Is Clementine turning into Kenny?

Well, we all know Clem lost so many people she loved. Losing people was one of the reasons why Kenny changed. And I'm afraid Clementine has changed too.

She would never steal anything from anyone.

She would never lie to anyone.

She would never kill a person and make someone to lie for her.

She would never curse that much.

I think Clem has changed a lot. And I'm so worried for her.

  • Well its logical for my Clem to turn into Kenny a bit, because she left Wellington with him, and he was the person she spent the most time with.

I liked when Clem said "Thanks for having my back", at that point I saw some Kenny type speech and I was happy even though TT killed Kenny :(

We have no clue what happened inside of the New Frontier so that is a big factor we can't know yet. I also think she is a lot more like Jane in these first two episodes than Kenny. She is using Jane's moves and her entire loner thing is all Jane. Jane also had no problem stealing from Arvo. Also Clementine's comments about "family" always leaving you alone and all that sounds exactly like Jane's comments about groups from S2.

I saw a link on reddit about a guy who said we WILL see hints of our Clem in the next episodes. Hopefully he wasn't lying.
    Found it.

well... i mean... kenny's not the only one who's changed after losing people? i think everyone has, subtle or not.
it makes sense that she'd change, you can only get so far by abiding by the rules of society in this kind of situation. all things considered, i don't really think she has strayed too far like most people have.
also, i think she can do all those things you listed in season 2.

  • She would never steal anything from anyone.

Hey, she did save his ass, javy did owe her. She puts the chocolate bar back anyways.

She would never lie to anyone

It's the walking dead. You do what you need to do to stay alive. There's no good anymore, just bad and worse. She lied for her own good, not to put others in harms way.

She would never kill a person and make someone to lie for her.

Nah. Kenny was a dick to nice people who looked out for him. Clementine's a dick to people who almost got her killed. She's justified.

She would never curse that much

Oh please it was bound to happen. she's not 8 anymore. All that she ever hears is curse words. Also cursing is proven to reduce stress so she's allowed to do it as much as she pleases.

  • Clem put a bug on Duck's pillow and called him a cry baby.
She was evil from the start.

  • Yeah of course, she literally becoming him. Soon her transformation will be complete, as we speak she's gouging her eye out, trying her hardest to grow a beard that's even half as majestic as Kenny's.

  • Holy hell, Female Negan up in here.

  • I thought she was turning into Jane, the whole "I am going to leave you" she pulled in Ep 2 and then came back, and how if you didn't shoot Conrad she leaves you too.
She also lies to save her skin instead of being honest, being cunning is something Jane taught her, not Kenny.

The only thing Kenny "taught" her is to drive, that happens only if you go with him at the ending, how did she learn to drive otherwise?

  • Hey, she did save his ass, javy did owe her. She puts the chocolate bar back anyways.

If you don't say anything she takes it.
And she didn't save Javi ass because she wanted to, she couldn't have care less if she killed him.

She would never steal anything from anyone. Hey, she did save his ass, javy did owe her. She puts the chocolate bar back anyways.

  • Worse--she's turned into Jane! Except with more empathy--and who knows how long that'll last?

We have the whole rest of the season to go! If you were expecting to see 42 different scenes that specifically address the type of Clementine that you have then you are correct that we didn't do that. We have shown the beginnings of that, but there are many other choices that will come into play. Some not even directly. For example, we won't specifically call out if Clem specifically watched Carver die, but that experience will 100% effect how Clem reacts to situations over the course of the series. But don't expect Clem to have a monolog about "once there was a man named Carver who....". Sorry to have disappointed you but if you hang in there I think you'll find your Clem is there.

Yeah... I'll hold off on believing this till I see it with my own eyes. I've been fooled by Telltale far too many times to take their words on anything.

And why is it that they talk to fans more on websites outside of their own forum? It's been dead quiet on the forums lately when it comes to staff.

With my luck, a Telltale staff member will see this comment and reply to it. Please don't.

Agreed for the most part. I think all in all that its much more understandable for her to be doing those things now compared to Season 2, which at least took the time to justify her stealing and imply that she's not very good at it, respectively.

She would never kill a person and make someone to lie for her.

I think she'd kill if she had to, but the being quick towards lying about it is what rubbed me the wrong way.

She would never curse that much.

A perfect example of a key characteristic being gone.

I think Clem has changed a lot. And I'm so worried for her.

I am too. Even though I somewhat knew she would turn out this way.

Is she lying about it though? I don't think she intended to kill him, she did think the bullets would go off.

I mean I had the same policy when I was a kid, but that went out the window when I became a teen.

  • Almost every person who is still alive in any form of TWD media (comic, videogame or tv series) needed to adapt to the harsh reality that they are living. They evolve and become more violent, careful, and distrustful. There comes a time when they do not even feel bad when they have to kill another person. They've adapted, and with four years into the apocalypse, so has Clementine.

As Chuck said in S1: "You're either living or you're not. You ain't little, you ain't a girl, you ain't a boy, you ain't strong or smart, you're alive."

  • Is she lying about it though? I don't think she intended to kill him, she did think the bullets would go off.

Okay, maybe not lying per say, but just being quick to cover it up. I know that guy was a shyster and she only shot at him because she knew they were blanks, but to jump straight to that is very unlike what we've come to know about her.

I mean I had the same policy when I was a kid, but that went out the window when I became a teen.

Well, like I said above, its much more understandable for her to be doing those things now compared to Season 2. It's been quite some time and she's been around some bad people for quite some time.

  • Who the heck is that even supposed to be?

  • We still don't know why she's doing what she's doing.
I believe she's really desperate to get back to A.J., or get A.J back from wherever.

I don't think she's acting worse than Lee would act if he was seperated from Clementine.

  • Me too. I want the old Clem back!

  • Stealing lying and cursing isn't really a big problem, it's part of survival. What disturbed me was when she took it so lightly after she killed that person who gave her false bullets.

  • Did she? She was panicking afterward and I doubt that was her first kill. The shock of killing sort of numbs out after awhile.
