Fair enough but there have been movies and TV shows that have been ruined because of brining in more comic book elements that haven't worked well on screen. Hopefully that doesn't happen with Walking Dead.
I don't think it would make much sense to bring characters from past seasons since this is a completely different story in a completely diff… moreerent place and time. Not to mention it's more centered around Javier and less on Clementine. Who were they going to bring back anyway? Almost all characters are dead. I honestly don't see Kenny or Jane's appearance making sense in this story either (as much as I want Kenny to come back). Besides, most people follow the comics or at least watch the show so introducing a loved character like Jesus is a smart move by Telltale.
I don't and there are plenty of other players who don't watch or read The Walking Dead either. Are we really supposed to get hyped by the appearance of a character from the comics when we don't know him?

This is a flashback. She has her ring finger and is wearing a different jacket.
Another part of the flashback. I think someone (Jane or Kenny maybe) is either killed and Clem is shooting at the killer or Clem is having to put down someone who is turning or about to turn (Jane or Kenny maybe).
Also, I agree with others that it seems like Clem is hiding AJ in the present for safety reasons.
There are some scenes with some sort of black shadow around it. More flashback scenes?
This trailer made it harder to piece together how Clem and Javier met, their initial impressions, and just the direction of the story. I tried to string a theory together based upon this trailer and the extended look at TGA, but I keep finding holes in my theory based off of these two looks. This actually make me like the trailer more; leaves me with more questions than answers.
Don't forget that she might not be with either too. My assumption is that the basis for the trailer's "canon" storyline is exactly that, so Telltale doesn't risk showing what capacity those two characters are in the game, in.
I'm just throwing some things at the wall here.

This is the location that we have seen on multiple occasions, where Javier resides, first seen in the blue screenshot of Javier and two of his relatives. You can recognize it due to the wrecked shipping containers.
In this scene, Javier is collecting three of his surviving family members—Kate, Noah, and in the background Eleanor—who were hiding under the trapdoor of what appears to be a restaurant, going by the checkered black and white tiles. This is possibly the bar of "Schulenburg" that @EpicMustacheGuy found.
While being held hostage by the antagonists, whom we previously knew as Capricorn Farm and now as The New Frontier, Javier looks at a second person held captive. The antagonists are holding the protagonist captives at the junk jard also known as Schulenburg.
By the far right, somebody is trapped and seemingly unconscious in the car. Judging by their skin tone and hair color, I would say that they're one of Javi's relatives.
We can see Clementine and Javier running toward the gate of Schulenburg; notice that there are other inhabitants reaching the door before our two protagonists.
Javier and this man that appears several times in the trailer—whom we will momentarily name John—are speaking as smoke emerges in the middle of the night.
Javier is pulling off a Norma.
In this shot, Javier shouts at the driver of this barricaded vehicle to take Kate away, possibly shortly before the appearance of The New Frontier.
Here we can see that Jesus, Noah, Clementine, Javier and John are escaping in the dark, possibly fleeing Schulenburg after the arrival of our beloved goat farmers.

I edited things up after realizing that the junk yard and Schulenburg are the same.

Some of the people in the youtube comments are such edgelords.
"OMG we can't play as Clem, Telltale can go FUCK THEMSELVES i'm never buyi… moreng this game!!" (even though you kinda can play as her)
"Who the fuck is this guy?? I hate him. He's so boring and not as cool as Clem!" (Yup because we all totally know this character already)
"WTF TELLTALE, WHY AREN'T YOU PUTTING KENNY AND JANE IN THIS EPISODE YOU CUNTS1111" (after watching a 1min trailer)
"THIS SEASON IS SO FUCKING SHIT. I'M NEVER BUYING ANOTHER TELLTALE GAME AGAIN"
True that. I may be starting to understand why they said episodes 1 and 2 are a two-parter. There is so much exposition that episode 1 will end at the climax. Episode will pick up and finish that out with the resolution. Like I need to stop watching this and study.
Don't forget that she might not be with either too. My assumption is that the basis for the trailer's "canon" storyline is exactly that, so Telltale doesn't risk showing what capacity those two characters are in the game, in.
Didn't Job say way back that "You could save Clem's finger, and her APPEARANCE and PERSONALITY would be different depending on choices made in season 1 and 2." We took from that the finger is determinate. We neglected the fact that the way she meets and treats Javier MAY be different based on our Clementine.... also her outfit may change too. Could it be Jane dies and Clem is wearing her jacket if you chose Jane ending?
Could the hand in the first pic that says AJ be Jane's?
She is that pale, and those looks like her clothes.
Is obvious that hand is a female hand, who else could love AJ more than Clem?
MY FUCKING FAVOURITE CHARACTER WHOOOOOAAH JESUS IS HERE BITCHES!
I had to watch the trailer several times to process everything... this is just so awsome... now Clem has a little tatoo "AJ" it remides me of Booker DeWitt's AD...
JESUS MOTHERFUCKERS FUCKING JESUS IS HERE!
Edit: on second 57 Javier is carrying someone... is anyone able to see who this person is?
Do you think it is possible that Clem unwillingly worked for the New Frontier but agreed help Javier and others escape for AJ's sake? That may be why Javier starts off handcuffed and ends with hands free.

I'm not saying you should get hyped by a character that you don't know. It definitely sucks if you don't know who he is. But you only need to take a look at comments here, YT, Twitter, etc. to see that there are plenty of people excited to see him. Most people who play TWD are familiar with the universe because of the comics or the show, and by bringing a well liked character from that universe is a surefire way to create some hype among fans while also maybe bring in new ones.

Clem's voice
I fixed him.
He's good to go!
Watches release trailer. Sees familiar face. Hears him say "They call me Jesus." Chokes, gasps, dies of hype heart attack. O.O

Why do ya'll give the YouTube comments any credit for their opinions. Whatever is said there doesn't matter.

Capricorn Farms sounds better than The New Frontier.
It also sounds more confined, "frontier" implies that it's vast and unexplored land.

If TellTale pulls that off, they deserve some award. That would be taking tailored choices to a whole new level.

Someone else told them that before
guess what happened to him
When are we starting the ship Javier x Jesus?
JJ?
Jasus?
Jevier?
I agree. Screw their negativity.
Will he resurrect Lee?
Jaul (pronounced Haul)
You know, because Jesus' name is Paul
No. He only resurrects my heart
Why are all hot men gay?
OMG YESS
I play as Javier, so it would be like I ship myself with Jesus!
that sounded a lot better in my head.
Howdy, Jaul.

Pretty sure Javi is carrying that little girl (his niece?) from the game awards preview.
We don't see her in any of the new screenshots either.
oh shit
the trailer looks good. cant wait
Jesus.
(Pronounced Hesus. Clever, huh?)
