For a considerable portion of players, Kenny was a much more meaningful person for Clementine that Lee ever was—and that is coming from somebody who is usually discussing against Kenny.

To be fair, it's clearly highlighted as him panicking in trying to get Duck to safety, Hershel chews him out for it, and he can later call you aside to confide that he feels so terrible about it that he's not sure he can deal with it(as I recently found out). I think it's just either a retroactive backlash due to later unlikeableness or people really being understandably sore about Shawn towards him and Duck.
I like the idea that Clementine's reaction to seeing the Carver-Kenny Defectors again would just a be a simple "fuck you" rather than a less unexpected asswhoopin. Almost makes me wish Arvo was the New Frontier Lieutenant instead of Max at the gates.
