  • I shot Kenny and stayed with Jane. I let the family in but I'm kind of questioning that decision. I will replay both games at some point before buying Season 3.

  • I looked away, then stayed with Kenny and left Wellington.

  • In Jane's Ending there's a family you encounter.

    Family?

  • Save 1 - Shot Kenny; Forgave Jane; Let Randy, Patricia and Gill stay
Save 2 - Did not shoot Kenny; Forgave Kenny; Went to Wellington
Save 3 - Did not shoot Kenny; Forgave Kenny; Stayed with Kenny
Save 4 - Did not shoot Kenny; Then shot Kenny; Was Alone

    I need more saves man.

  • The only ending that made sense to me... Even if it does involve AJ.

And on an unrelated note, there's something immensely badass and inherently cool about a child and a baby covered head to toe in blood looking into the distance stoically and without emotion.

  • Killed Kenny on my first playthrough, then rewinded, let him kill Jane and left Wellington with him.

  • Best thing: let Kenny kill then you get option to shoot him and stay at Wellington to starve.

  • Shot Kenny, left Jane, alone with AJ. I liked Jane and I actually stayed with her in my other save slot, but I prefer the alone ending.

  • The only ending that made sense to me is staying with the guy you've known the longest and not someone you've only known 3 or 4 days, and being alone is not an option for me although Clem could probably look after herself well enough. And in the case of my playthrough, my Lee would have wanted that for Clem and i know he would have wanted my Clem to help "him" best she could through his problems because deep down he is a good man who has made many mistakes but always means well. "He" (in my playthrough) was the only family Clem had left whether people like that or not and sadly everyone else close to her have gone. After all "family is what matters" right Luke?

Just putting myself in Clem's shoes. That is what i would do if it was me anyway.

  • I'm going to dismantle my own façade for a moment (don't get use to it) and ask a seriously posed question.

Did you, as a player who (I'm assuming) went off with Kenny, find the inclusion of Wellington at all to be slightly distracting to the otherwise emotionally gauging scene?

  • I don't know how you shoot Kenny or stayed at Willington. I stayed with Kenny. I wonder if the 3rd season started with my choice. Really.

  • Distracting? How exactly do you mean?

  • Meaning as someone who found the scene to be absurd and Wellington's odd procedure for strays (giving people entire duffle bags of supplies for nothing for example). Does the scene feel misbalanced or maybe even slightly inappropriate considering the determinately emotional send-off it was aiming for players to feel?

The reason I ask is that even with me being a player who absolutely detests Kenny's character, I found that the scene's tone felt disingenuous. Supposedly, it was set up for an emotionally tear-jerking sentiment but staggered coarsely from one emotional objective to another (why have both Clementine and Kenny sob profusely and act as though they're caught in a dire situation if the player can then choose to "Leave with Kenny" and dismantle the whole scene's heightened emotional context?)

I liked the scene as a whole regardless of choice. I have a save for every outcome.

I don't think it was misbalanced. I understand why they did what they did. It makes me think that Wellington is where they wanted the players to end up eventually but still gave us the choice to choose. The sobbing was to obviously make people feel like it was a send off for both characters.

I see what you mean. I think that ending was the only decent tear jerking moment in the entire series. Goes to show how poor season 2 was compared to S1

I think what they were trying to get across was that situation is that there is a serious paradox going on in that no matter what choice you make, you have to make a sacrifice.

As you know, Kenny was a member of the same groups that Lee joined with Clementine under his guidance; though they didn't interact much during that time, finding his alive again gave her someone she was familiar with through their mutual connection to Lee. Meanwhile, Jane seemed like she was intended to be someone who is like Clementine but older and jaded; someone she had a inherent kinship, though she only knew her for a few days. The issue with both is that while Clementine's reasons for liking both are personal, the actual connections themselves were a bit rough and incidental.

Whether you love either Kenny or Jane, like both, or can't stand either, it basically comes down to what Clementine wants and who she feels a stronger connection to, if any at all. Does she choose someone who reminds her of a happier time through their mutual history or does she choose some who encourages her to forget in favor of moving into the future? Or, does she take a third option by rejecting both and heading off to live life her own way in the then and now?

Of course, the answer you is Kenny, the answer for [insertnamehere] is Jane, and the answer for me is neither.

  • Exactly right DabigRG! That was me basically saying why that ending for me is the one i wanted and what I would have done had i been in Clem's shoes
