Is there a way TT can make a comeback in twds3 ep3/4/5?
Spoilers
I really enjoyed twd s3 till now. But I know many people didn't and I can understand why.
- Less playable Clementine.
- Cheap Death for Kenny/Jane (alone and Wellington flashbacks were actually fine).
- a bit too fast paced.
- short episodes.
Other than this everything else is actually good like the plot, characters and of course the friendship between Clem and Javier.
So TT can just add some additional playable content. Even if some of the content is little fillery but still fun to play (like s1e4) to deal with the problems of-
- Clem not being playable.
- too fast paced plot.
- short episodes.
But to deal with other problems such as cheap Kenny/Jane death they should
- give us some more playable flashbacks. And in those flashbacks we as Clem should learn something important from Keeny/Jane (when they're still alive) or should get to make an important decision that would affect Clem's action at a certain point in the further episode.
- Change Clem's behavior a little bit different as per our choice, so someone who has made decision can actually feel a change in her personality.
- Make some situations that are indirectly related to previous seasons and have Clem react according to our choice in pervious seasons. for example- suppose that you didn't shoot Conrad (but we can still know that he's kinda losing it) so in episode 3/4 he kills someone in a fit of rage. Then there could be a scene where the group decides what to do with him. At that point Clem can make her opinion according to decision made by Lee regarding keeping Lilly/Abondaning Lilly (whatever we chose in season 1)
What do you guys think?

Telltale can redeem the Season if they try/want, but so far I don't like it very much.
I love the season and love playing as Javier as I like having a new story and he's pretty cool too. The only criticism I have is that the episodes are a bit short
I was thinking that Telltale could maybe make another flashback with Kenny and Jane Wellington and all that to try and make up for such a shitty send off to those characters, but then its just a meaningless flashback to the story.
They should first make the episodes longer than just above an hour. First 2 episodes already being a little over an hour is not a good sign.
And seriously, they need to chill with the action. I never played season 1 and 2 for action, I played it for the story, choices, and character development, something season 3 seems to be lacking alot of.
I don't think it needs redeeming. It's fantastic and plenty of others loved it too.
I like this season too but I really want some more flashbacks and a little less fast paced plot.
Even tho I like this game. I Totally agree with you. More flashbacks and less action can marginally improve the game.
Well with 3 episodes left there is plenty of room from improvements and a boosted likeness to the series from disgruntled fans. Honestly all i think they need to do is make clementine more playable and relevant and from what i'm seeing most fans will be satisfied
Seriously? She had the whole second season, People have to let it go and move on. I love playing as Javier, I love this season, relations between characters and cliffhangers. It's fantastic.
Well speak for yourself.
Well If you haven't noticed yet, I'm kinda speaking for myself? Lol.
Me too
Not to mention being a major part of the first. It's ridiculous that people think a major part of the story should be a major part of the story all of a sudden. It almost never happens in seasons of tv shows/movie franchises/video game sequels.
Give me an episode 3 that's 120 minutes long, hubs that have more than just 1 dialogue line per person that I talk to, DIALOGUE CHOICES THAT DON'T TRICK ME, choices that matter, lots of curse words coming from clem's mouth and I'll be just peachy for the rest of the season.

I really don't think the problem is the action. I think the action scenes are great and fun. There is a perfect amount of it. The problem is the episodes are not long enough to fit in some more character development to level everything out, making you think there is too much action. Once the length get's fixed everything will balance great.
All I want is more gameplay with Clementine and make her playable in the present. Then make me give a shit about the people who aren't Javier and Clem. Then make episodes longer. Then I'm good.
I want playable Clem too but as long as they give us ample opportunity to talk/interact with her and make her an important sidekick and not force Javier's family down our throats I'll be cool with her being non playable too. Besides we get to know a new aspect of Clem like-
Javier: What do you call the ones that run?
Clem: They're all fucking walkers alright!!
Now wasn't that hilarious?
Not really speaking for yourself.
Specifically speaking for myself, only because I know there are people who already enjoy the season so far (me as well, to a degree). But, for fixing the problems that I find with the season, yes there definitely is a way. Longer episodes with more hub areas, this is one that's very basic and has been talked about constantly since even season 2 started, Telltale just needs to hit their basics again and slow it down a bit. Allow an even amount of playable time with Javier and Clementine to placate both types of players (those who didn't enjoy playing as Clem, and those who did, Tales did this well with Rhys and Fiona so Telltale has already proved this is doable, now it's time for them to show us). Another big one is to NOT restrict Clementine to flashbacks only, this is probably my biggest gripe with the season so far.
Other than that I think the absolute best way to make this season the most interesting is to not be able to make any choices that affect Clem/Javier while playing as Clem/Javier. Player bias is way too strong in those cases and usually doesn't make for many difficult/thought inducing decisions. Again, this is my opinion on the season so far but I think following these rules would make for an overall more interesting season for everyone.

It IS speaking for myself unless some Clem fans wants to interpret it differently.
All I'm saying is - people should let it go. This ain't The Walking Clem, she's not going to be in the center of each season and I'm glad of that.
Telltale can redeem the Season if they make clem get bitten.
I just dont know if I can care about these new people at all, they'll all likely die and even if they dont they'll just die in whatever season comes next. Thats if they make them more likeable as right now I cant bring myself to care about people making boner jokes and smoking weed.
Even with that the short episodes and weird graphics mean this feels like another game entirely.
Lmao, good one
No, the season is salvageable of course, but I think TTG put out the game they wanted to put out and have no reason to change up at this point. I don't know what the sales numbers are but critical reception is good, so they have no incentive there to change and I think season 3 shows that they don't give two shits what the games hardcore base think.
So we've got 3.5 hours of basically the exact same stuff coming to us.
Good start would be not to kill characters just for the shock value.
This season is def the worst yet... Hope they can pull their collective heads out of theirCollective asses and get a great season going.
Yes needs to be longer dang it. Still want to go punch them in the face for trying to pass Ep 1 off as too long so had to be split into 2.
Why do I think you have a potty mouth irl? LOL...but yes those are good things to want. But are you telling me you did not think David was in danger of Kate leaving him? Or is it that no sane person would tell David that in that fashion.
I'm liking this Season so far, but I certainly think there are areas where they need to improve:
The plot is not insanely interesting so far, but we're still only on the first two episodes, so I'm not counting that as something bad yet. I do feel, however, that this Season will have a good one. Just looking at the episode descriptions, slides, and achievements, I somewhy get that feeling.
EDIT: Another minor thing that incredibly pisses me off is Telltale's refusal to actually making our choices matter, even when they can do it with the slightest of actions. Why do I, someone who turned the family away, still got half my supplies stolen? Why do I have to suffer the same consequences of the people who chose the exact opposite choice than me? It's infuriating, you literally had to not mention the family at all in my flashback to make our choices actually matter, Telltale! It feels so frustrating that you can never be choosing the smart option because you know that you'll always end up with the same negative/positive consequences the other choice opens up. It has me feeling powerless knowing that no matter what I do, I'm never playing this game the smart way because I'll always end up with the same consequences as others.
Isn't it clear that @gd3232 is speaking for their self?
Agreed. Longer episodes are necessary for more gameplay and development.
Only thing I really want is to be able to play Clementine more. Playing her only for three/four minute flashbacks irritates me quite a bit.
Come on, you can't deny there are problems. The pacing is far too fast and with the episodes being really short, we never get any time to get to know the character's better. I still know next to nothing about Trip, Eleanor or Conrad, nor their motivations for even wanting to help the people who're responsible for the destruction of their community, despite being with them for 2 full episodes.
Even if you love the season, you gotta admit character development has been off.

Get rid of Clem, I love her and all but she takes away from Javier and his family. I got my hands on these two episodes and played through them. I felt as if all the choices were agree with Clem or not. For most every choice there was that same dichotomy, it is so shallow. TT hung Clem over the player's head at every turn. I'm sorry but I feel as if it's Clem that is ruining this season; or atleast how TT implemented her into this season. I truly think Clem shouldn't have been involved, I see no purpose for her.
Personally, I think the season could benefit in having more flashbacks of Kenny/Jane, where they're interacting with Clementine and giving advice to her, which could tie in with whatever situation she's facing in the present. It could make up for the shambolic mess that was their death scenes.
Hopefully, Telltale sort out some of the problems, really. It's only two episodes in, so I've not completely given up with the season, but I'd really like if they'd slow down on the pacing, develop Javier's personality and backstory more, give us more time to interact with the characters to learn about them, don't have everyone dead by the end again, and give us tougher choices, which'll leave actual impact. If they can fix all that, I do think we'll have a pretty good season.
I thought character development has been good as well as the pacing. And I've grown attached to almost the whole cast. If you don't like it, fine just don't try to convince me not to like it.
Hey man try to stay optimistic, maybe you'll like them in coming episodes.
I think they look good.
or they could give us more (and longer) flashbacks and more opportunities to talk/interact with her. I think its very great to interact with S3 grown up/mature teen Clem.
