The media never used to the term "alternative fact" before Kellyanne Conway... She did coin the term, and she is his adviser, and used the term to defend Sean Spicer's onerous, blatant lies. You're probably think of the "fake news" meme, which has more dubious roots.
What do you mean by saying the administration coined the term? Because if you just mean Kellyane's original statement, that's a bit too vagu… moree for my liking.
How are the crowd sizes measured and recorded? Because I have been getting nothing but mixed info due to the hysterical nature of discussion online and incredibly vague and suspect media write ups.
I can't say I'm a fan of administration, or him personally, but I'm very wait and see on the situation. I am very disillusioned, since I quite liked Bernie, and saw all the vicious attacks and manipulation against him, so it has become dramatically boy who cries wolf situation for me, seeing New York Times, who ran something close to deceitful attack pieces on Bernie in around 18 hours, writing a ridiculous amount of hyperbole about them, which makes it hard to know and be aware of what might be legitimate instances for criticism or not.
We should probably move over to the political th… [view original content]
You misunderstood me, she used the words, but then the media cycle caught on and made a narrative about it, since they are doing everything they can to discredit the trump administration. The media conglomerate, including the talk shows, DNC, and other parts all financially tied all did a coordinated story at the same time, like they have numerous times in their attempts to discredit their opponents.
As far as the "onerous and blatant lies", firstly, how are the crowds measured, secondly who is measuring them, thirdly, why am I seeing videos and photos online showing massive crowds completely opposing news stations photos (and not at all easily editable ones)? Fourthly, why do the media only notice large crowd sizes when it fits their narrative, and deliberately zoomed in on and manipulated event footage of Hillary Clinton's (and others) rallies and speeches, hiding how small the crowds are for some events?
How am I supposed to trust the media when they deliberately refused to report on Bernie Sanders crowds, and deliberately hid crowd sizes in their heavily edited, brief reports on him? Like, for example, showing an empty trump arena slowly fill up whilst a Sanders speech was occurring live, at that moment, with easily accessible footage.
Finally, how am I supposed to trust a open source wikipedia article, especially with Shareblue (Correct The Record), and how can I find out who made the article?
It honestly simply sounds like she was saying Sean Spicer got different info which he mentioned during his speech, it seems rather lacking in maliciousness. It seems her whole statement is that there wasn't a clear measurement anyway, and that the media was spreading falsehoods, saying that Sean Spicer had facts that proved that wrong, alternative was a minor part of her sentence, and doesn't seem like it was the overt intent.
And honestly, there is no reason to lie about this if they are so easily caught out on it, it gains them nothing, doesn't improve their PR, it has no benefit, the lie has no intention behind its utilization, so I have trouble seeing what benefit it creates or any legitimate reasoning behind it.
Also, I remember hearing that conferences and debates Trump was involved in were some of the much watched in history? If that is true (and reportedly it is from the same news agencies), why would the inauguration magically be reduced in popularity and viewership?
