I don't know of a way in which Jane could have aborted. Somebody mentioned earlier that she could've used a clothes hanger, but I am blind a… mores to how that works.
Yes, her model was bad, and yes, it was cringe-worthy, but I do not believe that her suicide is out of character nor bad writing.
Don't you think it is a possibility that Jane was reckless on that opportunity, gave in to her impulses, and had sex? She was under stress a… morend doubt after having robbed an innocent teenager while under survivor's auto-pilot, and, considering that she is a human, she slipped up.
That might be part of why she left in the first place.
Jane's suicide is makes sense for her character.
It would've been highly dangerous for Clementine to take care of a weak woman, a toddler… more and a baby, all at once, especially with little resources and no medical expertise; Jane knew that. Perhaps she believed that she had taught Clem all she could, and so the last purpose of her existence had been fulfilled. There was no motive to continue to live under the torture of flashbacks of Jamie's death and wait to undergo labor and worsen the life of Clementine. And, even though Clem was important to her, she was planning to leave in "Amid The Ruins" without saying a heartbreaking goodbye; this was the same.
What ruined the outcome of Jane's ending was not the acting of her character, but the short length of the segment that makes it abrupt and lackluster, and the terrible models that highlight the idea that it's not meant to be taken seriously.
Remember when Jane used to say things like "You can't save her", "She's alive, but not safe", "It's her choice", "Sometimes, you just need t… moreo let people go", "Some people just want to give up"... In the end, all those words ended up being about her. And that's it.
Now I can understand her choice. Probably.
And I just have to say one more thing.
Pregnant with Luke's baby? Gosh, what I was thinking? I never noticed Luke and her were actually "knowing each other" in episode 4 lmao I always believed that they're just making out, yk? "Kissing stuff". I'd never considered the possibility that they made "everything", if you know what I mean.
Well... That's just sad.
I highly doubt that any amount of stress would've made Jane risk being impregnated, especially since the group she was with at the time were all freaking out about a baby.
Oh you're absolutely right. Jane got pregnant because she had sex with Luke. I'm just saying this is completely out of character and a blatant lazy retcon.
Just because it's canon now doesn't mean it's not poorly written.
There's no way that she could've become pregnant without having been reckless at the time she had sex with Luke, though.
That's what I am accepting as canon until new perspectives appear.
I don't know. But considering that Clem had a gun at the end of the second season and it doesn't seem like much time has passed i would figure that she'd still have the gun.

Jane did not have a gun by the end of Season Two, or otherwise she would have been able to use it against Kenny. Then again, the armory of Howe's Hardware did have plenty of guns, but the crew shooting the walkers with Tavia had a good number of them and they might have left, and the family could have taken the remaining firearms as well.

I meant Clementine. Unless the game outright says that Clem didn't have a gun anymore, i just assume that she still had it. Jane could have asked to borrow it under a false need for it.

Jane is carrying a gun in her ending.
Maybe the gun just evaporated between season 2 and 3. Would've made just about as much sense as anything else in her flashback.
well it was on month after they took over house right? Isnt there like pills that do it or something? should of of probably found them there. Unless the family took the pills
What I want to know is, after one month of taking over house how did Clem suddenly turn 14 years old in the flashback? wouldn't she still be 11 years old or maybe 12?

Okay, this is something that makes what she does to Sarah even more abomidable: her model clearly has a gun holster with a gun in it. I don't know about Season 3, but it was there in Season 2.

You know, I think a combined effort from the fans could've come up with a compelling and captivating story that would be fair among all the characters! I mean, we might all like/dislike different characters and have opposing views but that collaboration would just make the game all the more even, rather than one-sided towards certain characters/paths/decisions! I mean, I think we'd all think of the fans considering we are fans ourselves and we pretty much agree that the way TTG handles their characters is awful but that's just my opinion, not trying to say that we'd be better than the writers themselves but, opinions, opinions.
Aye, that would be. I've seen many a story via film, book or audio and believe I could be capable.
But then again, this is the Walking Dea… mored. Expectations will be high and I fear I won't be capable of meeting them. I fear I won't give characters enough time, or making them last a long time (nothing wrong with that mind you).
All I am is a starry-eyed dreamer. Partially afraid, I won't make the cut and if I do, I will be run dry in a few years. I like to believe that not be the case.
To be fair, I was thinking about doing my own Season 3 for fun. But upon learning this bucket of ice water in face discovery, I'm leaning towards it.
But I want the story I tell to be something more than usual fanfic dribble, I want it to be in the vein of Into The Fray.
I'm thinking about it, but I am still a fan of this game, and to drop the entire series because of this one event, what does that say of me? Have I become....fickle?
Frosty5, BetterToSleep, and others who honor my words, I ask for your input and advice.

Absolutely nothing. The only thing letting them in or not affects is one line of dialogue from Jane.
She either says "that asshole family stole half our food and ran", or "that asshole family broke in and stole half our food".
Yeah I liked how Carley/Doug got their own development and lasted 3 episodes, each having a different interacion at the Lilly shooting them scene, where Carley gets shot on purpose and Doug non intenionally.
THAT WAS GOOD WRITING.
This is straight up bullshit.
TellTale is going the Mass Effect 3 road, when they were like "Oh cmon its the 3rd game fans will buy it no matter what, dont even work on it, we'll get our money anyway" (see the endings and so many plotholes)
Now TTG is doing the same with Clementine, knowin people would pre-order if she's in the game, even though her story arc ended in Season 2, they just put her in the game while we don't even get to play as her, just because pre-orderers can't get back their money anyway.
EDIT: Even though I hated Jane really much as a person, I still feel bad for her "Omid situation" too. Neither she nor Kenny deserved these shitty deaths. So let's unite and let TTG know that we hate how they deal with determinant characters now.
I wouldn't say that, exactly. I mean, look, they dropped the ball to some extent with this season so far, but I know for a fact that they're still capable of making some good stuff.
For all intents and purposes, Batman was pretty great. Tales From The Borderlands was great. And even despite some of the mixed reception, the Michonne miniseries wasn't that shabby, either. They clearly have a good team of people working on their games, and they are still capable of pulling off some great stuff.
Unfortunately, S3 seems to have hit a rough patch. Like, compare these opening episodes to the finale of Batman. In terms of production quality, it seems like more effort was put into the Batman finale, as much as I hate to say that. Ties That Bind isn't bad, and the production values in some areas are actually pretty stellar, but in other areas... it feels like they cut corners. For example, all the reused tracks. The first two episodes have about 10 new tracks in total. The rest of the music is all reused from the first two seasons. It's not a super huge element, but the fact S3 has little in the way of its own unique soundtracks says to me personally, that not all of their efforts were focused in the right place.

I thought she was stronger than that...
Guess I was wrong.
eh. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
i'm not considering anything in that flashback as canon though. lol <.<
I can see your reasoning, but honestly, even though I liked Jane, I've always pictured her to perform her own abortion rather than killing herself.
If she was going to commit suicide, she should have at least shot herself as to not turn.
Jane did say "there was no time for kissing."
Perhaps...but explaining that to Clementine. Whoa, moral boundaries.
There's no way that she could've become pregnant without having been reckless at the time she had sex with Luke, though.
That's what I am accepting as canon until new perspectives appear.
Haha, yeah that'd be awkward. Hopefully she covers her trail well enough that Clementine would never have to know.
She was as fragile as every one of us.
Really? Okay. I didn't remember very well, but thanks anyway.
How could she have aborted? I don't know anything about it.
Did we see a gun?

Bow chicka wow wow...
I don't know. But considering that Clem had a gun at the end of the second season and it doesn't seem like much time has passed i would figure that she'd still have the gun.
I straight up don't know, but there are ways. There's people out there who perform abortions by themselves at home.

Jane might not know about that.
I am done with the faces on the reaction GIFs on the thread.

Sorry. I was going to go with John Candy's "Ok. I see".
This Bruce Willis one, was a poor choice on my part.
Or the gun was stolen by Randy during the theft?
I apologize, I didn't mean the overuse reaction gifs.

they probably just reused the model in kenny's flashback because they were too lazy to make her look younger.
I think telltale is getting to big and turning into a turd. like so many other companies have.
Also, Luke and Mike specifically mention it was 10 minutes.

So Telltale wasted money and recourses on making characters and voice actors wonderful

The Howe family's models were already bad in season 2, I wonder how horrible they'd be looking like in S3.
Drink a lot of booze = abortion
A holster cannot kill walkers without a gun inside it.
