  • I just hope they don't make an episode so big they have to split it into two again.

  • This is all just making me think how the hell are they gonna accomplish that whilst sticking to the current story in THREE episodes at their current length. God damn it, there should have been more, or longer episodes. It'll be gone as quick as it got here :(

  • On a serious note though, I did really enjoy the first two episodes but I just have a problem with having all these new characters shoved down my throat while all the old favourites are killed off so easily.

There are still a few old characters that "left" but who are still alive as far as we know, like Bonnie, Mike, Christa (long shot I know :D). Would like to see one of them make an appearance......

  • I have high hopes for this season as well, and I love that Telltale is communicating with us.

For example, we won't specifically call out if Clem specifically watched Carver die, but that experience will 100% effect how Clem reacts to situations over the course of the series.

Oooh, I wonder what situations are going to be determinant on whether or not Clem watched Carver get his head bashed in...?
Perhaps if Clem chose to watch, in S3 she'll bash in someone's head as well?

  • They actually confirmed on a "behind the scenes" video, on their Twitter, that it's right after All Out War. It's probably during the 2 year time skip.

I wonder if this game is going to have some significant time skip. Job stated that it was taking place when the issues that were coming out

  • I am thinking ep 3 will probably be out first few weeks of February and I have enjoyed the first two eps and yeah I get why people are mad about the whole Kenny and Jane situation but I had a feeling Telltale would do something like that anyway and I think its easier to kill them off now than making there characters die in like ep 4 or 5 , its just easier for them to rip it off like a bandage than take a whole season to do it. and the lengths of the episode were ok ep 1 took me about 1 hour and 45 minutes just because I pretty much did everything from looking at everything to talking to everyone and ep 2 took about a hour but I wasn't surprised because most second episodes are short in a Telltale game form season 2 of TWD to episode 2 of TWAU. overall hyped for the rest of the season and I think the games pretty cool! :D

  • But that is just completely off. All Out War is about 2 to 2 1/2 years in, and the timeskip ends around the time the game takes place. Maybe that is what they meant? I generally noticed that the timeline seems to be a bit off. Clementine is 13 in "A New Frontier", but it's apparently late summer/early autmn (you hear crickets and it's generally looking like it's hot), whereas in Season 1 she was already complaining about the cold outside the manor - a few days after her 9th birthday. In Season 1, the weather and trees also looked much further into autmn from Episode 2 onwards - again, Clementine's 9th birthday is only a few days before Episode 3.

  • After the initial disappointment, I'm now looking forward to the game a bit more again. I'm never going to let Telltale live down Kenny and Jane, but at least the rest of the story is shaping up to be decently interesting. I like most characters, and the voice acting is really top notch, especially Javier. The graphics are great too, not even necessarily just for a Telltale game. The backgrounds and lighting are absolutely beautiful, and most character models are pretty well done as well (with some exceptions, not counting Kenny and Jane). Also, after replaying with the opposite choices, I found that the experience actually did feel a bit more different than I initially thought. The beginning of Episode 2, for example, has some good determinant scenes. While this is definitely not Telltale's magnum opus, and I know they can do better (The Walking Dead: Season 1, Tales from the Borderlands, Batman, even if you only look at the first two episodes of those), I might have had too high expectations. I'm hyped again, though not nearly as badly as before. Maybe that's actually a good thing.

  • All the women and men this season are really good looking

Especially, Clem. She looks like someone in a Loreal makeup commercial.

  • I really love Javier awesome character much better than clementine in my opinion and his voice actor is just phenomenal , I also love how he takes out zombies like a baseball player really unique touch to his character. I also really like his family for the most part Kate Is pretty chill and I kissed her so hopefully ill be able to tap that ass, and if not their's still Eleanor. Tripp is kind of a dick but you can see he cares he reminds me of Kenny, David not really sure about yet he's definitely gonna be pissed when I figured out I kissed his wife cant wait to how that goes X D. Clementine was starting to get on my nerves but she wasn't all bad hopefully she will get better in episode 3. For the most part I really like gabe and am interested in seeing how his character will develop this season. I really dont understand how people keep comparing him to ben, ben was pretty much a coward gabe on the other hand hasn't displayed any of his behaviors as a matter fact he seems more like carl or nick Im also looking forward to the little romance between gabe and clementine if they do make it happen maybe she wont be so boring anymore to me.

    Anybody wanna start theory crafting?

    It's obvious that AJ is in Richmond, with ANF. I'm assuming that;

    1. A New Frontier used AJ to force Clem to join, but after that refused to give him back to her.
    2. Clem escaped from their base (possibly with the help of Ava) but couldn't take AJ with her.
    3. Now Clem is searching for a car, and plotting her revenge and rescue of AJ.

    All I have so far....¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • I'm hoping that the rest of The New Frontier episodes are longer than the Ties that Bind Parts One and Two.

  • Are yall discussing the release date on episode 3 for google play? I have been searching to see if there was one.

Don't worry, you can post here. My post just meant that another mod is welcome to repost this under their account since I already got the Ep 1/2 thread.

  • Or not at all

I think it's a bug. All the character models have this weird issue where their mouths move randomly.

  • I hope that too, The Walking Dead is My Favourite Game!

  • Not actually relevant to your message, but the first time I heard "badger" in the game a certain song started playing in my head... can't help it.

The way I see the series of events right now is this:

    1. Clem and AJ leave the New Frontier because of reasons that will be explained.
    2. Clementine actually meets a genuinely nice person/people/group on her way out.

(I've been thinking that maybe point 1 and 2 could be merged. Maybe Clementine is asked to hunt down a certain person or group of survivors. However, seeing the group being defenceless and becoming irritated with the New Frontier's way of doing things she decides to join them. If you play as an empathetic Clem, she decides to leave because she doesn't want to do things the Frontier's way anymore. If you play as a survivalist Clem who actually doesn't really mind the things they do, she abandons them because they rely on her too much to accomplish things.)

    1. The group make their way to Richmond, which is occupied by a group that vehemently opposes the New Frontier. Think back to Jesus: "Which side are you on?" There's clearly an ongoing conflict between the New Frontier and other forces. Her arrival at Richmond also explains how she knows so much about it "They have walls and maybe even a hospital."
    2. Clementine, noticing Richmond's hatred of the New Frontier, becomes worried that her status as an Ex-Frontier+Branding will jeopardise her and AJ's chances in the settlement. If someone finds her with the brand, she knows it's over. Knowing how much she struggles on her own with AJ, Clementine fears that she won't be able to keep them both alive. She trusts AJ in the hands of the people she entered with and forces herself into exile outside the city to keep AJ regularly fed and safe.
    3. Alone, Clementine travels to Prescott and spends a while there. Because of her time with the New Frontier and her forced separation from AJ, she becomes very bitter towards the community there. I mean, isn't it weird that Clementine says she doesn't like the people in Prescott and yet basically everyone in Prescott (save Eli, who Tripp acknowledges as a shit) is good? It's not because the people there were bad, it's because Clementine has just become so numb and untrusting to people around her. Noticing this herself and how much she pushes her luck there, she decides to try and strike out on her own once more.
    4. After spending an X amount of time in isolation, she decides to head back to Richmond to check on AJ, trying to find a vehicle to reach the settlement once more. Enter the events of ANF.

I'm trying to find some more evidence or snippets of info hidden in the episodes, so if anyone has anything else on this that'd be great.

  • That sounds perfectly sound but what if the reason why she left was because of Ava? I'm thinking that maybe Ava betrayed her or something and took AJ from her.

  • I personally think that Francine's death destroyed whatever little sanity and humanity Conrad had left and nothing that Javi could say could make up for that.

  • Actually I thought of something similiar and Ava is Clem's villain as David is Javier's.

    Here's hoping I'm wrong.

While I'm thinking Ava's a guaranteed catalyst in Clementine's story, why would she take AJ to Richmond? And how would Clementine know this? Wouldn't that also mean that Ava is a traitor to the New Frontier as well and therefore shouldn't be anywhere near Richmond after the New Frontier attacked?

  • Just seen Jane's flashback scene, my reaction was a little bit like this.....
My reaction to Jane's "last" scene

  • I'm just guessing here but I think Clementine was actually hunting down New Frontier members when she met Javi for the first time and what she was trying to do was to find out information about AJ and where he is but like she said to Javi, she misjudged the fall of the tree and depending on what the player does the New Frontier dude either dies or runs away.

  • In which case, why did she say she needed the truck? Was she lying there?

And if those where her main intentions, why didn't she question Javier about The New Frontier? Or even check him for the brand? He was wearing long sleeved clothing, he could have easily had the mark on him yet she didn't question or check him.

  • Hoping for this one. Graphics are blurred on iOS.

Can we at least give Telltale props for using such a varied and unique cast for this season. I was checking the IMDB, and a lot of these actors have hardly been in any games and just a few TV shows, also Gabe and Mariana are voiced by actual kids! That's so neat!
