A few moments where Jane Vs Kenny was foreshadowed or implied... (EP 4 and 5)
I've realized that starting with episode 4, Telltale has foreshadowed Jane V Kenny way before Luke was gone. I know everyone was expecting a Luke V Kenny but I think its been Jane V Kenny all along. Some moments are more obvious than others while some moments people may have overlooked.
Before Luke Dies
1. When Jane is talking to Clem about being alone after they set off, the first person she mentions is Kenny and then Rebecca
2. When Luke goes to see Jane and Clem after the Arvo situation, he only mentions Jane and Kenny when talking to Clem. He talks about how helpful Clem thinks Jane is and how unstable he thinks Kenny is.
3. When your at the fireplace, the two people you have to offer wine to are Jane and Kenny. Jane and Kenny are the ones who are away from the group and you have a conversation with both of them.
4. When Jane and Clem are talking after the Russian incident, she only talks about Kenny's issues and how he needs help.
5. Jane and Kenny both go to scout the place out that arvo first took them too,
After Luke Dies
1. When helping Kenny with the car, he talks bad about Jane. He mentions how she doesnt have respect for others.
2. When talking with Jane back in the house, she talks bad about Kenny. She mentions how he is like carver.
3. When arguing at the truck, you can only side between Jane and Kenny or none. I find it weird that there was no Mike and Bonnie option. You can agree with Jane about going back to Howe's or agree with Kenny about going to Wellington.
4. Jane and Kenny were the two not involved in Mike, Bonnie, and Arvos plan. Excluding Clem.
Anyway, it was just a few things I noticed after playing the game and wanted to share with the community. I think Luke V Kenny was way too obvious so I searched around and found these cool points.
Comments
on episode 5 it was obvious but with episode 4 the implications were more of just because of Kenny s current state of mind and Jane s Loner personality.
Another one I think is worth mentioning:
I agree about the foreshadowing in EP5 but I think any before that is coincidence.
This is my opinion but it seems pretty clear to me that they were setting up for Kenny VS Luke.
How about Sarah vs. Jane?
I noticed on a playthrough that when Kenny is threatening to shoot Arvo at the beginning of episode 5, you can see Jane in the background with her hand in her pocket, for a knife or gun im not sure. You can see it when she talks during the scene, almost ready to act should Kenny do something.
I know, right? I really wanted a gif of Amethyst getting spindashed like 8 times in row just to get the point across, but that works almost as well I guess.
You know what, that was always intended to be a part of that Sarah Analysis topic I wanted to do back when I first joined but whaddyagonna do? Shit happens.
But yeah, pretty much anyone was likely to go off on Jane at some point.
Yeah, I noticed that too. Probably because he was at risk of shooting Luke more than Mike or Arvo, but yeah she was clearly ready to be on him.
Also, dat goofy closeup.
Didn't notice that myself. A bit strange since she robbed Arvo earlier and threatened to kill him if she saw him again. As for Kenny doing something, he definitely should have imo. The group being more concerned about Arvo than the guy who had almost singlehandedly saved thme from the Russians is a joke and he probably shoulda killed them then and there and saved them from trying to rob him of everything later on. Should have definitely put a bullet in Clementine's head if she opened her mouth to defend Arvo when Kenny wisely used him a shield/hostage when the crazy Russians were trying to kill him
Look dude, I don't to start any fights but MAN is this not making Kenny's side of things seem any better than any other character's.
There's also some built-up to Kenny's dislike for Jane, and Jane distrust for Kenny.
Jane will always ask Rebecca if she has something to defend herself after Kenny has his mental breakdown on Clem.
Jane (while looking at Kenneth): Listen, Rebecca, if anything goes wrong here, you got something to protect yourself?
Rebecca (while holding Carver's tiny gun): I've got this. You don't think I'll need to-. (She cuts what she was saying and worryingly looks at Kennster).
Jane: I dunno. But you better keep that close.
Jane was obviously expressing worry and distrust for Kenny.
Kenny, while educating Luke, calls Jane and Luke's acts irresponsible and childish. It's implied that he disliked what Jane and Luke did.
These actions might've been what created the first sparkles of dislike and distrust between Jane and Kenny. Who would've though that they would end up on a fight to death because of these tiny little things?
Jane and Kenny also interact of screen sometimes.
Just to emphasize that their rivalry doesn't exactly thecome from nowhere. It had some hints beforehand.

I don't really care about other people liking or hating him or the whole drama on here, but that's how part of me feels about the situation .
I fixed the problems with your posts
Honestly, that was definitely less of him not liking her and more "Witty'Kenny'Dialogue!" while hyping up Jane even though she's pretty much a gimmick in that episode, complete with a goofy closeup of her sinister face while Clementine follows her immediately afterwards.
Huh?
To be fair, that was a logical conclusion given what Mike and Bonnie said and how he talks to Clementine when she goes over to talk to him. I never thought he'd actually do anything, but I can understand her 'concern'.
The problem is that the foreshadowing ONLY happened in episode 5, so we could see it could happen while we played episode 5 but it still seemed to come out of nowhere because they barely had an opinion of each other in episode 3 and 4. And any hint that they didn't like each other before then isn't foreshadowing because Kenny really didn't get along with anybody. By that logic, we can say there was more foreshadowing to a Kenny vs. Mike finale.
They probably were setting it up to be Kenny vs Luke so it would act as a decoy to players. But I feel like in the development process they had already set Luke up to die and the fight between Kenny and Jane was always meant to happen but as players we wouldn't of guessed it earlier. I think that's great with Telltale's writing is that they set things up to seem as if we know what's going to happen but we really don't. So Telltale probably did write the game to be set up for Kenny and Luke but final story line was to be Kenny and Jane.
The only foreshadow I saw was Luke's (and Bonnie's) death.
Autocorrect.....
Apparently 'put Sarita' = 'Luther'. Smartphone. Yeah sure...
Anyways; "Jane'll tell Clem that she can put Sarita down if Kenny wants."
I'm not criticizing or saying that her 'concern' is invalid. I'm just pointing out little details that show that Jane and Kenny already had some distrust and dislike for one another before it became the main focus of the story in No Going Back.
Again, I never said these were unknown or not obvious facts, just stuff that shows that Kenny and Jane were not fond of each other even before he went completely nuts in No Going Back.
I'm laughin' SO hard right now! For a second there, I thought that was her way of inviting Clementine to get down and dirty with Kenny and Sarita.
Jane: Hey Clem, tell Kenny I can "Luther" down if he wants.
Clementine(with Georgian accent): Woooah, slow down there! You trying to kill me?!
I don't see the sense in doing that.
The thing is he'd pretty much be making things even worse for himself: killing Clementine would be a middle finger to pretty much everyone who cared about her, including himself, and would pretty much earn a karmic beatdown and/or death at the hands of Jane, Luke, Mike, or Bonnie, effectively leaving Arvo and Jane looking even better than they would have otherwise and averting Mike's betrayal in favor of his own.
He actually said that in a positive manner about her if you replay the scene see the look on his face. I mean he didn't seem to have a problem with her then
The season didn't have the pizazz to pull off a plot definitive enough to warrant a clear plot for foreshadowing in the first place.
Pretty much. STICK TO F@(#!#@ GUNS!
