If you thought he was dead, that doesn't make it right. Do you think David would still want his brother to adopt his wife and make Kate convert to Javier? That's just flat out awkward, plus I also wasn't romantic with her because I don't even care about Kate (and Gabe), we get thrown into Javier's story and Kate already wants to get all over you when I don't have one reason why I'd want to be in a relationship with her. It's way too sudden in my opinion, the lack of character development didn't help either with me having feelings towards Javier's family. Either way you look at it, Kate is considered family, and do you think it's moral for a family to start kissing and flirting with each other? I wouldn't say it is, which is my biggest problem with this relationship you can let be forced or not.
That's assuming two things. That he's there, which David is not, and that they're together. Which they might not be if he split off from the… more group at some point rather than him being missing since the beginning of the apocalypse four years ago.
And if he's been missing . . . It's been four years. Javier and Kate don't know if he's alive or dead.
Life's complicated, Spodes. What David wants or doesn't want doesn't really matter if he's not there to take care of his own kids or be with his wife. If he was dead, hypothetically speaking, he'd be past caring. As for Kate being family, Everybody has different standards of morals. Life's gray. Your morals are what you personally hold yourself to.

I'm just giving my opinions on why I didn't make advances, even gave responses not related to morals, all of my reasons together still makes me not inclined to flirt or kiss her.

Obviously you can't, a huge con of this game was the lack of character development and throwing us into Javier's POV when almost none of us feel invested in his family at all, there's tons of threads and unrelenting angry post that include this point also.
Yeah . . . I've seen a lot of the angry posts. I can't really talk about a lack of character development, the only writing I do is with my D&D group. Javier has a personality. As for not feeling invested . . . I'm not chained to Clementine like so many others are.

Look, some people will look for every attempt they can for relationships in a game, it's quite disgusting because many do the same for Clem too, thankfully that's not as popular though.
Hell yes I did. They've been traveling and raising two kids alone together for four years, I'm frankly astonished that they've taken this long to get anything going and would be even if they hadn't had any chemistry beforehand. I actually really like them as a couple, they were both sort of flighty birds who chafed at settling in before the apocalypse, and the responsibility of survival and caring for kids that didn't belong to either of them forced them both to grow up, barring the occasional stick of weed.
After four years of keeping his kids alive in the damn zombie apocalypse, I don't see that they owe the presumed dead David one iota of loyalty to his and Kate's unhappy marriage. I'd also be very shocked if, after everything that's happened and all the time that's passed, David would be silly enough to think of it as her cheating on him even if they started having a relationship right in front of him.
Not that I think that's likely. Some discrete petting and maybe another kiss for good measure aside, it's just a really bad time for them to get all lovey dovey. Maybe at some point in the future. And they've already demonstrated damn impressive patience.
Gorgeous stoner chick, yeah you nailed it my friend. She's totally my type both physically and mentally. She is sharp and down to earth and basically exactly who I would like in that situation.
I...well...I sort of...
(sigh)
Yes.
She's a gorgeous stoner chick that doesn't seem to like kids too much and that attracted me/rop… moreed me in. Although, when she broke the glass, I didn't hold onto her hands when she pulled mine back with that tough to resist, dreamy look in her eyes. All she had to say was "Hey Javi, my favorite band is Pink Floyd, what's yours" and my pants would have been off in an instant.
However, I didn't think the shitty plottwist of David being The New Frontier leader was gonna happen so I sorta just said fuck it and went for it. But OF FUCKING COURSE my choice was gonna come back to bite me in the ass. I refuse to rewind first time canon playthroughs, so I'm just gonna bite the bullet and take responsibility for what I did.
BRING IT, DAVID!
Fuck. He brought it...
But in this case "bro code" is meant quite literally. This is the wife of his brother and the mother of his niece and nephew. I don't know about you but I'd still feel strange and guilty afterwards even if it has been 4 years.
Let's see
I have a big brother, who him and I share the same blood and the same mother and the same father and the same famliy name and i k… morenow him since we were a kids, and now we grown he worked very well for his life and got kids and wife and i failed in my life as baseball player than some day I give up for a moment of weakness and kiss his wife
it will be a very low of me if i did it after he still say to me I love you little brother and I will never live with it and i am living at his own home
Who know's maybe he go to work but he feel sick than he back to home fined his wife at the bad with his own brother
Can you do that to your brother? I dare any one to say yes
Gorgeous stoner chick, yeah you nailed it my friend. She's totally my type both physically and mentally. She is sharp and down to earth and basically exactly who I would like in that situation.
The fact that she was the wife of Javier's brother didn't phase me but I just didn't enjoy her personality enough to be intimate, if I did then I would've kissed her without second thoughts.
No, and as I stated a long time ago (TOO LONG-- WHERE THE EFF IS EPISODE 3?) I hate how it's obvious by the way the game is shoving a romance with her down your throat that it's going to play out like you were getting busy with her even if you refused all of her advances. (Side note: I've had married women get even more aggressive with me than Kate is being here and rejected them.) ANYWAY, you just KNOW that the brother is going to play it like you were banging her even if it's far from the case because that's how these games work.
Nope. Bros before hos! And Kate is 100% a thirsty trashy ho. I did everything in my power not to play into that stupid trope. Plus, regardless, it's tasteless to have Javier go after his brother's wife no matter how many years it's been. That's low down and dirty. And as much as I adore Shane, he and Lori where 1,000% wrong for doing what they did.
YEEESSSS!!!!!! You totally know they are going to go the love triangle way. And that really sucks. I hope they don't but it really feels that way. Sad too. Because if the player chose not to go that way, then they should provide a storyline that supports that narrative.

I found the option to kiss her kinda awkward and just weird it was there. To me it was just a way for telltale to try and advance this shoehorned love-triangle storyline they're working to.
No, I didn't kiss her. How many people said it is like Shane and Lori( I hated Shane for being with his best friend's wife) . But if they would be together after 7 year or more I wil consider being with Kate.
For everyone saying this is like the Shane and Lori situation, I have to say I strongly disagree. When they got together, from what I understand, it was 4-5 weeks into the apocalypse (That's when Rick woke up).
Javi and Kate have been together for over 4 years with two young kids, somehow managing to keep everyone alive. That is a complete difference. The two of them are partners in survival, and they have to deeply care about one another (as well as the kids) to have stuck together and made it work so flawlessly for so long. At the time Rick found Shane and Lori, the survivors weren't even 100% sure that everything everywhere was completely doomed. They still had hope. With Kate and Javi, there is no way anyone has hope for returning to the way things are.
From what I understood, they never joined groups, and always stayed on the road to stay alive. 4 years into the apocalypse, I don't think you are dishonoring your brother at that point. Javi and Kate spend 100% of their time together. 4 years is a hell of a long time in a very lonely, depressing horrible world. I mean I know it's not the time for romance, but it's human nature. Of course they assumed David was dead or they would never see him again that far in. It's not like they did it sneakily or behind his back, this isn't "cheating". It's a hopeless situation. Romance creates security, and gives a little brightness and comfort where there is almost none. Plus from the vibe I am getting from them, the romance is more in the budding stages and not full blown they are a "couple"....I could be wrong on that, but it does sort of seem to be the picture they are painting. Anyway this is just my opinion, I don't expect people to agree.
I am willing to accept whatever repercussions happen with David, it's understandable for him to get upset. But I am sure there will be a dialogue option to justify it and maybe reason with him, hopefully anyway. If not, we'll see I guess.
If there is an option in episode 3 to kiss Kate agian I'll happily do it in front of Davids eyes lmao just can't wait for a fight between these bunch of samba pussies
I mean, it kinda looks a lot worse when you consider Javier seems to have only been staying with David for a short while in the second flashback, and after having not been around for his family in years his brothers wife is flirting with him and talking about running away together.
I kissed her.

It's even worse than Shane and Lori. Why? because Kate was trying to get into Javier's pants before the dead rose and started eating people. I get that she was a "free" spirit, and she was with David because it was fun... at first. But she had some idea what she was getting into once she met his kids, and yet she still agreed to marry him. Then she bad mouths him every second that she gets.
Then she's ready to up and leave everything, practically begging Javier to take her with him so she can start over. That was warning bells right there. Then when Javier tells David that she wants to leave him, she gets all defensive and acts as if she's the world's perfect wife. How dearly she holds and clings to her vows. How hypocritical is that!? He should have run for the hills back then. Just imagine if they did get together, when she finds someone better she'd drop Javier like a hot potato without blinking an eye.
I see him staying with Kate and the kids solely for his niece and nephew. Just look at how she talks about them while she's getting high. Of course she's not going to have feelings for them as if they were her own flesh and blood, but come on, you don't say that stuff out of your mouth about children!
lastly, it doesn't matter if David was dead for twenty years. Dude, that's his wife. Javier shouldn't even want to hit that if it where the last snatch on earth.
I kissed her.

No, I didn't kiss Kate. It felt like a Shane/Lori/Rick situation, except in this instance 'Shane' is blood related to 'Rick'. It is interesting though how many people seemed opposed to Shane's advancements when he was in the same basic situation as Javi.
You know, sometimes I think that Shane going after Lori was in some twisted way of him getting his best friend back. Rick was gone. The closest physical connection to him would be Lori. Does that make sense?
Then other times I'm like, nah, Shane loves women. And he'd sleep with a bucket if it had a hole in it. lol

The first season of the show did a good job of portraying it as his best friend stepping in to take care of his family. Rick's marriage had also been on the rocks for awhile, and Shane was a shoulder for her to vent on prior to Rick's coma. On the show, I always thought that Shane had a better connection with Carl than Rick. ( This is definitely not the case with the comic, and the show in later seasons would definitely take this off the deep end in order to get rid of Shane in a way the audience wouldn't hate. )
I just didn't want to deal with that awkward situation. On a completely unrelated note, I really wish TellTale had killed Gabe instead of Mariana. .....does that make me a bad person? lol

lol No, I'm still wondering how Gabe managed to make it for this long with his braty fits of running off with walkers all around. Plus, I much rather have had Kate be shot in the head than Mariana. I actually like the younger girl.

Same here! You have a wonderful taste in women, my friend.
I thought David was dead.
So yep.
(I regret it.)

Hmm....
To answer your question, nope I didn't.

No. I kind of knew David would still be alive
But that's not the only reason. I personally just didn't sit well with the thought of kissing my sister-in-law
I also shipped Javi with Eleanor veeerrrry early into the game haha (I just hope Tripp won't h8 me)
Nope. I'm not Shane Walsh.

Yup, because I actually thought she was a widow.
Oops.
Nope
Yes
Nah. Eleanor might be good for him.
I agree. I think Eleanor is a much better choice for Javi, unless she is willing to cheat on her husband too.
Eleanor forever~~
