That is the official title. With italization and everything.
