No, I shot Conrad because he was taking it too far.
That doesn't make sense. If that's the outcome you wanted, you would let the timer run out and let Conrad kill Gabe anyway (if that were an option).

What I imagined was me hitting Gabe, and having Clem kill Conrad before he could react and kill me. That way we could've had no more angry assholes and whiny teens in the group
That was my initial reason as well. I had to side with Clem. Shooting Gabe would've just been icing on the cake!
Jeez what's with all the hate towards Gabe? In the begging I thought of him as an angsty teen but I realized he's not that bad I shot conrad to save Gabe because in a way I would treat him as a Clementine and you always want to watch out for him even though he is grown up but just less mature then Clem plus I ship Gabe and Clem.
Clem can do better than that. I'd rather ship him with the herd of walkers
