Original Title: So what was with the weird Kenny, Jane, & Edith models
So if you have play EP 1 of S3 you know that Kenny, Jane, & Edith all die. And i was wondering why did they all look so Fucking weird. We had a legend like kenny who just looked like plastic. Jane & edith both looked weird i dont know if they were too lazy to make them look good or its their new Engine your thoughts

Honestly, it kinda seemed like they were too lazy to actually make them look good because the flashbacks were only like five minutes each, but idk.
You know that meme where an employee proposes something good and they just throw him out of the window.
I think it went like "Well you know what Job, I'm sick of these old characters. Draw them over or some shit, don't put much effort into them cuz they gon die. Yeah. Why waste resources, let's just GET. RID. OF. THEM."
Honestly, looking back at it, Kenny's model isn't that bad. The only problem is the beard.
Honestly, the hair/beards in S3 just look bad. They added physics to the hair and all that, but the hair sticks out like a sore thumb against the rest of the model. And given that S2 Kenny is about 70% beard, that means he looks about 70% shit in S3.
Kenny's beard literally looks like he just glued a bunch of cardboard onto his face or something. It doesn't look natural.
I almost think it would have been better if they kept the flashbacks in the S2 art style, saved the new look for everything happening in the present. There's be some stylistic whiplash if they did that, sure, but I think it would have been thematically clever, and a good way to emphasize that they're flashbacks. But that's the artsy side of me talking.
Since when did Edith have a southern accent? I don't remember that.
Although people basically knew these characters would appear somehow, I edited the title to remove the specific spoilers just to play it safe.

Meanwhile, looks like Jane took a trip back through the uncanny valley because she looks barely more uncanny than she did before. Also, I love how her head looks like it doesn’t belong on her body.
Edith is easily the best looking, which also makes her look worse than Jane due to the Uncanny Valley hitting her somethin fierce.
And Baby AJ is clearly a bad render of his Season 2 model with new eyes implanted.

Kenny looks like a melting action figure and Jane looks even more like something out of Planet of the Apes than she did before.
I love how Edith looks simultaneously better and worse somehow.
The only problem with Kenny is his beard, if you look at his proportions, his nose, scars, etc everything is the same.
The problem with Jane is that she looks fat, and they didn't bother with her hair.
But that can be explained with "Hair grows" ohhh, hair grows! I didn't know that!
And with the fact she is pregnant, so her body is starting to get fat.
I don't know you, but Edith looks the same for me, they only took the light illumination from S2.

Not for me she didn't. Infact looking at the picture you posted, she could pass for a different character altogether. Jane is the only one that actually looks like a graphical upgrade despite not looking that much like she did in s2.
Yeah, proportions are the same but everything else is shit. The texture in particular is worth an asswhuppin and ya gotta love that eyepatch.
Oh, is that it? And I love how 5% of that 69 lbs went to her face. Goddamn, when they said it'll go straight to your thighs, they fucking meant it!

Hair in this game looks horrible, because the hair doesn't cast shadows upon itself which is why it looks so out of place. They could've fixed Kenny's model by editing his face texture so his beard doesn't look weird-looking.

Dude, she had booty(or at the very least curves) before. This would be an upgrade if her upper body wasn't so enlongated/thick and her face wasn't screwed over. It's like they said"hey, this chicks bod is too much of a "redeeming" quality--let's fuck it up!" Because women are entirely defined by their body.

I watched the Kenny endings and it's vaguely there but not to the extent S3 makes it out to be, it's very strange.

Yeah Kenny looked like he had aged 50 years and had so many lines on his face and looked a bit greasy and janes face always looked like she had a cold and edith had a nose job.
Yet random NPCs that appear for less than that look better :x

Just like that movie The Visit! Where these psychos trick Clem to thinking they're the real Kenny and Jane, but they both die and the real ones will show up in Episode 3 and live happily ever after with Clementine!

Hair and facial hair really got worse in this season. Kenny's hair and beard looks rubber, Jane looks like she has a bunch of feathers on her head, and Edith looks like she has some weird cap on...
Edith has a Minnesotan accent. Like Canadian almost, don'tcha know?
Jane/Kenny/Edith all look fucking ridiculous. Strange too, because Clem's model in the flashbacks looks really good to me.

Jane didn't deserve the ending she got. And why the hell didn't they just fuse the ending Wellington & Kenny ending? They pretty much had Clementine incidentally kill Kenny. I mean it was obvious they were lazy about these flashbacks, so they could have just made Kenny die there at Wellington instead of a random ass car accident. And again, Jane did NOT deserve an ending like that.

That's probably because it appears to be her 13 year-old head either attached to a smaller body or they simply dressed her up to make her look younger.
