I mean my Javier promised to not cause trouble and then got thrown into the cell with Clem.
He locks you up more as a precaution than anything. He even says that he's locking the two of you up until he can figure out what to do. Seems understandable to me; three people get into a scuffle, one of them ends up dead, and the other two claim it was self-defense. Might as well be safe and temporarily lock them up, just in case.
He then offered to give me a ride in the morning, and I ended up disobeying his authority and sneaking out with Eleanor while also endangering her.
Given how Eleanor basically told him that she wanted to go and help his family, he'd probably hold this one against Eleanor more than he would Javi. And I mean, Javi does have a valid reason for wanting to get out-- to find his family. Can't really fault a guy for that. And that probably factors in to him letting Javier stay in episode 2. The guy found his family, lost someone, and nearly lost another. Least you can do is let him and his family stay, give them time to heal up. Maybe he disobeyed Tripp's orders, but like I said, it's understandable-- he was just a guy that wanted to find his family. And it turned out he was telling the truth. Tripp seems reasonable enough to understand that.
Then I open fired on the hostage situation, got Prescott destroyed
To be fair, even Tripp wanted to open fire on them. Unless he's a hypocrite, it wouldn't make sense for him to hold that against Javi, considering he wanted to do the same. And you can't fully place Prescott's destruction on Javier.
I mean, when you think about it, wouldn't it be Clementine's fault more than Javier's? I mean, she's technically the one that brought him to Prescott to begin with, and if you stayed with your family at the end of episode 1, she practically leads the New Frontier right to your doorstep (she drives up in one of their cars, with the New Frontier in hot pursuit)
and killed his friend
Doesn't Javi only say that Conrad lost it, and that they had to leave him behind? Makes it sound more like the walkers got him, or that he went nuts and ran into the middle of them like Tyreese or something. I could understand Tripp not really questioning it too heavily. There were a lot of walkers down there, it's not unlikely for someone to get nabbed along the way.
As for him trusting Javier... I mean, Javier doesn't really make that many judgement calls. Quite honestly, no one really had a plan for what to do after Prescott fell. Clementine's the one that proposes going to Richmond, and no one else seems to have a better idea, so they all decide to go there because hey, what do they have to lose? If you're in a group, and no one has a clue about what to do, everyone will usually listen to the first guy that speaks up and suggests something. Kinda like the bystander effect; everyone's just waiting around for someone else to say something, and they just go along with whoever finally does something. Most of the time, that guy ended up being Javier.
Or maybe Tripp just has a gut feeling that Javier can be trusted. Or maybe I'm trying too hard to defend Tripp here. But fuck it, I'm Team Tripp 'till the day I die. Or the day he dies. Whichever one comes first.
I can't be the only one who finds him a bit unbelievable, right?

Javier keeps saying stuff like, "Tripp, you trust me right??!" and Tripp obeys without question, despite the fact that they've known each other for a day and he should probably not be so trusting of my Javier thus far. I don't know, I hope there is more to this guy than blind obedience.
Also during the tear gas scene he holds the new frontier off while you find your family.
Tripp is badass. He is the kind of guy you know has your back. I really hope they don't kill him off quickly. I'd like to know more about his background.

Telltale loves killing everyone off. We are constantly being introduced to new characters and then they die before we know anything about them. It is time for them to slow down and begin to have long term plans for some characters other than Clementine. Tripp could be one of those characters. He has a great voice actor, he is a mechanic which is a major skill needed in any group, he is tough as nails, got his shit together and loyal as hell. He also has a bad temper and can fly off at certain times like we saw during episode 2 but is able to be reasoned with. Clementine also trusted him more than Eleanor which says a lot. Tripp being able to survive for a long time is believable as well.
Tripp in a lot of ways (could) fill the void that Kenny left.
When you look past all of the general criticisms for this season, you become aware that the secondary characters in this season so far are actually better writen and better voice acting than the characters from Season 2.
Tripp is cool and Eleanor is nice too. Infact these two are so good that we may aswell prepare ourself for
[Save Tripp] [Save Eleanor]
Just me. Or anyone else think its painfully obvious that we will get this choice.
While Tripp is my favorite, Max is very underrated, I actually like him quite a bit. Yeah he's an antagonist, but he's also displayed a sense of morality and fairness and is quite reasonable. You can see he didn't know about Badger having Francine and didn't want to go along with it, he wanted to try and defuse the situation and not let it get out of hand, and doesn't want to leave Kate to die.

I don't see what the problem here is
Nope, not at all
The Best Douchebag of this game. He better not fucking die.
Reggie is pretty bad.

For my choices in season 1 it said me and a majority of players got locked up. and a small majority didnt. Is there a way to avoid that situation?
You have to choose to either cover for Clementine by saying she was justified in shooting, or throw her under the bus.
If you throw her under the bus, Tripp only locks up Clementine, but Javier's allowed to roam around.
They better not kill him off this season. To many good supporting characters have died in this series
How dare you?

lol. I agree though... such a good character can't possiblity survive in TTG world.
They are, too bad TTG want to slaughter them faster than you can slice a potato.
You jinxed it.
Eh, obviously. I agree.
He is pretty cool and level headed. I like how he has an well-thought out fair approach to things.
Sure like the rest he doesn't act quite right after his entire community dies. But he is still a decent group member

Unfortunately, I fear we'll have to choose between him and Eleanor at some point just like with Doug and Carley.
That picture looks like as if Tripp is on a trip (if you know what i mean, mushrooms still grow in the apocalypse)
Damn. Hard choice, but i probably save Tripp, because:
