She technically was her own character, but that choice was not in Telltale's control - they wanted Comic Lilly to be a pivotal part of the Season, and it was at Hershel's farm where Lee and Clem met Kenny's family. Even though Hershel himself did not have much screentime, you still had a good amount of time on the barn, as well as meeting his Son beforehand.
Hershel had less than 3 minutes on screen, and his character wasn't important.
Glenn had more time, but to be fair everyone forgot about hi… morem later, he wasn't even important, everything he did was getting stuck in the hotel
Lilly WAS supposed to be, but she didn't end up being so I don't see the point, she was her own character.
After watching the trailer a few more times, I think Im going to bet that the leader of the New Frontier is Nate. Iunno why, but Im just getting some weird feeling it will be him.
I doubt that as they don't seem too keen on reusing older characters (unless your name is Kenny), but I would die happy if we got to spend some more time with that magnificent bastard.

But if you don't read the comics, why would you be bothered by taking a character from it? For you, the character is just in this story and no where else. Originality can involve taking these characters people know so well and showing an unseen side of them (like in the Michonne Mini-series) or another part of them.
Another thing is that the game is still on its own path, and it doesn't tell the story of the comics - it tells a concurrent story that is sometimes intertwined with the comic story but many times is far off the beaten path.
I mean I guess I'm sort of biased, I do read the comics frequently and Jesus is one of my favorite characters though.
Telltale was doing so fine without using comic characters, they were good creating their own, copying and pasting a character from the comic is not original.
If I wanted the comic, I'd read the comic, this is the videogame.
I mean it wouldnt be that far fetched, Clem and Nate have never interacted. It be kinda weird to see how Nate managed to get himself into such a leader role, but if Telltale wants to have a main antagonist over the 5 episodes, who is interesting and not kinda bland like Carver was, Nate is a pretty good antagonist to introduce ( and a little call back for older fans )

It be weird if Nate was the leader of a well-organized group. He doesn't seem like the type to me. I feel like he'd be more of a loner or just a crazy lackey.

And here I was silently hoping that his theory was going to be nothing and all of his theorizing for nothing.
You died for me, InGen.
Not really; you are awesome; please don't ban me.
Telltale's retcon was live in the middle of the Season when the game was more than halfway through completion - it wasn't something canned during pre-production that they had merely just thought on before Episode 1 came out. The Episode 3 achievement where Lilly leaves was named "Woodbury Bound" when Episode 3 had released, and it stayed that way for a while until they patched it a month or two later after Ep 3 came out. Their website during Season 1 even mentioned that it was the same Lilly who would eventually be in the comics when the earlier episodes were released, before references to that were also removed around the middle/end of the Season.

If TellTale does a Banjo-Kazooie game, there goes more more of my life towards TellTale. Wouldn't Banjo-Kazooie really only work with TellTale's old style and format or adventure gameplay?
AJ in Clem's backpack, foreshadowing for a Banjo-Kazooie game by Telltale. You heard it here first
And what will all the "Kenny is Jesus"-people do now?
I could see him being like a lieutenant of a group; he controls a smaller branch of the group in his own crazy, unpredictable way. The people with him are probably doomed to die, but are too scared to say anything to the crazed man ordering them around.

@mostlypoptarts and any of the ANF staff, I have some questions for you all (provided you are allowed to answer them):
What was your favorite part about the trailer?
Whose idea was it to include the clip of Clementine with AJ in her backpack?
Did you guys give said person in regards to number 2 a raise (or at least buy them lunch)?
Besides dialogue, was anything in the trailer determinant (you can just simply say yes or no)?
Was there any episode 2 scenes in the trailer?
Will we see a greater range of emotions from Clementine this season? While we saw small snippets of happiness, pain, and anger last season, she was mostly said and hardened. I understand why, and it made sense for Season 2, especially considering she showed more towards the end of the season. However, I really would like to see more from her. Can I expect at some point for Clem to let her guard down and to open up emotionally sometime before the end of the season?
I didn't pay attention enough. She is from Georgie, so it would be awesome if a little bit of southern dialect came out. Nothing to strong, just a pinch.
Hey guys Ive been a huge fan of this series since the beginning and loved the endings for season two...too. I've put a lot of thought into the whole "what's next?" question for where the plot will take us, and after looking at the concept art here's what I've come up with. Note: These are completely out of thought, so don't hate. If you chose to shoot Kenny in Episode 5 and went with Jane, then Clementine and Jane tried to rebuild Howe's, but was attacked either from inside or outside by "The Family." So Jane may be dead or Howe's is still up and running, with difficulty.-Based off C.A. of Carver's Office. If you chose to look away or do nothing in Episode 5 and went with Kenny, then Clementine and Kenny eventually got into Wellington and tried to assimilate, but was attacked by turned away people, like "The Family."-Based off of C.A. of Wellington Gates and Javier with flashlight and shipping containers. If you chose to go alone, then Clementine and AJ ended up at (S)chul(en)burg airport settlement.-Based off C.A. of airport settlement and Clem and Javier at settlement. Again these are just what I think, let me know what you think, and don't judge what other people think. Peace.

I haven't read the comics, so someone who has a bit more knowledge then me, can anyone tell me, is season 3 going to be based more on the comics? Or is telltale just making a new version of a walking dead game? Seems like it's got a more comic book feel to it then the previous 2 season. Not that it's bad, im just curious.
No, this is a direct continuation of the previous two seasons. It's all in the same canon universe. It is Season 3 takes place years after Season 2 and you play as Clementine and a new character named Javier. More characters from the comics are going to show up and the story takes place closer to the areas in the comics right now, but that's about it. So no, it isn't really a "new version". It is the start of a new season that is a fresh new start with Javier while also being a direct continuation of the previous 2 seasons.

So pretty much everything we did in the first 2 seasons won't really matter and all those endings we had if we saved Kenny or Jane won't matter because they won't be in the season most likely.
The only thing we have then is a new character with his background story and an older Clementine and AJ?

Very much

That would actually be a damn good twist. They did slightly mention that you should play 400 days a while ago....mmmmm
Me, about Capricorn Farm and Rashid and Vanessa.
Really? Was it in a tweet or during the live stream?

I dunno- I kinda like mine better
I miss Nate. I want to kill some people and take their stuff again.
Ugh...Do I have to change it?

True enough, but the fact that Lilly was planed to be a character from the comic doesn't make her part of the comic.

Like Jesus did.
You amuse me...I shall consider it...

Well he was with a small group before Eddie killed one of them who was taking a shit.
Does the Lilly of the comic has the same personality and background than the Lilly of the game?

Am I the only person who thinks Clem has little bit of a southern touch to her accent now than before?
She sounds a lot more like Beauty now.
Might have been during the original reveal.

Maybe its just me, but from the trailer the animations and art style look so much better than the extended look.
I'll be finding out the answer in February.

We don't know how much will our decisions matter, but Wellington and Carver's camp so at least 2 endings appear as flashback
