And "A New Frontier" is set up in Virginia.

Quite a few people are assuming, or at least hoping, that a bunch of characters return.
I think that unless Clementine actively returns to areas where she knew people before, that would probably break my immersion a bit. America is a huge continent and I wouldn't want Clementine to do another Kenny with half the past crew.
If anything, it would be interesting to meet "witnesses" perhaps someone that met a aquaintance of Clementines and can at least confirm recent survival for a character or two, that might be a good way to boost the fanbase with a bit of hope without making the game into Illium from Mass Effect.
