  • Thought so. As much as I hate Jane, it's admittedly a little fuzzy whether she technically betrayed Clementine from certain POVs.

As for Bonnie, I always kinda felt bad for her after Luke died given what we've been shown about her life up to that point. I don't approve of what she did in reaction to that, but I understand that she was in a dark place.

To be fair, I'm sure she meant that at the time. I talked about this somewhere before, but it's entirely possible outright betraying Clementine wasn't on her table when Mike came to her about leaving. Leaving her to die is determinately an overly harsh reaction to not being able to personally save Luke.

Also, most of that is inaccurate.

Bonnie told me she'd never betray me ever again. And then 2 episodes later, she turned out to be nothing but a big, fat, hypocritical liar.

  • LOL! Arvo is completely innocent.... apart from that one time he almost fatally wounded us. GTFOOH, that asshole got every punch he deserved.

  • Mmmmokay is everyone just gonna forget how Arvo held Clem at gunpoint during their first encounter, and the whole lie about "my sick seestah?"

  • Well yes, the big and fat parts are inaccurate, but I only meant figuratively lol.

  • Actually, Natasha was [at the very least] intended to be sick: Arvo's bag consisted of mostly painkillers and he described her sickness as causing her to cry, which makes the walkers cum. Natasha was indeed supposed to have sickle cell anemia, which matches up with the symptoms and prescripted medication perfectly. Her strained unused/muffled English dialogue combined with her pale skin seem to back this up.

As I brought up in Dan's topic, people apparently assumed Arvo was lying because Natasha came along for the confrontation (and because they don't like him, but the point being), when this could be an indication of what type of person she is. It's entirely possible that going after the group was her idea, since it was her health, her medicine, and her brother that was threatened. Granted, that's just a hypothesis on my part. but the alternative cutscenes and translated dialogue seem to back this up a bit.

  • Thank you for the backup, but as a general rule I don't take the wiki's word on ages to heart since anyone can edit them with what age they think the characters are. I only really go off of developer or in-game confirmation (Lee is 37, Sam is 22, Luke is 27, etc). So I guess whoever edited the wiki just agrees with me about Arvo's appeared age, haha

You're not too far off; wiki says late teens = 17-19 but he doesn't look like he'd be out of high school yet. I agree, the age thing is a poor excuse. I myself haven't used the argument but some people do and it's stupid.

  • Who is us?

And unless you can think of a far better argument than that one MAJOR f*** up, then just walk away. I have a list of things here that I can use.

  • Once again with the near-intentional racial slanders...

And what the heck would you do to keep your stuff safe? No matter what, there's no possibility that a child couldn't handle themselves considering the apocalypse had been active for over two years. That, and Arvo was just jumpy.

I guess TV Tropes was a more spot on about the Russian Group than I thought: though Vitali seems a little more sensible at first before things got outta hand so I guess he just has a dangerous fuse. But yeah, Buricko seems like an even bigger dick than I thought considering Vitali(the crazy one) is asking him to calm down.

Interesting that Clementine can try to downplay that she consciously robbed him or offer to give him something in return.

Also, I love how Bonnie apparently reacts to learning Arvo's name with disgust, not to mention how angry she is in general. Wow, Kenny really is Not so Different to a LOT of people.

Probably. Again, something that should've/would've made that situation a tad more interesting/complicated/grey than "You robbed this guy! Oh wait, he's a Russian? Nevermind--the Cold War is NEVER over! This is for the RED SCARE! Remember the CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS!"

You also forgot to look at Natasha's appearance - pale skin, somewhat slurred speech, she also looked scrawny (not the starved type). I forget who it was that made the comment, but they linked everything with what Natasha was sick with.

  • @Everyone'sClemInTime

I don't find actions driven by such selfishness can be classified as morally grey. We knew that his intent was "revenge." Which in and of itself certainly isn't morally pure. I'd argue in his case was morally vile.

But all-in-all, the episode is really to blame so I find that although Arvo is a fucking piece of bologna. Much like everything else, he's almost too unbelievable in his motivations.

Clementine would've realistically shot him the moment he reached back into his truck to pull out a rifle, and from a writing standpoint would've divided people more down the middle if there were a scene in which Clementine talks to a tied up Arvo rather than kicking the audience little glances of him and Mike sucking each other off or whatever the fuck she was seeing.

Dividing wasn't something TT wanted though, cause we're supposed to be invested in Kenny and Jane's arbitrary feud entirely so I assume they just wanted another "empathetic villain."

Sorry to dig up an old comment, but what did you mean by this? I think I get the gist, but I'm curious for your take.

  • He SHOT Clementine. How do you counter that?
