First impression of Clementine

Remember back to when you first played season 1, what did you feel about Clem's introduction? Honestly, I was kind of annoyed that I was going to have to take care of her at first. I didn't go into the game expecting to be a babysitter you know? But I slowly started to warm up to her through episode 1, and by episode 4 I considered her to be Lee's adopted daughter. At this point, she's the best part about these games as far as I'm concerned. She's also one of the few child characters that aren't annoying to me. So, did you like her immediately, or did it take you a while to care about her?

  • I feel pretty much the same way. She's just way too endearing to not want to protect.

  • I was indifferent at first. I think the office scene in the drugstore was the first standout moment with her, but she definitely grew on me throughout the season. I still remember how I felt in episode 5, standing there with one arm looking down that packed street thinking "its gonna take more than this to stop me" lol. Good times.

  • Yeah, that scene was awesome. The "armed with death" song made it perfect.

  • Children are almost always badly voiced and pain in the asses. Yet...Clementine was wonderfully voiced and a delightful experience.

  • Exactly, it's like they couldn't of done a child any better!

  • Imagine of Clementine was replaced with Duck or Sarah. I don't care how badass they'd become, I couldn't stand looking at their characters and Duck's stupid voice.

  • Yeah, I probably would have stopped playing to be honest lol.

    I liked her.

I remember When I was inspecting her house, i saw her picture with her parents, and i felt bad for her when i was hearing her mom's voice messages, it was really sad.
and then we start talking with that walkie-talkie, i liked her from the beginning and i knew Lee had to take care of that innocent cute little girl.

She was (and still) perfectly voiced, Mellisa really put her heart and soul in acting Clem.

Oh God the memories man, it was such a good and sad old times.

  • It's pretty cool that you wanted to help her so quickly. Mellisa did an excellent job voicing her, and I agree that it was pretty much perfect. Season 1 is my favorite game of all time, I don't think I'll ever forget it.

  • Well thought of course I'm going to take the girl but never thought she was going to end up as a main character I really thought she would die in the end instead of lee (people will hate me for this but I would be fine if Clem died and lee didn't it might have been more interesting) but I love her in ANF.

  • Too bad Telltale threw it all away with Javier

  • I liked her, she gave me a hammer and we instantly bonded over walker murder.

  • "Oh crap its gonna be an Escort Quest"

    It all worked out though.

  • First impression of Clementine

"Fuck, I'm going to end up loving her character, arent I...."

  • When I first met her, I didn't think too much about her. Kid characters don't have a very good history in any form of media, and I honestly thought she would be walker food very quickly. She was nice and did help Lee, so I guess I liked her, but didn't really care about her.

Man have things changed. Now, she's my favorite character, not just in TWD, but of all time, and I will do anything to protect her. It's honestly really funny looking back, how I went from "You're cute I guess, sucks you're going to most likely die" to "I will kill anyone that lays a fucking hand on her!"

  • That's exactly what popped into my head at the time actually. Then it wound up being the best escort quest ever.

  • Who doesn't? Clem is the best :^).

  • Is that even a question?

I even thought "At some point I'm gonna have to cover her in walker goo and escort her through a herd, thats gonna suck"

And then it happens and while it did suck, it sucked in all the right ways.

  • It's funny, season 1 was not even close to being on my radar until a friend bought me the first episode because he enjoyed it so much. Now she's up there with Batman and Jack Bauer as far as characters go for me lol

  • I never saw that part coming, myself. I agree with you though.

  • I didn't know s1 even existed until around every corner was released. The only reason I found it was because I was bored and browsing the psn store. I had a friend that didn't know about either, but I got him hooked on it pretty quickly.

  • I instantly got The Last of Us vibes and instantly liked her. I mean, how could you not? She is super adorable. And having Lee, a convicted criminal with a good heart inside him, take care of her was a very good setup for the story.

I got Duck's death spoiled for me, so I spent more time focusing on making him and Kenny happy because I knew how horrible things would get for them. I was somewhat indifferent towards clem my first run, but honestly I don't remember too well.
