most disappointing sequel to anything ever

  • That's exactly what I'm saying. She has been the focal point since lee stumbled upon her and has been ever since. And now we are someone completely new and are told that it's their story and not Clem's anymore. It's bullshit. Clem's story has just begun and I was so excited to continue her story but this is what we got instead. I didn't have a problem with a new protagonist but Javier is so boring and we were told we were gonna get to play as both and we have but only for like 10 minutes in flashbacks! It is so insulting to fans of the series. I'm just frustrated because I've been playing this series since day one and we just get pushed to the side because telltale wants to bring in a new audience all while tossing their loyal fan base to the side.

Yes, and the situation is being compared to the show and comic suddenly saying "Ricks had his time. Here's completely new characters." Ri

  • I do have to say, to this point I dislike Season 3 very much. The whole "for new players it's a good entry point" is making it for hardcore Clem fans (ME) totally impossible to like it. You changed Clems personality without giving me the oportunity to influence it, you gave me a stereotype new main character with little to no character of it's own (seen it all before: Brother hates me, is cruel to his family, his wife falls in love with the better brother, brother disapears and returns in a deus ex way). I can almost see the whole base storyline what will follow and only Clem is the part I can't put in yet.

  • You can't just cherry pick fans. These forums are the hardcore fans who will point out even the smallest mistake no matter how bullshit it might be to complain.

  • i dont take critics into account because we all know how they write reviews ($$$)

So you're one of those kinds of people huh? smh

  • I feel you. That comment summs up how I feel as a tWD fan who played season 1 and 2 multiple times.

Season 2 was amazing compared to this steaming pile of shit. Javier is boring and I hate he's the protagonist. Clementine doesn't seem to be

  • To be fair, a bunch of the Season 1 writers left, and I don't think anyone wanted the Season 2 writers back.

cant believe im saying this, but i want season 2 writers back lol

its probably cuz they changed writers for the 1000th time. To be fair, a bunch of the Season 1 writers left, and I don't think anyone wanted the Season 2 writers back.

  • I can say one good thing about them...they would've given you your precious rewind feature.

  • Telltale is doing just fine with this game.

  • The majority of the fans on here are Clementine fans, so that's why there's a lot of complaints. Telltale said that we would play as both Clementine and Javier, it was the fans who thought it meant half and half, we have played as Clementine, in flashbacks, but that's not good enough to them. Think about it, She was the centre of a lot of attention in season 1, was the player character in season 2, and now she's pushed aside to a minor character and she's done some stupid shit so of they will complain without giving the new story a chance. Just don't say anything negative about her, i've heard that it's a criminal offence to say anything that's not positive about her (- ;

It has a 9/10 (over 1000 fan reviews) on Steam, 4 and a half stars on the Xbox store, 5 stars on the PlayStation store, etc. It's literally just the fans on these forums that are bitching about the game. The fans clearly love it.

  • i cant believe ppl are still complaining about javier. he actually turned up to be the best thing about the game. its everything else i have problems with.

  • Ill agree with you about youtube (as by the amount of dislikes the video has of siding with conrad) but there are a lot of fanboys for Clementine and Kenny on here, Go look at my thread about the conrad decision Youll see a lot of clementine fans on there.

  • Eh remember we were complaining for months that we hated to play a kid but that hardly matters now because Telltale wanted to split the gameplay between Javier and Clem and somehow thought it was a great idea to give her hardly any gameplay

  • Standalone it's okay but a sequel it's a freaking shame!

  • The more that I think about it, New Frontier came out too soon. S2 just happened two years ago. Why not release a season 2 of Wolf among us or Game of Thrones ? Let's not forget that Michonne was a very recent TT release also.

The more that I read about New Frontier, the less that I like. I can see why it's not a season 3, mainly because it has little to do with the first two seasons. It seems that this is a stand alone game that is a what if story.

The reason why I have to read about the game is due to TT announcing the game for last gen during E3 and then dropping the ball. I originally was mad as I only have a 360. Now I'm happy as this site has saved me $20 for when I get a One.

  • This game is competing with harry potter and the cursed child for worst continuation of a decent series

Why bother arguing? This forum is rife with people were want to yell and complain about how horrific everything is, without taking the time to look at certain aspects, or the attempt S3 is making and paving ahead. And because their choices didn't mean as much as they had hoped, things turned out badly.

Everyone was taken away by choices like Carley or Doug, or saving Ben or giving food out, or who helped you save Clementine.

We'll never get that level of depth again, and haven't since.

As a result? No one will be happy. End of story.

Personally I greatly enjoyed S3. But that's cause I know the limitations, and what they're attempting, and didn't get my hopes up. This is Telltale people.

Telltale, the archaic and battered, formulatic, gameplay-lacking, laggy framerate having, bad decision thrusting, horrible at choice-acknowledging, sometimes very shit writing, Telltale.

It's about time we realize Season 1 was a fluke.

  • Oh good lord. Because it's not all about Clementine, it doesn't feel like TWD anymore?

  • where did i say that? i actually prefer playing as javier.

  • Just make a one single thread for people who don't like S3. Every 3 minutes or so another thread is coming up talking about the same shit over and over. It's turning into spam now.

  • He is. :)

  • I do like Javier's character, and I don't mind clementine not being our protagonist this time around. But I do have to say that I'm highly disappointed in the length of the episodes. We barely have any time to develop our character, or get to know any other characters. And i am also disappointed in the fact that my clementine is the same as everybody elses clementine regardless of my choices. And don't get me started on how terrible and poorly written kenny and Janes deaths were.... I like the graphic change aside from the flashback models though. The whole catering to new player decision was also a bad idea in my personal opinion. I love this series and held it high above most other telltale series, but after playing the first 2 episodes of the game I have been hyped about for years... Game of thrones has taken my #1 spot, sorry walking dead.

  • Thats the only thing really different.
