I took that as the flashbacks would be what you got for Clem's ending in Season 2, and that you would not literally replay other scenes in t… morehe new engine. Then, present day would be the new story with Clem and Javi against... whatever threat they are up against.
I believe that regressing to the first months of the apocalypse from Clementine's perspective would be counter-productive; it is irrelevant at this point, since it would add nothing to the current storylines.

So why isn't there any news about the delay? Because virtually every retail sight including Amazon and GameStop had it as coming out today 11/15/16 and now it's a placeholder 12/31/17 or February of 2017.
I don't mind delays if they improve upon and polish a game, but where virtually every retail sight has it listed at a certain date and either the date was incorrect or there has been a delay, so one or the other it would have been really nice for the developers and/or publisher to keep loyal fans in the loop.
They are probably trying to wait until they have finalized info to give. Jumping the gun doesn't help anyone. I would guess that, perhaps they delayed New Frontier as they did with Michonne, but this time around with the intention of improving the engine or something. That's just my guess as a community volunteer mod.

We shall see...though I heard a rumour from a very reliable source who works in the industry that this season will deal with the fact the walkers were created by aliens. Apparently they are based in a goat farm.

Well ok...see this all started when the United States shot down that UFO at Roswell New Mexico. Most of the crew died and the bodies were taken to Dayton Ohio...home of the infamous Hanger 18. Then sent to Area 51. However there was a survivor. Now according to my source...this alien could take human form and began his mission of revenge by contaminating the food supply. He opened a Goat Farm. Now as you know..goat milk is higher in vitamins than cow milk and makes a better cheese product.
Slowly..over the years his nefarious plan was starting to work. All the fancy restaurants and exclusive desert chefs were demanding the special goat milk. Soon all he had to do was wait for someone to die...and the outbreak would start.
Very scary...Now the alien has AJ and is making an army of intelligent walkers.
