  • Jane looked terrible, but I thought Kenny looked pretty good. But yeah, the way they went out was really lazy. They easily could have found a way to either keep them alive, but not involved with the current events of the game, or kill them off much, much later.

  • I noticed that they are reusing music from previous seasons... mostly from S2.

  • Disagree. Despite how terrible the endings were handled, the rest of the episodes were great all around.

    Season 1 > Season 2 > Season 3 (which still has 3 episodes left I might add) > Michonne

  • The return of past characters would ruin whatever hope the season has.

There is no hope for Season 3. Unless they bring Molly back. Or Lilly.

  • I'm just laughing at everyone overreacting. How did nobody so this coming? When you prevent a character from dying in a Walking Dead game they are just going to die later on.

Yes I know Kenny was a favorite for many but his and Jane's deaths were not terribly done. They were still emotional (while short).

  • We known they were gonna die. But it was essentially an even lazier determinant character death then Zachary from michonne.
    It was like this:
    Jane/Kenny pop up.
    Say 10 Lines.
Telltale : "ok good enough now kill em"

Does anyone else miss those good indie folk songs in the credits (I fell in love with the song in the water by anadel from s2 ep1) and also the 'next time on/previously on'... the things we take for granted lol

Kenny died too fast? Didn't like the way it happened?

You're not satisfied with the look of his beard?

    Not enough emotions?

    OMID'S CAT WILL HELP YOU.

(Remember, Clem must be alone to meet Javi in s3.)

Ok. Go back to the end of s2 episode 5. To the scene when your hero's trying to stab Jane. Shoot Kenny. He'll die.
That scene is long enough, emotional and Ken's beard is an art. See, you're getting what you want!
What? You don't like Jane? Then let her die and later shoot Kenny.
But you really want spare his life? Then go to Wellington and stay in - emotional scene; goodbye with georgeous beard.

Fixed. No Kenny in season 3, no problem.

  • i'd rather play a game where we actually do go looking to rescue Omid's and Christa' s cat than this! xD

  • Agreed.

Wow. Jane looks awful. I already saw the three flashback options and the one with Kenny was "the best".

  • Why would she do that and let herself turn into a walker after what happened to her sister

After what she thinks happened to her sister...

At least then, he would've died a heroic way.

Technically, this still is. He refused to let Clementine worrying about him get herself or AJ killed and used himself as a distraction while they run away.

It's not that. It's that the way they died was poorly done. Jane hanging herself makes no sense. Why would she do that and let herself turn

  • Graphics were awful, too. Jane and Kenny were so ugly.

I think the graphics of the game looked pretty beautiful. I kept noticing how lovely everything looked during the cut scenes & gameplay. But... I do have to agree that Kenny and Jane didn't look that great. They looked pretty hideous.

is it possible that Tattletale decided to go with Sean's rough draft for S2 for S3Ep2, the draft where Kenny's supposed to be the big baddie of some big group but instead they went with Javi's brother?

yep, because chances are, they don't really care what's done with them in the narrative.

I expressed my frustrations in a different thread, but on a seperate note, what on earth is wrong with Kenny and Janes faces? They look horrible, their body models included, it doesn't look at all like they did beforehand. And isn't Kenny middle aged? Despite his weariness, he did show some strength and youthfulness. Why on earth did they change his appearance so dramatically?

I was interested in seeing how Kenny and Jane fight and survive, we didn't see them do a huge amount due to the briefness of the episodes. I was interested in seeing Kenny conflict with new groups, he had grown to be a rather intimidating and strong survivor, so it came off as especially strange that he would somehow, just this one time, forget to wear a seatbelt, not to mention they wrote him as an idiot in regards to how he was teaching Clementine, that felt like a body double. I genuinely wanted to see if he was capable and intelligent in survival and conflict situations. And I wanted to see Jane use some Guerrilla tactics, and perhaps learn more of her backstory (along with all the other underdeveloped characters).

And with Jane, Telltale ironically supported the dislike for her by parts of the fandom, and frustrated others by writing her out of the character they thought she was. (I personally liked them both and thought the conflict and fights were very contrived on the part of the season two writers, especially the bizarre dislike of Kenny when he didn't do anything that I felt should alarm these survivors who supposedly have gotten through two years of the apocalypse without becoming desensitised, it comes off as ridiculous, like a day one story). Wellington made no sense either for already explained reasons.

Everyone from the last two seasons is dead or gone, none of the storylines matter, everything is hopeless, blah, blah, blah, not very engaging storytelling. Retconning everything with a new cast of characters doesn't help Telltale.

Ok here is my entire piece:

Kenny is my all time favorite character in TWD, hell in any video game. More than Clementine, more than Lee. We spent roughly 20 hours with him. Some of us, including me went out of our way to defend and stick by him through hell and high water. I stayed with him at the end of Season 2 and had a happy ending. Let's jump 2 and a half years, shall we? We get 3 minutes of happy dialogue, and then just like that, Kenny is ripped away from us in one of the most stupid ways possible!

Could they not have just gone with the extremely easy idea of keeping Kenny/Jane alive with AJ off screen and having Clementine reunite with them at the end of the season? Like FUCKING HELL! For the writers of some of my favorite all time games, Telltale really has become lazy and quite dumb. (excuse the childish wording, I really can't think of any better words.) Some people, myself included, hold TWD and it's characters near and dear to our hearts. And what does Telltale do? RIP THEM AWAY LIKE THEY'RE NOTHING! I have a Kenny poster on my Christmas list, and it's the thing I'm looking forward to most. Hell Gavin even offered to sign it for me! Kenny has been held close to my heart for a long LONG time! He's a legend when it comes to TWD. Love or hate him, he's one of the most iconic TWD characters there is, yet he gets launched out a fucking car and we can't do anything about it! Yes I understand this is Walking Dead, yes I understand anything can happen, yes I'm happy he went out saving Clem & AJ, but for fuck's sake what was even the point of Season 2?! We spent all that time building and had a really sad or a really happy ending and then it's yanked away as soon as we get back into the story!!!! Telltale...FUCK....YOU! You had an enormous amount of time to tailor the story to please your audience. You could have used this to make a determinant choice matter for once but nope! LAZY! Nothing against Javier but honestly, nobody asked for him! Everyone wanted to have a continuation of 205! We wanted to see what happened to Clementine, and her journey with Kenny/Jane/by herself. The whole catering to new players is bullshit as well. If people want to get into the series, they can play the first two and I'm sure they'll have a damn good time doing so because they are both great games and a moving experience. This better turn out to be a dream flashback and you better rectify your wrongs Telltale. I know it's a slim chance, but it's not too late to keep Kenny/Jane alive. As far as I'm concerned, I went into this game excited as all hell, and I came out of it upset and angry. I honestly don't think the series can pick up in my perspective. Sure the story could become interesting, but with Kenny gone there's no upside to the story for me and I'm sure a whole lot of others.

  • And with Jane, Telltale ironically supported the dislike for her by parts of the fandom, and frustrated others by writing her out of the character they thought she was.

Yeah, pretty much. And you know, I remember saying "I'm sure they gonn' try and pull something outta their ass to "redeem" her character," and...that really didn't do a good job. In fact, it's barely worth an Alas, Poor Scrappy.

Everyone from the last two seasons is dead or gone

    Except Clementine.

I obviously know about Clementine, but for the sake of dramatisation I didn't mention her :P
That being said, she feels like a completely different character from both her original depiction (even if you consider maturing), and the way players role played her in season 2.

It still doesn't make any sense that they turned a player character into a defined npc to be frank.

To be fair, other series does that from time to time and Clementine started out as an NPC, so she's sorta back to her roots.
