But wasn't the first two episodes 1 hour and 15 minutes without looking around properly? It's just one hour now??

  • Ok, time to shut down and jump in my shelter.

  • Damn.. At this point, I'm not sure if I should buy it. Do you think I should watch the first episode to see if it's worth it?

    TheMPerson posted: »

I watched it too. Gotta say it only looks cool but it doesn't make sense. Length, Story, graphics? All of the above.

  • Thing is... most people buy the season pass, so Telltale will win in the end even if people get super disappointed with this season. The first time I preorder something and I'm already regretting it... Sigh.

I could understand, that the first two episodes are shorter, since they're a two part introduction. But i will not accept shorter episodes for the Rest of the season. I will not Pay more to get less.

Checking the youtube playthrough times of episode 1, it seems like it's roughly 79 minutes. I assume that is without exploring, but as I've not watched it, I could be wrong.

    Okay, I'm out.

I am not as understanding. They said they were splitting episode 1 because it was too long, but the episode are now only one hour long. Two hours is not too long especially when you consider past telltale episodes have been 1h30m to 2h30m.

I wouldn't be mad if it was 6 episode this season instead of 5, but right now it seems like they decided to get rid of an episode and split up one episode into to make up the difference.

Ok, time to shut down and jump in my shelter.

  • Same. Even though I'm going into the game with low expectations, I don't want to be spoiled. Time to spend the rest of day playing Stardew Valley.

  • I'm not trying to be a dick but a lot of Walking Dead fans here seem really harsh and tend to exaggerate. It's just that so many of you seem so quick to jump to conclusions.

We know the first two episodes are an hour long. They said they split the first episode up because "It was too big" and we know we still only have 5 episodes in total. They cut out an episode because they want too save money on our expense. If episode 1 was actually so big, then why didn't they make the season 6 episode long? What is there to exaggerate about?

  • definitely dont buy it. it became boring to watch after 15 minutes. im guessing playing it would be even worse.

i mean, you can watch it and see yourself.

  • No offense to anyone here but this forums tend to do it a bit especially when a new game is announced

Wait... The first TWO episodes? An hour long? Wait... What?!

  • No each episode is an hour long.

Wait... The first TWO episodes? An hour long? Wait... What?!

  • I meant in general. But sure let's go into that. I'm assuming that Kevin Bruner made a mistake or messed up while explaining it, I doubt he intentionally misled people. And I don't really see the length as that big of an issue. But it's just my opinion.

And Job Stauffer saying this season would considerable larger than previous seasons is also just a simple mistake? Considering that Telltale lets you pre buy the season they have a duty to get their facts straight.

  • I start to think, that Kevin Bruner only said it, to promote the two-part premiere. To make it look like something positiv.

  • I'm seriously contemplating whether to watch the first episode to see if this seasons worth my money or not.

  • Maybe, but Telltale does not have great track record on these thing. Let us not forget that they had a minecraft episode be 45 minutes long.

  • If you're that skeptical I'd recommend reading a review rather than having the game spoiled. Though I like to judge games myself because I find myself to disagree with critics almost always.

I play on Android, so I have the chance to check the first episode on Youtube to see if it worth my money, but I don't know...

  • Well I tend not to care about the length that much. I love some of Telltale's shortest episodes. Plus they don't really disappoint me much. Unlike most I actually loved and preferred season 2.

I've watched both newly released episodes of The New Frontier, and I'm very impressed with the art direction, and especially with the more fluid character animations. Telltale has definitely come a long way with the art design of Season 1, as well as the earlier game projects before the Walking Dead.

But as for the story and characters...I'm struggling to be invested with the newer characters so far, especially since there's still little opportunity to explore and converse with characters we want to talk to, which leaves the new cast little time in the spotlight before their time is up.

The playtime length still being only 60-70 minutes per episode is holding Season 3 back from releasing it's full potential, especially when the first and second episodes could have easily been combined into a single episode for a reasonable 120 minute experience, while allowing for an extra episode to help expand and fit the story of Season 3 into the traditional 5-episode-per-season format.

I was hoping that Season 3 would help introduce a new format to make up for the shorter run-time, but so far it's showing the same problems that I felt it had when watching the Michonne Mini-Series: the run-time in each episodes don't allow for enough time for me to care about the new characters and what is happening around them.

When you say it doesn't make sense, do you mean that there are a lot of questions in the air that maybe can be explained in future episodes? Or is it more like, the story is not interesting and is all over the place?

What I meant to say/type out is that it doesn't make logical sense when something happens and you question it later on (I really wish I could spoil it but I'll restrain myself). It's sort of like; how can this happen if [that person] didn't have [that] to begin with sort-of logic.

Like in superhero movies; looks cool but it doesn't make sense.

Thread: Angry and Confused No spoilers please.

Why is it that ps4 and xbox players get to play the new TWD game way before PC players?

Then the ps4 players and the xbox players get to sit there and make fake threads to post spoilers of the game in there to ruin it for other people. or use fake click bait on youtube and put spoiler videos up.

Please in the future. Release your games on all platforms at the same time.

This is unacceptable period. I am fine waiting till the 20th to play. But make EVERYONE wait to the 20th so they dont blow it for the fun of it to other people who want to just discuss the possibilities and theories of what is to happen or discuss past games. Instead we get these morons coming into said forums and telling what happens.

  • Totally.

    You're really unstable aren't you?

  • Eh I hate not being able to choose for myself and ill likely like this season anyway
